My daughter and I always head over to Play on The Strand with our pockets full of quarters. We head straight to the back and hit up the arcade. They've got some pinball machines back there along with a couple of arcade games. We fill their machines up with quarters then check out all the cool toys they have. They have a lot of cool toys in there and my daughter seems to always sucker me into buying her something when we leave. I always enjoy supporting small businesses here in Galveston, and their toys are of good quality. I highly recommend a visit to anyone who visits The Strand. Instead, the managers and staff came across as rude, unwelcoming, and lacking any sense of customer service. We left feeling embarrassed and disrespected. Lines, arrows, stop signs... none of it matters. It's a full‑scale, no‑rules demolition derby of minivans, rental cars, and golf carts, all piloted by people who seem to believe traffic laws are more of a suggestion than a system. So I put back the spoons and went out to my car. I was inside my car and about to leave when a different Spanish woman who was also working in the store walks up to my window - I rolled it down and she tells me the woman (from behind the counter) wanted her to check my purse - WHAT THE HELL? First since I have worked retail I could understand that if I was inside but not in my car, two you don't send employees to strangers cars to do that - it is dangerous. I showed her I had nothing in my purse and then told her exactly how I felt about her management. Needless to say I will never go to another Dolphin World store - they need to train their employees and take customer service classes.
