He went on the roof took two min, looked up into the fireplace and then reported I didn't need any thing every looked great. He had two recommendations that could be done sometime or not at all. I was some what surprised that he said didn't need any as I thought he would be cleaning my ash pit , maybe I didn't explain what I wanted very well. He gave me my bill for just coming 22 miles and looking things over 20 min tops and charge 160.50 for the service call and had to do nothing ,but a lot of talking about himself and his business and ones he use to run. The morning of I got a text message saying he wasn't going to arrive until 10:30 or 11. I called to let him know that I had a doctors appointment that day at 10. We decided he would come after my appointment at noon. By the time my appointment was over I had another text message from him asking if we could reschedule. We decided to reschedule for the next Tuesday at 10. A few days before the appointment he text and said he would be there between 10:30 and 11. Then again the day of he text me at eight in the morning asking if he could start at 9:00 instead. I told him that the earliest I could have him start was 9:30 and that's when he showed up to start the job. I walked him through the house and we started talking about cost. The amount he told me was different from the price he quoted me over the phone. The cost he told me was $540. He informed me that he would have to have someone else come out to help him because he had booked another job that day as well. He told me the job would take 4-5 hours. He ended up being here from 9:30-5:30. Toward the end of the process he expressed to me his frustration with the house being older and he will be charging $800 for houses like this from now on. I felt as though he was guilt tripping me for him underbidding the job with out coming out to the house before giving a bid. He informed me there were 3 registers that were none working that didn't get cleaned and another that he couldn't do to the best of his ability due to insulation. All of which he included in the price he gave me but didn't end up coming off the end total when it came to pay. He ended up leaving without finishing the clean up from the job because of that he offered to take $20 off of the cost. He then said with that off the total would be $540. Which was the cost he gave me at the beginning. I ended up paying $520 at the end. He also told me he would show/send me pictures of the air ducts before and after and he never did. I reached out to him since the job to see if he did in fact take those and if he could send them to me and I haven't heard anything from him. After looking into some of the vents, there is still layers of dust and things like forks, and toys in some of them that I know were "cleaned".

Winter cleanup was not completed as to agreed upon cleanup terms, hours worked were inflated and additional non agreed upon charges were incurred. Mulch was quoted for full yard and then multiple trees were not mulched. When we asked him to redo the work he did not do and discuss the hours worked- he threatened legal action for payment. Unfortunately, communication and appropriate billing are not a strong suit. I would guarantee you review multiple times with him what work you want done and do not enter contract for per hour worked.

But his job as a professional was to call me or text me immediately when he knew he could not make our agreed-upon appointment today. But he's young so I suggest you give him a chance.
