This place is perfect for the Sport's enthusiast as there are TV's on every wall pretty much, for fans to catch their favorite teams playing. There is also, a separate room off the bar area for large gatherings. Our waiter was warm and friendly. He took our order promptly.... we waited and waited for our food to come out. Mind you we ordered two sandwiches and a bowl of soup. The soup came out and again we waited. Unfortunately, all we got to try was the soup as we had an event we had to get to as our sandwiches when asked were not prepared. Sometimes things happen when you run a business and it is how you handle them that is the difference between just a restaurant and a great restaurant. This restaurant would earn five stars on just how things were handled. Kudos go to the staff there.... The French Onion soup we had for me was not my cup of tea as it was over seasoned and had way too many croutons which between the seasoning and bread overpowered the soup. My partner in crime thought it tasted OK and proceeded to devour the soup so will leave that up to you to decide LOL !!!!

Over the course of dinner, the place never really filled up. And as the evening went on, I found out why. I will say that the food was very good - we asked for the Clams Casino and the Mozzarella Wedge. Soup of the day was New England Clam Chowder, it was nice and thick and loaded with both potatoes and clams. Definitely one of the better ones I've had. Dinner was the BLI Burger, which my wife tells me was very good but no better than quite a few deli's in Syracuse. I ordered the Truffle Gnocci and Scallops, which was expensive for the portion I got - they tried to make it look bigger by serving it in a large bowl but no one was fooled. About 6 gnocci and 3 scallops with some mushroom risotto. Pathetic. Then came the coup de grace... two filet au poivre with the Lazy Surf and Turf. What does this really mean, you might ask? Well, instead of getting a lobster tail they pull the meat out and serve it in a bowl of butter for you. Hence, "lazy" - you don't have to do any work. And they charge exorbitantly for this service. So the price was $74 for the steak with an additional upcharge of $28 for the "lazy" lobster tail. One guest got the lobster tail, one didn't. Was it good? Yes. Was it worth the price? Absolutely not - I've been to Chicago and gotten a better, larger cut of steak for far less than this. So for dinner the bill came to a little over $300 (not including tip). Ridiculous to pay for 4 dinners and a few appetizers, especially when one of them was a burger and fries. I could have gone to the Grotto in North Syracuse, gotten bigger portions, better quality food and spent about half as much. As it stands, I won't be back - not because of the food quality or the service, but because the prices are far too much for far too little.

I was worried at first because they had live music, but it was far enough away that we could hear it faintly you were still able to have a great conversation and enjoy a great meal. The service was top-notch. Our meals came out in a timely manner, giving us enough time to enjoy each course after we die and we went to see the music. I definitely will be back and book a table closer to the music and enjoy a casual meal.

I ordered the tropical salmon and was side eyeing the coconut a little, but wow... it all came together perfectly. Sweet, tangy, and the salmon was cooked exactly right. Service never disappoints, and whoever was behind the bar deserves a shoutout because that blackberry margarita was dangerous. I went back for round two and I'm not sorry about it. Dessert was a dense chocolate cake that didn't even last long enough for a photo, which says everything. Consistently good food, fabulous drinks, and a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel like family.

We ordered the bang bang shrimp appetizer, and the batter was so crispy and also fluffy (almost like a battered haddock but lighter) - awesome! The bang bang sauce has great flavor, but slightly too mayo forward for my preferences - but ate it up nonetheless and would get them again! I also ordered a blackberry margarita- which I will say was strong, but the flavors were great. When I asked if they minded giving me a couple Slices of lemon and some simple syrup (and yes I admitted that it was a ME problem, not that they made it poorly- it was just stronger and I'm a big wimp!) , they promptly, no questions asked said "we got this" and put the drink back in the shaker and added some simple syrup (mind you I was totally fine with just a little shot glass of it to dump in my drink!) - so the willingness to be so helpful was very appreciated. As for our entrees, one of us ordered the Cajun Alfredo and one of us ordered the Tropical Salmon, both were made incredibly well, and the flavor and seasoning was fantastic! The Alfredo sauce when I tried it was lovely, not so thick and "artery clogging" as some Alfredo can be, but coated the noodles beautifully and packed a flavorful punch. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and the pineapple and coconut in the rice made for an amazingly delicious dish. We were also fortunate to sit at a window overlooking the swan pond and then take a nice walk around the pond. So lovely- cannot wait to go back!!

My friend really enjoyed a sangria drink as well. I ordered a burger with chips instead of fries - it came out with fries that were SO good and crisp I decided to just keep them and was quite satisfied. Our server (Evian?) was amazing, patient and gracious and gave personalized service for a group of 10+. She even took a picture for us! The manager came to check in during our meal as well. My ongoing complaint with Craftsman is the ambiance. It is gorgeous inside, the patio is pretty okay, but I have never been a comfortable temperature there...either way too hot or way too cold! I recognize that could be personal preference or a seasonal issue but it's been my experience more than once. They are currently doing some construction in the hall outside the bathrooms. I personally think it is a little overpriced but what they offer is higher quality than some similarly priced restaurants in the area so it doesn't deter me, I just know when I'm there I'll spend a bit.

We like the open kitchen concept. We started off with the crispy cauliflower, which I wasn't sure my husband would like it. We both enjoyed this very much, my husband likes the general tao's sauce. Then for our entrees I opted for the braised short ribs (pappardelle, ragu, parmigiano reggiano). The braised short ribs were delicious, tender. I could have done without the pasta(tad bit overcooked). My husband had the steak flight with mashed potatoes and glazed carrots. He enjoyed each cut and sauces, he said it was actually filling. Overall we'll be back to try more items, they have outdoor seating and also a cozy fire pit too. The staff were super friendly and welcoming from start to finish.
