I went to the SPCA last Monday to see what cats they had. There was a fair selection of cats to…read moreadopt, no kittens at the time. I didn't want a kitten, and ended up adopting Gunther, whose name I changed as soon as he showed me his personality. Renamed Sylvester on Tuesday evening, he is a sweet and gentle 2-year-old, but often into mischief. Happily, I do not have a Tweety bird. Currently, you do not need an appointment to adopt a cat, except on Saturdays. The shelter this week also has a pony and a water turtle, and other non-canine or feline species. Yesterday they had vet for a day there with students checking in on the barn animals and they had therapy dogs there and one of the older students was nice enough to give me a tour and brought of one of the chickens for me to see since with my wheelchair it was hard to see over the door and let me pet the chicken which was cool he was such a great tour guide and told me all about the bar animals!! Definitely the place to adopt from if you're looking for your fur-friend!! They are handicap accessible!!
