Making fun of Lacoste shirt I snagged

It was an okay thrift style store. The employees were kinda rude at least the one at the register. Other than that I found a pretty cool shirt. Prices were fair, not like a goodwill cheap but cheaper than new.

BE is usually a hit or miss, but from my experience selling at locations all over the country, I usually sell 1-2 items per visit. This was my first time selling at this Houston location. I came a little after 11am when they open, and there was already a long wait. Soon after I arrived, there was a line almost out the door! SO...if you are in a time crunch, be aware that wait times can be up to 30 minutes before you sell. Good thing is, the employees are pretty quick and know what to look for. They are on the "eclectic/edgy" side, and a lot of my "formal" items were passed over. They took a dress I got from India and a dress I got from H&M...LOL! You never know what they'll go for, but I'm always surprised at what they pick! They took a gorgeous lavendar blazer and thigh high black patent boots from the girl before me, haha!

Lots of clothes. Not a thrift store since they have multiple of the same thing but cute shop. Not terrible prices( look at your surrounding.) service was friendly and attentive.

Whether you're buying or selling, this is a solid location. It's well organized the staff is friendly and helpful and there are some good hidden gems. Some stuff is slightly priced high, but overall, you can find something reasonably priced. They have a great selection of items foe all occasions.

You sent me a rude message recently, but other than that exchange, you've been pretty nice since I moved from Buffalo. This is a Houston Thrift Shop with New York City prices. It really did feel like being in Brooklyn and that's probably because it's in the Montrose neighborhood and definitely for people with more money. I don't find it too wildly different from a regular thrift stop, and neither did Barbie, not to the degree where it would be so much more expensive. It still has some great stuff in here if you completely forget about the prices.

Don't fret, they will buy your stained and gross old clothes

OMG! I was stunned by my last visit here, they are selling literal trash for insane prices! I used to love Buffalo Exchange and counted on them for quality pieces at reasonable prices. I have no idea what happened but everything changed. So much of what I saw was in horrible condition. Stains, rips, wear and tear galore. Look at the pics attached, these crocs had literally no tread; worn down FLAT & they were selling them for $25! I cannot fathom what they are thinking when buying and pricing items. I will definitely never return as a shopper but now that I know they buy and sell garbage, I would bring them my Goodwill donations and I guess make some money off of my extremely used and abused items. Really shameful

I had in my car things I wanted to sell and or donate. I was working close to Buffalo Exchange and decided to go in to see what they would buy. I had a fine red Ann Taylor wrap and they didn't offer to buy it, nor a Ralph Lauren cardigan. They did offer to buy two Desigual purses which are in perfect shape. What they were offering wasn't worth it. They offer 25 percent of what they'll sell the items for. A customer next to me said the purses are cute and for sure they'd buy them. I offered her one of the purses and she accepted it. I was only going to get about $5 for it. But if you take store credit, you get 50 percent of what they will sell the item for. Though most things are used, they're not that cheap. I was in a resale shop in Madrid last month and there were lots of tops for 5 Euros. I purchased one. The Exchange store does have some new shoes and jewelry. I have mixed feelings about the store. Maybe I'll drop by on Earth Day and see what they have for $1.

Pavement provides a valuable compromise between thrift and retail stores. Everyone loves the idea…read moreof thrifting, but it's often time-consuming and requires a sharp eye to spot the hidden gems. For a markup price, but still no where near what you'd pay at a retail store, Pavement filters a lot of the boring thrift items out. That way, you're more likely to find something you like without having to look too hard. Some of the finds here are quite impressive. I've bought a couple of graphic tees over the years, never paying more than $15 each despite them looking new. One of them has even landed in my rotation about once a week. Pavement's role as a trendy semi-thrift store works well for its location; I often find myself popping in for only 20-30 minutes, either right before or after grabbing a bite with friends, because that's all the time I need to browse the already-curated merchandise. In short, this is a great place to upgrade your wardrobe without breaking the bank or combing through hundreds of pieces at a time. The chances of walking out with something in hand is still hit or miss, similarly to any conventional thrift store, but I like my odds way better when I walk in here.

If you're looking for a last minute dress, top, shoes, or scarf for your night out, avoid University Drive and just head here. The clothes are affordable, but aren't genera-hip (ie bland) like some other, cheaper shops a block over. You're not really going to run into someone else with the exact same dress. And you're not going to be wearing much polyester. The cotton to poly-fiber ratio is about 5:5 here which is saying something, especially since the clothes are relatively inexpensive and relatively well-made. Again, this sounds mildly negative, but last minute is last minute and I wouldn't want you to waste your time either paying too much or getting a sub par outfit somewhere else. In fact, the last time I was here, I almost got a really cute, yet edgy strapless dress. Creamy white with a graphic silver, gold, and bronze pattern, and a fullish, layered skirt. Super cute, but I'm not certain how chilly or blazing hot New Years is going to be. Hmm. There are now five Em & Lee shops in town. Of the ones I've been to, including West Grey, I like this one the best. It's the warm wood interior. I'm not certain if that's left over from Hemline, but well, it's more inviting. Also, there were no sixteen year old River Oaks prima donna wannabes flitting about.

A girl's gotta maintain her image and her checkbook. Em & Lee was a great solution for cute cocktail dresses at a reasonable price. I came here upon the recommendation of Allie N. and I'm glad I listened! I had previously spent a bit of time browsing the sales racks of various stores (both department and independent retail shops) and couldn't find anything under $100 and wasn't skankified. I purchased a pale pink/nude-toned dress that was a poly-chiffon. It had a rouched top with a pleated skirt. It was $76 (regular price!) and an appropriate length. They also have a variety of cute tops and casual dresses. It's trendy but not too much. Although, the sizing is more like junior sizing so you may find yourself in between sizes. I appreciate the coupons they have on their website and facebook page. I got $10 off of my purchase because of that.
