Ok, I'm giving this place 3 stars because my instructor was very good. He was nice, patient and professional. They lost 2 stars because of the incompetence in their office. My husband called to inquire about lessons for me and indicated that we were interested in the 9 lesson package with unlimited road tests. They told him they would contact me to schedule lessons. Three days later they call me and I missed the call, but saw they left a voicemail. I still needed to line up a babysitter, so I decided to call back when I got a sitter lined up. They call me again 2 days later and once again I miss the call, but I had spoken to my mother about babysitting and called them right back. When I did, the secretary chided me for not showing up to my lesson. What lesson?? They apparently scheduled a week of lessons without ever speaking to me directly and I had just missed one. I said I had no idea and she told me they said so in the 1st voicemail. I never listened to it since I assumed they were calling to work out a schedule WITH me. I had to cancel most of the lessons as my mom would be out of town all week.
The day of my first lesson, I show up 5 minutes before the scheduled time (11 a.m.). My instructor had been waiting for me since 10:30 (our meeting spot was my parents' house since I live in the Southtowns). I wish I'd known he was showing up 30 minutes early because I felt like an a-hole.
The lessons were great, but there was definitely confusion on how to take payments. The instructor called in my credit card after every lesson, yet the office told me he did no such thing and I'd only paid for 2 of 5 lessons (I watched him call my card in every time, but whatever). Also my instructor told me it was pay-per-lesson, yet I later found out that the package I wanted required a large down payment the first lesson. No big deal, though it shows the lack of communication between the office and the instructors.
Lastly, after 5 lessons my instructor told me that I would need to take a 5-hour course so they could schedule a road test, then we would schedule my last 4 lessons close to the test date. Cool. So I took the course and called them to schedule a road test and more lessons. The secretary tells me she will schedule a road test and call me right back. Days go by, then weeks. Nothing. (Note: a few days after calling, I have a baby, which is why I didn't call them to check). After recovering from childbirth I call them and schedule more lessons. The secretary tells me to bring my 5-hour certificate to my lesson to schedule a road test (they were supposed to do it immediately over the phone several weeks ago, but now I have to bring it? Ok...) No apology for forgetting about me for weeks or anything either.
Anyway, in summary, good driving instruction, really bass-ackwards office. read more
