I'm awesome here at the University for variety of things, none of them involve famous student. Although I was one many years ago. Recently, I was here twice once for a celebration of milestone. One of the university areas reached, which was held in an outside space that was really quite lovely. The food serve was good. The space was easy to navigate was all nice. The acoustic system left a little bit to be desired but other than that they did a great job. Unless you're coming at night, parking here can be very challenging. Be sure to read the signs or you will get a ticket of some sort. read more

I transferred to UB and attended from 06-08. Overall my experience at UB was awesome. Most of the professors go above and beyond. 100 and some 200 level classes can have 150+ students. Most 300 level were in small classrooms. The north campus building are very odd looking. I was told by a UB staff that this was done purposely. I have visited a handful of other SUNY colleges and UB is by far the biggest and nicest. D1 football here. HORNS UP. Besides the university, Buffalo is a great city to live in. It is considered a large city but is small for being a large city. There are a ton of things to do year round. Amazing food options. Bills and Sabres. If you are interested in the SUNY system, would prefer a large campus and has the major you are wanting I would highly recommend applying to UB. read more

After dumping $60,000 at this sub-par school, they're now cancelling Alumni email access after decades. This place does not care about it's students. And it's reputation doesn't mean squat to employers. You'd be better off finding similar programs and majors at Cheaper colleges or Community College. UB is just a joke. read more

I can't write a really long review today because my computer is saying "Buffer Low." If you come to this Uni, make sure UB careful about the cops, and UB wrapping up warm when it's winter. So you want me to tell you what's ub with this University, and I will proceed to tell you all UBout it. I started off wanting to give UB 5 stars, because it's such a massive beautiful campus - especially in the summertime, despite the harrowing 27 months of winter per year. And having Kung Fu tea located on campus just makes it a ten star place instead of a five-star place....... but then there's the cops. They have their own police department, loaned to them by Amherst Police. They arrested me twice for absolutely nothing ("Loitering" and "Trespassing" when visiting friends/ex gf who live on campus), so I have to deduct a star for them. Charges dropped, DA admitted the officer was in the wrong and they were "nothing arrests." Minus 1 star. Then there's the insane amounts of tuition, and yet they are not willing to properly take care of the walkways or the parking lot so it's often just like a skating rink and absolutely extraordinary dangerous. That gets them down to three stars. And then you have the rather disappointing proposition that they're trying to make as much money as possible off of the businesses in the Commons by not allowing any students to use their meal plans there so that their own in-house businesses can reap all the benefits from the meal plans. And what that means is that they end up with 2 stars from me. Which is a real shame. My past review is as follows: I come to North Campus all the time and it's absolutely gorgeous. They have a wonderful location of Kung Fu Tea with the coolest owners, which is one of the best chains of bubble tea. Try Lemon Black with Tapioca, Berry Black Tea (not on menu), or Honey Oolong Milk Tea. The Korean Express restaurant has absolutely wonderful food and large portions. One of my fave Korean places anywhere. Dancing Chopsticks has excellent katsu and other great food as well. Even Rachel's has some good Kofte Kabob, give it a try. This campus has a spectacular big lake, and the campus is massive, expansive and extensive. This gorgeous woodland campus is one of the nicest I've seen. read more

North Campus is where I had most of my classes. The great: you can get around most of this campus without going outside. I think only Slee Hall & the CFA/Alumni Arena are not connected. It's quite amazing that such a huge square radius and campus is interconnected. It reminds me of an intricate subway system. Unfortunately, the architecture isn't much to look at, although the CFA is a pretty building and the Pointe behind it with the pond is beautiful. There are certainly picturesque parts of campus. The Commons is also on North Campus near the bookstore. Even if you're not a student, you can park for free for an hour in this parking lot and patronize some of the businesses in The Commons. There's a bubble tea place and a Korean place that are highly regarded. There are some 24/7 libraries, but if you're not a student and reading this, you probably shouldn't creep on them. UB's a good place. I have fond memories of the University at the time I spent at North Campus. read more

The building architecture on the north campus is unfortunately less picturesque than the south campus and other schools I've attended, but this campus has everything you need and one of its perks is that many of the buildings are connected so that in the winter or during bad weather you can get to where you need to be without needing to spend a lot of time outside. read more

It seems a little odd that for a university decision one would be looking at Yelp but, hey, why not? As someone who did two degrees at UB and an additional degree elsewhere, I can say that UB gives you the best value for your money. The academics are strong. On campus life - in the dorms and in terms of activities - is vibrant. And, the cost is considerably more reasonable than many other options. The degrees are well-respected as well, which is essential. You don't want to trade paying less for getting less. You also have options to decrease your costs, including academic scholarship programs, scholarship contests, work study, and programs like the Resident Advisor one in the dorms. Overall, if you want to stay local - or move to a fun city with thriving cultural, culinary, and creative communities - UB is a great option. read more

UB changed my life and was a result of phenomenal professors, approachable academic advisors, friendly peers and the campus environment in general. If I could stay at UB forever I would. This institution is everything you could want in a school and sets the stage for an unforgettable academic experience. The saying goes, "You get out what you put in" and while that's true at UB, its easy to put in 100% because it is reciprocated by faculty and that is hard to find. Coming as a transfer student, I was apprehensive about what my time at UB would be like. I used a map for the first month because the campuses can be difficult to master. There are various lots that are faculty only and then some that accept students. The biggest flaw UB has is its parking system. There is fewer staff than number of students, therefore there SHOULD be adequate parking for each student and there is not. The convenient parking lots are for faculty and students get the shaft. Luckily, I was able to create a system for when the parking police would drive by and issue tickets. I park in the faculty lots during hours I know tickets aren't being dispensed. This is NOT recommended. It took me about six months and twenty tickets to master this schedule. The signs can be tricky. Once you enter a lot, do not drive across into the conjoined lot because the rules are different once you cross over. You may think you're in student parking, but a ticket, stomping on the ground in anger, ripping it up and $20 later, you could be wrong. If you can find a spot in Ketter Lot, you are golden. It's a prime time lot to make it to all of your classes on North, of course with the exception of Ellicott which is just so inconveniently located. Fernas Lot is for FACULTY ONLY. Made that mistake a handful of times. If you are parked in a lot, keep your car there until you need to leave campus and take the bus if need be. You are not going to want to be driving around looking for spots in the dead of winter, it is not fun and oftentimes causes you to be late for classes. Also, if you get a ticket, PAY IT. Do not bother appealing, it never goes through. Fees increase after 14 days so get on it. The commons are a great place to get involved. Lots of people out and about seeking to recruit new members into their clubs and organizations. You have to take an active role here at UB. I know it may seem intimidating to go up to a booth and introduce yourself, but do it! I find that the students at UB are some of the most genuine I have ever known, they want you to be a part of the awesome community UB has to offer. You won't be sorry! Step out of your element and it will only enhance your overall experience here. Food wise, if you are on North Campus: Eat at Rachels, make sure you get on the Starbucks line with a good twenty minutes to spare, don't get avocado from Edgie Veggies, Au Bon Pain in Greiner is my favorite place to eat, tons of healthy options (soups, salads, wraps) and killer coffee, Perks is overpriced and oftentimes you may think its a good place to study but it's NOISY, Wrap It Up has great hummus wraps, Baldy walkway has great coffee and they have a hot water dispenser available 24 hours so when you are pulling all nighters in Baldy bring your tea bag and to go mug, capen cafe has bad coffee and they only offer whole milk or cream, moes is always clutch and pistachios is where you bring your parents if they want to eat on campus (they have delicious pasta). Walk, ride your bike, run, jump rope, scooter, skateboard whatever on the bike path past Lake LaSalle and take lots of pictures. The sunsets over this lake are breathtaking. Alumni arena is usually packed during the day so get there at 6 am or suffer. Go to basketball, baseball and football games, they are SO MUCH FUN. Buy tons of UB gear, but not from the Bookstore unless you have a lot of money. The bookstore, while really plentiful is super expensive. They have champion style hoodies which is obviously the best quality, but too pricey. You are better off going to the commons, they have awesome deals on clothes, or go into the store located in the student union. There are always discounted shirts and sweatshirts at either of those locations. The UB Bookstore also makes you leave your purse in cubbies, I am never ever a fan of that so leave your personals in the car. There are timed parking passes for the bookstore allowing you to park in their lot for thirty minutes at a time. My favorite library to study at was the Health Science Library, 2nd floor on South. Capen gets packed and is hot. Baldy walkway is good during finals week until 3 am which is when they turn the heat off. At that point in time, duck into one of the classrooms in Baldy, they are heated. You'll find that if you explore campus enough you will find secret study spots. Dang, I need 500 more characters. I must say that UB is just another money making business. There is no way anyone can really learn anything there. The atmosphere is very unprofessional. I tried to get help from a person named Kim B. but she didn't quite understand what I was talking about. She must be a new employee and doesn't know her job yet. This so called University sure needs to find employees with a brain in their heads to do a professional job. There are a lot of great colleges out there to choose from. I suggest really taking a hard look at other colleges before wasting money attending here. read more

This is a great school for research, science, and to learn just about anything you could need for a successful career. The campus is absolutely massive looking like a small city from the highway and it can feel that way as well. The economic impact of UB cannot be overstated from all the local businesses, restaurants, and other companies nearby that cater to or help the students and campus to run. That said, it's a great place. I went here for school and so have many of my friends and others that I know. They have a ton of food options in their food courts throughout the campus and they have plenty of activities going on all the time. Parking is a nightmare and nearly always a problem. Coming during a weekday? Plan on taking a walk and be mindful of the signs of when you can/cannot park in certain locations because the UB police force doesn't mess around with giving out tickets. That said, central location, good education, and world reputation help to make this place special and we are lucky to have a university like it in Buffalo. read more

I'm attending UB for Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering and I love this place. I'll be here until I get my Ph.D. (someday) and the education I'm getting is more than what I was getting back in NYC at Hunter College. There are TONS of free or very low cost health services for students. There's a clinic at South Campus for both medical and mental health and there's also a pharmacy that can get you generics for cheap. Plus, there are gyms on both North and South Campus and always tons of things to do for those who have the time (i.e. non-engineering students). I'm a student with a disability and I have a whole army of support from the kindest and most caring counselors I've every come into contact with. If you are a student with ANY type of disability, these will be your BFF's for life. When my dad died this year and I had to withdraw the semester, I had a huge army of caring staff and supporters guiding me through the process of exit and re-entry of academia. I've had therapists, mental and academic advisors, and even administrative folks guiding me in and out of a very hard time in my life and I can't be more grateful. Go Bulls! read more

UB is a second home to me now... I spent 4 years in undergrad, 3 years in law school, and after a three year rumspringa away, I've now returned as a full time employee of the place working towards the goal of making it even better than it's been. I can't say enough about this University... the possibilities available to you are really endless, not to be so cliche, but it's really true. It is a big place so you have to but the effort into making it your own: but you will get out of it what you put into it, times 10. The amenities on campus are great and are only increasing. You never have to leave (even though you should venture out into the amazing world of Buffalo) but you can get a haircut, buy a great necklace, get your scripts and tissues at CVS, buy an entire UB inspired wardrobe, and have your choice of about 20 different dining options including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Mediterranean, Delifood, Subway, Pizza, FroYo, Starbucks, Au Bon Pain, Sushi, Moe's, several Tim Horton's... this list continues. And on top of all this... UB is only getting better and better by the day, and is a leader and "flagship university" in the SUNY family of schools. There's a club for whatever you care about... a major for whatever you want to do with your life... and no doubt a group of friends within its incredibly diverse population that you'll keep for the rest of your life. I attended UB for two years and had a very negative experience from the moment I arrived on campus. Majority of professors either didn't speak English or had their TAs teach the majority of their lectures. On top of that even my "small" classes were generally over 35 students. For some reason two of my classes were not applied to my CAPP report properly and I spent nearly 4 hours running around to different offices getting forms signed so they could fulfill my requirements. I ended up leaving and transferring to a school in Colorado. I would never recommend UB to anyone. read more

I've practically lived at UB for a good portion of the last 15 years. Completed undergrad on North Campus, completed grad school mostly on South Campus, and have worked various jobs here as well. As far as value goes, if you're local, UB is the best higher public education institute in the area. If you are a student, there are so many opportunities for work-study, student assistantships, and graduate assistantships that can save you a ton of money in tuition expenses. If you are any sort of employee here, there are great perks as well. One thing I particularly enjoy is that there is almost always a free meal to be had somewhere. Not to mention, discounts through phone companies, inexpensive computer software purchases, and other cool things. I will always deduct one star though because being a commuter campus, parking is a major buzzkill. And in the frozen north, where the wind can make an unbearable cold day more completely unbearable, you will have to bundle up to get from the parking lots to the buildings in the cold weather months, which is typically the entire fall and spring semesters. Come prepared with comfortable footwear and gear for the type of weather you will be facing, and enjoy yet another perk of getting all of your steps in. Dr. Oz will be proud of all of your movement. And there will probably be a free meal or snack or trinket along the way as well. read more

Really loved my time at UB (2004-2008). This is a huge school so it can be a bit daunting to find your own little niche community, but it can be done! There are literally thousands of things to do on campus each day, so find what it is you like to do and chances are there will be someone there to do it with you! North Campus is a modern-architecture hodge-podge but it's spacious, clean, and quiet during class. South Campus is a bit older and looks more like a traditional campus would (stately buildings etc).I was generally situated on North Campus... That campus is insanely easy to get around and by the 4th year I finally figured out how to use the tunnel system for every class ...nice to avoid the snow. When all possible DO NOT DRIVE - take a bus, hitch a ride etc....parking was the ONE major pitfall (shutters). Lived a year in the dorms- nice, very typical, you aren't being lorded over (a plus). The furniture is standard but its super convenient to food/drinks/bike path/bus to campus... Food is pretty standard (definitely not exceptional) but they do their best to cater to everyone's needs so if its vegan or kosher you prefer they can help you. Of course food not included in the meal plan was much better (Campus Cafe & Pinocchio's being my two favorites....still crave them now). 90% of the professors here rock. It is a research institution so you will find the occasional one who is frazzled and scurrying to meet a publishing deadline. Overall there are boundless opportunities to be had and at a decent price. I would highly recommend! read more

This review is specifically for a UB football game. We went to the Saturday afternoon Bulls vs. Miami Ohio division game a few weeks ago. Tickets are regularly priced at $30 a pop, which I would never pay for a college football game, but there was a flash sale for $15 tix so I decided to pick them up. Glad I did, it was a lot of fun! The pre-game tailgate has free music (Night Rider was there on this day--MOTORIN'!!), activities for the kids, raffles, food trucks, and lots of other food. I had an egg-and-cheese from the Cheesy Chick that was all toasty-crunchy-gooey goodness. It is bleacher seating in the stadium, but my butt was so frozen I couldn't feel it anyway, so that was fine. The half-time marching band did a cool mix of old and new songs. The crowd was generally family-friendly and energized throughout the game, especially since the Bulls are 8-1 (soon to be 9-1 once tonight's game is over). Docked a star because the parking situation getting onto campus was ri-donk. I work on campus, and am used to crazy traffic and parking, but this was somehow even worse. Avoid the Millersport entrance at all costs if you go to a game, better off coming in from Sweet Home and getting as close as you can get from that direction. Since then, my husband, bro and son went back for a Tuesday night game, and froze but had fun again. If you can score a deal on tickets, all the better reason to check out the blue-hot Bulls this year on their road to a bowl game--be a part of their historic charge to the history books! #UBhornsUP read more

Come here if you have very little money to afford an education in an IVY league school or something like that. Come here if you aren't bothered with mediocre teaching styles from people who are more at home with research. Come here also if you love the countryside, you love socializing, and you absolutely love parties. With an insane number of student clubs and a sea of international students, fun and diversity is one thing you'll never miss here. I study in the school of engineering (SEAS) and applied sciences. This university taught me, so I'd rather not be a dog biting his own master who fed him. Its an OK place really. There are people saying "Oh thats how all universities are" but I still have got to experiment with that idea. read more

From the dining halls to the commons where KE resides also known as Korean Express where you can get kimbob home style, spicy pork with kimchee fried rice and curry rice soooo delish- probably one of the many reasons I miss UB!!! Professors here ate awesome ESP the Dr. Miller of the Sociology dept. Faculty is very helpful in times of need and the campus is beautiful! Downfalls: the student response center lines... Always lines in there and all the LI people who enroll in the school... Sweatpants cut up to your thighs in the middle of winter defeat the entire purpose of wearing sweats.... read more

One of the Best schools in Buffalo, New York. Its really really big has three campus, one in downtown, one on Main Street, and in Amherst. I love that it is very diverse and there is always something going on. So you don't have to worry about not having anything to do, if you don't feel like going clubbing or to the bar. They have so many clubs, you name it and they have it, concerts (Fall/Spring fests), Bazaars, and the list continues. This school is very active, and they offer so much. Although I would say that its more a science/law school then a art school. Some of the professors here are great, especially the ones in my department(Visual Arts/English). i do hear a lot of complaints from the science department, most of the professors are foreigners and the english might not be real good. So the students have a hard time understanding sometimes, I can say this because I took some science classes myself and dealt with that problem. Tuition is not that expensive especially if you are a resident. A bit expensive for out of state and international students, but I think it is still reasonable. There is financial aid to cover some cost, you can take out loans and also apply for scholarships. The food is pretty expensive both at the student Union and the commons(its like where they a chain of fast food stops). It ranges from indian, Mediterranean, japanese, korean, Italian, and american food. Eating at the commons is much better since there is variety, because they also accept credit/debit cards unlike the union where they only accept campus cash, dining dollars, or cash. Most students like to live off campus after their first year because the dorms are so expensive, I live at home and am a Buffalo resident so there is no need for me to live on campus. I stay at home with my parents, and I do save a lot of money. There is dorming both on south and north campus, a lot of people prefer North campus because its a bit safer, and cleaner. Most of my classes are on North Campus so its a long commute for me everyday, but I don't mind. Worst thing at this campus is the PARKING, it is the worst. If you can avoid coming to north campus to park, by all means do especially during the semester. All the parking spaces get filled up by 9:00AM. However, on South Campus there is much parking space. You can park there and catch the Stampede(a shuttle provided by the school), and it brings you right to North Campus. It saves you time and energy riding around trying to look for parking. Only thing is you have to wake up and leave earlier then you usually would. read more

I was coming back from class and decided I was hungry. So, I decided to check out Putnams in the Student Union. I ended up taking chicken wings. Saying that the food was revolting is an understatement. To start, the chicken wings smelled like my shoes after I play basketball. Once I finally brought myself to get over the stench, I decided to go in for a bite. Upon my first bite, I found that the chicken wing was soggy af. The wing tasted like it had been frozen and defrosted countless times. After taking a bite I realized that I'd tasted something like this before but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. And then it hit me... it tasted like expired milk. I couldn't find a way to mess wings up this bad if my life depended on it. Please steer clear of Putnams at all costs. read more

You are nothing more than dollar signs to this place and they have no interest in helping you or counseling you as struggle through the insanity of this place, it is the last place on earth to get an education. I really enjoyed UB when I was a student there (2001-2005). Some people didn't like attending such a large school but I used the large size to my advantage to get involved with research, which eventually allowed me to get a good job and admission to an excellent graduate program. My education at UB definitely prepared me well for a career and future study - I work and go to school with many people who paid an exponentially larger amount of money than I did for undergraduate study and we are both in the same place, earning similar grades! The only reason why I didn't give the full 5 stars is because (at least when I attended) some professors seemed to care more about their research than teaching. Also, UB CAN feel very impersonal at times...especially in the huge lecture halls that I had some of my classes in. If possible, I very highly recommend dorming - since UB is a big commuter school, it was tough to make friends in classes and nearly all of my friends were from my dorm. Dorming just makes the whole college experience much better. Ultimately, UB (like every other school) is what you make of it. If you want to sit around and complain, you'll probably be miserable but if you make an effort to get out and explore what UB (and Buffalo!) has to offer, you'll have a great experience. Oh, and by the way - another good thing about attending such a large school - there is pretty much a social group for everyone! If you tend to be quieter and don't want to do crazy drinking, you'll find people to hang out with...and if you are the opposite and want to just party all the time, you'll find people to do that with, too! read more

I'm not sure words can exactly capture just how amazing UB is. With it's 25,000+ students, UB can be overwhelming to any high school senior looking for a good school. My advice: don't let the size of the school deter you from seeing what it has to offer! When I was applying for colleges, the last place I wanted to go to was UB. But once there, I fell in love. Amidst the crowds of people, there are hangout spots to stay hidden, and wondrous activities to participate in. I've had conversations with many people from UB, asking why they chose to come here. The answers were varied but probably the most common is that it was CHEAP. If you're looking for a quality education for a can-do price, look no further. UB has got it. UB is currently ranked 33rd for "best bang for your buck" in education as of the New Year, and you seriously can't go wrong with the price. Finally, you'll love the atmosphere. It's nice to be able to have an intriguing conversation with the individuals that inhabit the halls. Everyone is so friendly and it was easy to meet friends and encounter like-minded scholars. I give it five stars, there's not a school that has a better combination of positive attributes than UB! read more

A lovely little University in the heart of Buffalo awaits you here. From what I could tell, the buildings were very nice and modern. The student union was closed on the day we were there though, so I can't really speak for that. But the Japanese placed looked delicious, and I highly recommend you check it out. read more

My preferred campus. Quiet, collegiate, and just beautiful. Here you will find many of UB's professional schools along and more green space than you will find anywhere on the Amherst campus. We also have a metro access point which allows for easy access to downtown. Be sure to take advantage of seeing all of the beautiful architecture while you enjoy your lunch under a shade tree. A nice historical campus with picturesque landscaping! It's a great urban education institution. South campus is home to a few of the universities schools and provides a great connection to the rest of the city using the metro rail. Not only is it the best school to attend for your $ but it's a great campus aesthetically and it is easy to navigate through for its size. I got overwhelmed with its size when choosing a college and chose a small private school. Dang...wish I went to UB. read more

Attending UB for my undergraduate AND graduate studies was the best decision I've ever made. The negative comments below are probably due to the fact that they didn't give UB a chance. Many people also complained about the administration at UB. UB is staffed with over 6,000 people. You are bound to find a few rude people out of 6,000. There are rude people no matter where you go. As for people that said there are rude people that they met off campus, I find that very hard to believe. Buffalo is known as "The City of Good Neighbors" because of how kind and easy going many people are. That doesn't mean that everyone is a bundle of joy, but I have lived in NY before coming to Buffalo and the Buffalo community has a greater bond and love for one another than anything I've ever seen in NYC area. The school was rated the best SUNY school. It is very research intensive but the school offers pretty much any program you might be interested in. There is so much to do on campus. There are always activities going on in the Student Union and transportation provided to the malls, target, Walmart etc. The college is NOT in the middle of nowhere...I am not sure why someone mentioned that in their post. One campus is located in the most thriving suburbs outside of Buffalo and the other campus is located in the city of Buffalo. Student involvement is highly promoted on this campus. Administrators try to do all they can to get students involved academically and socially. I will say that the campus located in the city of Buffalo is not the safest place at all times, but police enforcement is very dense in this area. Almost every college situated in an urban low-income setting has the same problems as the south campus of UB. It is not the University's fault for what surrounds the school. Also keep in mind that many of the surrounding homes are rented by families and students. It is not flooded with gangs. But if you live on the North campus (Amherst suburb), it is one the safest areas you can live in in the state of NY. Come to this school if you want to be a part of an incredibly diverse student body, eat great food, and graduate from one of the best public colleges of one of the greatest educated states in this country. read more

I mean school is school so it's not the greatest thing ever but UB is great! I spent my first two years of college at Niagara County Community College and it was horrible. Those two years were a drag, the campus was small, and it had the feel of still being in high school. I transferred to UB and have been here for the last year and a half. The feel is so much different. The campus is huge but it's awesome and you feel like you're actually in college while you're there, unlike at NCCC. I have some great teachers already in my time here that actually keep me engaged in class. There's a ton of places to eat on campus with a huge variety of foods. As a history major, I find myself in Park Hall a lot and its one of my least favorite buildings on campus so that's saying something if I still love it there. The biggest downside of going to UB is that it is primarily a commuter school so parking is very difficult if you don't arrive for class at 9am or earlier. There's a million things to say about UB but the only thing you need to know is that it's a great school with an awesome campus so find a reason to check it out! Even just to check out a guest speaker (which they have a bunch of great ones every year) or a sporting event. These public events are relatively cheap so there's no reason not to check out the campus! read more

Worst administration so far experienced. It took 3 paycheks for my first direct deposit in the bank. All the paperwork was promptly done upon joining, but then the administration building was just chewing on those for 3 months. read more

I am transferring from this college after 1 year. I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE. This college is not for everyone. Coming from NYC, its a really big difference! Other than the weather being horrible 99% of the time, I was really frustrated with some of the administration and lack of amenities. In this school you are nothing but a number and a $ dollar sign. I am disappointed with some of the deans from the department. Incompetent, rude and nonchalant when I needed to add a class for my major and financial aid and received no help whatsoever. For the sciences and mathematics this school is good, otherwise for all other majors it's mediocre to sour since its a research school. You also need a car! Transportation is bad and runs hourly. It was a bad experience when the weather gets worse and most of the time schools is still in session. I will only miss the 24/ computer labs and friendly Mall shuttle bus drivers. Otherwise most people I met have bad social skills, I don't know if this a upstate culture mentality? I've met few friends but there's a weird vibe here! As a transfer student, I was surprised at having classes where students are cliche and stick with their own circle. Most professors I've had have been awful and boring. I expected better from Buffalo, and can't wait to go back to NYC, this school is not worth your money. Yes, college is what you make of it but also its an investment.
