Had such a great time! Great staff / captains. Fun boat ride. Great music. Coolers are right in the middle for easy grabs. I would recommend this for a large group of friends.

Terrible time. Weather forecast was 90% thunderstorm the entire day, but instead of cancelling and refunding/rescheduling us the tour went on. 10 minutes in it was raining and shortly after the thunder and lightning started. The boat turned around and we were notified we'd be getting a 50% gift card to return and told we should be grateful they're looking out for our safe being (I don't doubt that part, but it was used to get us to appreciate the credit). We got not even 1/4 of the experience but we're told we'd only get 1/2 our payment back, and we're still waiting on that. Very disappointing, many people in the group are out-of-towner's so rescheduling is very difficult and I am not inclined to come back beyond being forced to use our credit from the disappointing trip.

Great fun, especially with a group of friends. Very friendly staff who really want their customers to have a good time. The views of the city from the water are always enjoyable as they are such a different perspective than the usual one while driving. BYOB option is great and keeps the refreshment costs down.

Totally fun idea for a group outing! We got a small sample of their tours during a special event, but normally it's a 2 hour tour, which is really worth the value! Do it during the sunset and you'll get some great photos

Are you looking for a fun new experience on the water? If so, book a time slot on the cycle boat! You can book the whole boat or book individual seats. It is BYOB, but no glass allowed for safety reasons. You can also bring food and play music through their sound system! We were lucky enough to have the owner as our Captain and he was a super fun addition to a boat full of fun people. Not one of us had any intention of pedaling, but no worries since they have a motor! We went up the river a bit, then turned back to head toward Canalside. The views are spectacular, and the vibe was perfect. Make sure you park on the opposite side of the river from Riverworks as they dock by the apartments/Tewksbury Lodge.

    Another great view (almost sunset!)

Had a chance to try Buffalo CycleBoats during a Yelp event, and I had a great time! I love that they encourage you to bring your own food, drinks, and music, so you can enjoy your ideal party as you paddle down the Buffalo River with friends. It's hilarious to laugh and wave at other boaters and pedestrians (yup, you look ridiculous, but you have a cooler full of beer and a big awning over you), and the time goes by fast. You'll learn some new Buffalo trivia from the captains, many of whom have operated local history tours in the past, and see some Insta-worthy panoramas along the way. And if you're worried that you're not physically up to the challenge of 2 hours on a bike seat, know that you don't have to constantly pedal to power the boat (though it can make you go faster). If you can, book an evening timeslot so you can watch the sun set over some of Buffalo's best-known waterfront landmarks.

Great time on the canal with Captain Nick and Deckhand Bova! They were playing all the hits and giving us historical facts!

We had a wonderful time on Buffalo Cycle Boats!! It was a beautiful night and Captain Morgan was the best! Bringing your own drinks and snacks was great. They have two coolers where you sit. Bring ice as they do not provide. Hook up your phone and they let you blast the music! So much fun! Thank you for one of my best nights of summer!

They offer a history tour, tiki boat ride, and a sailboat ride--just note the each sailing requires at least eight people to sail. They will cancel the door if they do not have eight people so call the J before to see how many people are booked on your sailing. I did the sunset sail, and it was fantastic. Tickets were $42 ($54 with a cocktail). There's a full bar and light snacks on board, plus a restroom. The sail lasted about two hours. There were only 25 guests onboard. This made the boat feel spacious and relaxed. The views were stunning--sunset over the Buffalo skyline, sailing past the Peace Bridge, and city lights on the way back. The crew was friendly and fun, and the captain went out of his way to chat and even raise the Bills flag for photos. Pro tip: bring a jacket or blanket, it gets chilly! I think it would be a great idea if they sold inexpensive blankets with the ship name on them for $10-$15. People would've bought them because it was cold and They would also make a great souvenir.

It wasn't that crowded we each had our own space to chat or sit and reflect and enjoy the scenery. The price was good and for 2 hours worth it. Drinks were offered and served for purchase. Both times we had Captain Dave, a tall gentleman with salt and pepper hair. He spoke rudely to a handful of customers and both of his bartenders. The first time we assumed he was having an off day, but seeing this attitude a second time on a different boat was shocking and disappointing. Perhaps the customers and bartenders were rude to him first, but regardless, it was inappropriate for others to witness. He also mentions at the start of the ride that there is no vaping onboard, which we found to be more than reasonable. However, my wife and I saw HIM vaping while driving the boat?! Additionally, we felt as if the drinks were overtly overpriced -- 2 oz well liquor for $12 is insane! No bar I have been to in the Buffalo area charges that much for a well cocktail. However, we did feel as if the price of the tour itself was reasonable. The music was also not to our liking, but we understand it is challenging to accommodate everyone. But, it would have been nice to suggest a song or two. Unfortunately, a few of our friends have has similar experiences.... We wished we had a better experience, but as it stands now, we will not return nor recommend this place to others.
