Maintenance calls are not responded to quickly and staff "lost" several of my work orders. I also had a washing machine break on my three times which is hugely inconvenient. The lint catchers in the dryers are needed to be replaced due to neglect but never were and always left lint on my laundry. The wall are very thin and you hear almost everything other residents are doing. I also never felt fully safe in the halls or outside due to the frequent cat calling from other residents. The swipe card system they use is beyond flawed. My card deactivated at once a week leaving me to have to wait sometimes up to an hour for someone to let me in and lecture me about keeping my card away from my keys, phone, and other cards (which it was always kept separate and was a major inconvenience because it couldnt be kept in my wallet or in my purse due to that). Management is very petty and catty. They do not have the best interest of the students at heart and just want profit. They never cared that my room had no wifi signal, roommate issues, and how snobby their staff was. Worst place I've ever lived at by far, anyone looking to live here should seriously consider living university edge or downtown if they have to live on campus. If you can live with a short drive, look at off campus apartments.

The baseball coach (that recruited my son) Gillispie left YSU, so my son requested a release of his NLI and the university released him without penalty, yet the owner of the Wick (US Campus Suites will not release our son from his 12-month lease. He has never occupied the lease, and since this complex works closely with student housing, we expected them to be upstanding and understand the situation rather than Punishing an 18-year old freshman for a situation out of his control. They said we could sublet and get out of the lease that way, but we feel they are not doing the right thing and hiding behind a piece of paper. We are trying everything (from California it is difficult to get a sublet to fill his spot) Be careful what you sign and understand the type of business with whom you are dealing (doesn't do the right thing- all about the $$$). There are so many positive things to say about this institution both academically and personally…read more The academic: I graduated from YSU in 1983. My late wife graduated in 1982. YSU offered hope for so many young people of my generation. We witnessed, first hand, the harsh reality of deindustrialization on a town dominated by a single industry. Our prospects locally were bleak, our parents were unfamiliar with the strategies required to navigate this new economic landscape, so our hopes rested on an education. YSU was our local option. Back then, it was relatively inexpensive too. Tuition was low compared to today's standards, and grants and scholarships were easy to come by. YSU was a step or two behind the computer wave, but they adapted enough to provide me with the education needed to land and hold a 38 year career with a large tech company. I did have to move to get that job, but we never lost touch with this area, the people, and YSU. Years later, we were able to move back to the area. When my wife decided to become a mental health counselor, she again turned to YSU to get her BA in Psychology. This enabled her to eventually become a School Psychologist in one of the city's high schools. Our educations paid dividends beyond our wildest expectations. We provided well for our family, my wife helped countless youth who were struggling with a difficult start in life, and it gave us the opportunity to travel and experience things that those who lived in past generations, tied to the steel mills, would have struggled to access. I believe YSU is still a great place to gain the foundation to put yourself on a path to a fulfilling life. And who knows, you just might meet that person to spend the rest of your life with. The personal: This is where my wife and I met. Inner Circle Pizza, across the street and now closed, served as the lunch spot for our earliest "dates". We started a conversation there that turned into a 38.5 year love affair and marriage. I came back on what would have been our 39th anniversary. It was 7 months since she passed. I was so happy that Cushwa Hall, Kilcawley Center, and the Maag Library were all open so I could retrace some of the most memorable steps of my long life. The campus has changed. The green spaces have filled in beautifully. The veneer on the buildings and surrounding thoroughfares has been polished, taking on the air of any other fine university town that I've visited. Like me and my late wife, the university has shaken off some of that grittiness that was endemic in this town oh so many years ago. But it hasn't lost the values that made this area such a great place in which to be rooted. I'll forever be thankful for YSU's purpose, mission, and presence in my life.

Only negative thing I have to say is when the weather is bad in the winter, I mean REALLY bad, they RARELY cancel class...even when all the local school districts are closed, you'll have to make your way through the snow/rain/ice/blizzard to school. Also, the parking situation isn't that great, but I suspect it's like that at most commuter colleges. Letter grade: B

If I could give this "university" 0 stars I would. The dorms are infested with rats, cockroaches,…read moreand BLACK MOLD, which is extremely carcinogenic and toxic to students' health. In almost every room, at least something is broken or doesn't work, such as broken drawers, broken AC units (where students freeze to death), and showers that don't even have hot water. The dorm manager, Robert Zielinski, does not care about students. He'll claim he'll fix the issues yet never does. His only concern is cashing in a check while he'll gladly let students suffer in miserable living conditions. He's the biggest scammer of them all!! Now onto the academic portion/curriculum. This place shouldn't even be called a university, it's a sketchy "family business" because everyone is related to each other somehow. The professors aren't even real doctors and have 0 clinical experience themselves or haven't practiced in years. HSF (a course that all students are required to take) is 4 courses in ONE! Histology, embryology, anatomy, and physiology. Not breaking these classes up into their own entity and combining them is the reason most students fail and will have to repeat the ENTIRE semester (which is the goal since this university and their staff are money hungry scammers). They are not qualified to teach, they belittle their students on a daily basis, and expect you to come to class knowing all the info , and do not teach their students. If you wanna ruin your mental health, your physical well being, and receive a poor education, then this is the perfect place for you!!!!!!!

I was really looking for a company that would be able to pick up my large king comforter and clean it properly without ruining it which I have done in the past by trying to wash it myself lol! I am very pleased with the service. I appreciate the pricing transparency as well. I ended up going with this company because other companies pricing is confusing, so I didn't really know what to expect. I liked the flat rate this company offers per bag. Mike was our delivery driver, and he really paid attention to our delivery notes and made sure he left it in the correct spot. The text updates on pickup and delivery were also very helpful as far as time management. They did a great job at washing my comforter, I was able to leave requests, preferences etc. I can't say enough good things. This is my first time using a wash and fold service, so I'm pretty stoked this is another thing I don't have to worry about because i know Spin cycle has got that chore done for me
