The place was very quiet with wonderful lighting and a very calming overall atmosphere. The service was also great, very prompt and polite. Of course, we loved the food, too. The tuna tartar was divine, the eggplant and mozzarella millefoille was very good, and the potato soup they gave as a free appetizer was delicious. The ravioli with cheese and speck (which is a type of bacon, we found out) was a huge crowd favorite, and the foal meat tasted like a very high-quality steak. We had their tiramisu for dessert, and it was one of the best tiramisus, if not the best, tiramisus we had ever tasted. The only knock is the the restaurant is that it is very unassuming from the outside and is easy to miss, but I highly recommend finding it for a near-flawless meal.

I do wish we walked a bit further into the actual town inside of Sirmione to get our dinner but still happy about this place. I ordered the bacon-wrapped scallops as the starter that was awesome. Very tasty and a great start to the meal. My main was the dish they are known for, apparently, it is 7+ years old, never changed the recipe. I really enjoyed the flavor and taste of this. My wife kept trying to steal bites, she didn't really care for her super fishy pasta. The fish overwhelmed any other traces of flavor. The price was a little high but you really are paying for the classiness and view of the place. I would not return here but enjoyed my meal.

Truly the best food I have eaten in the city. The owner and the staff were amazing but the food is the real star. We tried 7 plates in total, plus a lovely gazpacho from the chef. For me the standout was the Veat tartare served on Veal bone marrow, but in truth I couldn't find fault with any of the dishes. This is a rare post for me these days and I am only posting as this restaurant was outstanding. Well worth the 10 minute walk from the Arena.

It was quiet when we arrived at noon and then filled up quite a lot by the time we departed. Clearly, a restaurant for the locals. First course, a big pile of a pasta called "bigolini" which I've not seen before. It is like thick spaghetti with a rough surface. That is needed because the sauce on it was quite thick and another interesting taste - nettles. Definitely different. Second course, risotto made with a red wine reduction. Very flavorful and rich and the pasta was perfectly al dente. We'll definitely need to return to here for dinner! [Review 16980 overall - 185 in Italy - 496 of 2022.]

The restaurant is very cute (free WiFi) and homey feeling with an exposed brick interior and interesting decoration choices throughout the space. If you're so inclined there's also and outdoor patio area. Maybe we just ordered poor menu items but the food was underwhelming and not particularly standout. For our anti pasta course we went with the cured meat trio with polenta. The meats weren't particularly good and combined with the bland polenta it just wasn't a good combo. For our primi pasta course we had the bigoli in a horse (yes horse) bolognese sauce. Of our three dishes this was the best. For our main meat course with did horse cheeks braised in an Amarone wine sauce with polenta. I didn't like the polenta any better on our second dish and the cheek just didn't do it for me. I ended up leaving the bulk of the dish uneaten. All in all-maybe I just ordered poorly but I if I ever make it back to Verona this spot will be a pass for me.
