FYI Bud's... I had every intention of purchasing the handgun @ $1700, a red dot sight for it (Probably gonna cost about $500 for one that would handle the caliber of a 460 S&W) and 100 rounds each of 45 long, 44 Cassule, and S&W 460 (at roughly $2 per round average lost an additional sale of $600!) Customer service is terrible. A week after I placed my order I got an email asking me to call them???? After being on hold for quite some time they told me that they didn't have the items I ordered and asked if I would like something else??? Hit this place with my son to fire off a few 9mm rounds. Gun range was well attended, and shell casings were being removed as we shot off rounds. Good to see casings were being cleaned up for safer walking conditions. Sliding target can be easily set by user. You select your preferred distance and can bring in the target to see results whenever you want. Clean safety glasses and ear protection are provided if needed. I see a trend here with Buds. Their customer service is shit. Good deals. Shit customer service. They don't seem to care. I only came to them originally because of hicock45 on YouTube who frequently promotes them and sends customers their way only for them to be ungrateful to him as "Troy", the Bud's butthurt supervisor, told me that they are not associated with hicock45. (Nevermind they send him guns to showcase on his channel.) The same with their attitude towards The Gun Range who they have listed as one of their FFL dealers. I was also treated like a felon and had my order cancelled because the ID address didn't match my residential address. "Joe" from The Gun Range said that it actually wouldn't be a problem as long as I provided proof of residence. Troy said that the fact The Gun Range pointed out was merely an 'opinion on the situation' and Buds would enforce their whimsical, illogical unwritten policy. I mean, not to stereotype the low IQ of people in the south because the southern hospitality one was definitely wrong but... Anyway, I have attached the correspondence with these clowns. Two experiences: A few years ago, I ordered ammunition thru Buds. The exterior of the package arrived great, but the contents were a disaster. The 2 of boxes of 9mm were perfect, mint condition, but the bunch of little boxes of Russian TulAmmo for my AK were crushed & torn, and loose bullets scattered throughout, rolling everywhere, some worked their way into the wads of crumpled packing paper. Most rattled around as though the box were maracas. With the exterior box and 2 boxes of 9mm being in great shape, and only the AK ammo a shambles, it was obvious whatever happened occurred in Bud's' fulfillment center/warehouse: pallets of TulAmmo hit by a forklift, or otherwise knocked over/collapsed (I've seen stacked pallets of freight knocked over & busted open before) and scattered/spread all over the warehouse floor. Clearly, my purchase was hand-scooped up off the floor and tossed into the box, sealed up and shipped to me. Buds Customer Service apparently expected us to have filmed the box upon arrival and during opening, etc., but were not young social media generation types who video everything we do. So since we hadn't done that, Customer Service couldn't blame UPS for what could not have been YPS's fault anyway, and they were ultimately of no help to us. But, the bullets still cycle thru the AK, so "all's well that ends well", but I refrained from doing business with Buds for a long time. Today, my dad is in town to visit. We went to Buds and rented a fully automatic M4, bought the (maximum!) 3 magazines of 5.56 NATO to feed it, and a half-hour of range time. Costs a fair amount, but then where else can you legally go full auto? Cole gave us a great safety briefing: thorough & informative for those who don't know range rules or M4 operations, yet without talking down to those already in-the-know; then he supervised our "rock 'n' roll" session which, like sex the first time, was over all too soon, because you can only get maximum of 3 magazines! Cole went to put the M4 away and left us under Nick's supervision as we shot our own guns 'n' ammo. Nick was fun to chat with about ... anything and everything, really, while he remained very professional - very diplomatic when reminding you of a rule you accidentally cut corners on & quick to compliment your skill set. Overall, Cole & Nick made for a great time at the range. read more

I did a Gun FFL Transfer at Buds Sevierville Gun Shop today. They charged me $35.00 which I thought was too much to charge for a simple Gun Transfer. I have had Gun FFL Transfers before and the price has been $15.00 or $20.00 and never more. I have read lots of negative reviews about Buds Gun Shop and now I understand why there are so many negative reviews. When I was there today I noticed that they had very few customers. I was a longtime fan of the Bud's website as they used to have some decent deals and I actually didn't even know they had started opening retail stores until I saw this one. I have to say I haven't looked at Buds website in quite a long while as the great deals they used to have don't seem to be around often these days. Overall this store seemed to have an interesting selection like a general sporting goods store with clothing mixed in with some C&R rifles out on display along with more modern weapons back behind the counter and in cases. They actually had a lot less stuff than I thought a Buds store would have but it was an interesting experience to check this place out. Overall it is probably telling that I still have never purchased anything from Buds online or in their stores even after DECADES of checking them out occasionally. read more

The range personnel are extremely friendly and helpful. Most of the sales reps at the counters are, as well. When I was curious about a magnifier for my red dot, the guy behind the long gun counter, mounted the one I was curious about on rifle with my dot so I could see how it worked. I've been to buds a couple dozen times now and spent good amount of money with them, they don't always have the best prices in store like advertised on website and they do not match online prices for ammo, I ran into that problem with them seen it advertised drove hour away to buy ammo and they will not match online buds advertised prices and claimed because of shipping. The customer service can be hit or miss depending on the day,person and how busy they are, better to go early morning and not on weekends, few of the employees are just not friendly people to deal with an Copt an attitude when asking simple questions or asking if something is instock, other employees are the nicest as can be an more then glad to help with any questions or needs, the shooting range is pretty nice, employee named Coleman was so kind and helpful dude deserves a raise, always friendly and helpful, also the two advanced carry instructors are very kind, helpful an knowledgeable. I had a gun shipped from Palmetto State Armory here. The men at the counter were rude from the get go, we came in and stood in a line that said "wait here" while they looked at us & said nothing, didn't even acknowledge us. When my husband walked around to look at stuff on the other side of the little divider thing then they acknowledged him. I made a joke about the wait sign and how we waited there because that's what it said, he then said "yea we've got one over there if you wanted to wait over there haha". He then mansplained how to fill out an application and when I asked a question about one of the questions (didn't make sense) and he said "I can't give you the answers", I just wanted to know what the question meant. Whatever. My husband asked if they carried 6mm ammo, he said "no we don't carry any", then said all of our 6mm is downstairs. Obviously didn't want to work. So when we went to pay, my husband (we share a bank account) went to pay with his card and the woman said I needed my card, that he couldn't pay with his card! Said that's what the ATF requires! There are other ways to go about it. One things for sure, we won't ever be back again!!!! There are plenty of other FFL dealers to use in the area. Rude people with horrible business practices. And yea I was rude at the end, because I was giving the same energy back, but yall didn't like that. read more

I really don't know why Buds gets so much hate. I went in today, on Sunday November 19th, and had zero problems. Phenomenal selection of handguns and long guns as well as cases and cases of ammunition. Let's talk price. . . . Right on the market price of EVERY gun I grabbed and I grabbed 30+. I'm sure some of the used stuff may be different but the brand new ones I held AND bought were all spot on. I will also add Buds is 100% more fair on their prices than SMKW next door, their prices are stupid high. As far as the service goes there was one rude employee but that one person doesn't define the other 4 gentlemen that assisted me and ended up making 4 sales that day between my family and I. I live more than an hour away and don't get down there much but when I need a good selection to choose from I know Buds will have something that peaks my interest! read more

This is one of the largest online stores out there and this location in Tennessee doesn't disappoint. The guns themselves plenty to choose from but federal law prohibits you from buying directly if your out of state. The shipping could cost you so we decided to check out the firing range and try some guns and they have plenty to choose from. The price is extremely fair and I love the fact if I pick 9mm guns I pick the first gun and ammo buy that and I'm allowed to swap for free in the time frame. We shot 3 guns in 30 minutes had lots of fun and they are very patient with any first timers. Fairly disappointing - Customer service does seem lacking. Employees standing in circles (my visit was Friday, July 28 in the afternoon). Not very helpful in ammo selection. I went to pickup a Chiappa handgun. The odd fellow behind the counter told me to be sure to put "hash" marks in my phone number while filling out the federal form (on tablet). So i proceeded to put the # marks in which didn't work because he meant DASH marks, so here is pretty much the hallmark of the entire store - barely qualified. I picked my used Walther PPK/S up locally today. Ordered on 7/11. 2 day shipping took 4 days. Shop owner opened the box and while the condition was good, it had COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GRIPS than what was depicted in the photo. The photo showed the stock grips, these are brown walnut and they just look plain weird and quite frankly, stupid. This is 2023. Literally everyone has a high-quality camera in their pocket. If you're going to sell a used weapon (especially one that does not resemble the stock item in ANYWAY SHAPE OR FORM) it would be a good practice to take a quick snap of the ACTUAL gun for customers to look at. Now I have to use the discount I got for buying something slightly used to get new grips. I should have just bought a brand new one locally. The transfer fee ($70) and the cost of stock grips (about $75) put me right back at the cost of a new gun AND I could have had it in hand almost 2 weeks ago. Just a poor overall buying experience. We visited the indoor shooting range yesterday. From meeting Coleman at the check-in desk, to spending alot of quality time with Paul and Mike inside the range, this is an awesome facility all the way around...I was not shunned or treated inferior by being a female first timer in their facility to shoot. I learned a LOT from all of these gentlemen!! The prices were more than fair, the facility was clean and friendly. Living close by, I will be returning for classes and to purchase more ammo. No way to beat the Sevier County hospitality and Bud's is the best. So glad I purchased my firearm from there and will continue to support them. read more
