Completed the online reservation including CC payment to secure a confirmed reservation No.1808399862003 fora 3-day rental (4/26 to 4/28). I showed up before 8:00 AM, the opening time, to not waste time on the registration process; the store attendant was not only late to open, but before doing that, spent ten minutes talking to someone in the parking lot, despite of seeing me waiting at the front door. Arranged to rent a premium SUV for nine days through the corporate number. As a FastBreak member I got a reasonable deal. Four days before my scheduled pickup I called the local pickup office to add a second driver but got no answer. I tried repeatedly the rest of the day and the next day as well with no answer. These were regular business days/hours but the phone would ring about four times and then roll over to the corporate number, where I could get no help. I rented a 12 passenger van for a youth trip on a Saturday. I arrived at the location to pick up the van. I retrieved the keys, hopped into the van and realized that SEATS WERE MISSING! Also, the van had trash inside it, the outside was dirty and there was less than a quarter tank of gas in it. I was told that there was another van en route but there was no estimated time of arrival. While the guy at the counter tried to help me out in this bad situation, there was nothing he could truly do except give me a good discount on the day rental--which he did. HOWEVER, the laziness in making sure that rentals are in good working order, have all of their allotted seats, have gas and are clean was a huge disappointment for me. I almost had to cancel the trip for my youth group because of this rental location and their ineptness. Fortunately, my son canceled his plans and drove his personal vehicle to help me transport for the youth trip. Budget will NOT get my business ever again. Worst place ever! Avoid at all costs and save yourself the trouble. I had a 8 seater SUV reserved at this location since two days before my arrival. On my arrival a customer is actively engaged in a argument with the receptionist. Oh, and there was only "one" receptionist. I waited 30 mins just to finally check in for pickup. After giving the receptionist my credentials she gets the keys and checks to see if the vehicle has been "released" in their system. Now here comes the B.S. I am told that the 8 seater Fords cannot be released due to a safety recall. My trip is the next day early in the morning to get my kid to college with his belongings, hence why I needed an 8 seater. Long story short no other Budget Rentals in the area to include the airport had any 7-8 seater SUVs so I could not get on the road as planned. My frustration is that there is no professionalism as soon as you walk in. Also if there was only FORD 7-8 seater SUVs on the lot which could not be released, why wasn't I notified before hand so that I would have time to make other arrangements. Do not ever rent from here very unprofessional, no one ever answered the phones. I'm a police officer and could not make it in before 5 pm so my husband brought me to drop car off because they don't no how to set up direct billing with Gieco ( I know wired right) but I tried to call them several times to tell them I drop car off and my husband is bringing key in. If I could give no stars I definitely would! The vehicle was atrocious. Smelled like dirty mike and the boys had an orgy in the car I rented. BBQ sauce on the ceiling, soda like sticky substance on the whole windshield inside not to mention. Didn't even bother wiping the car off after spraying it with water not cleaning it just spraying it. But I guess the plus out of having to give them one start the workers were decent. read more

I give the Waldorf, MD location 3 stars because the gentlemen went out his way to correct the mistake the reservation line made. Unfortunately when going online for reservation they don't check with the locations. He did apologize for the error and explain it was out of his control. I made my reservation 3 days in advance for early Saturday morning pickup in Hyattsville, MD just to get a call after 4 pm on Friday from that location to say they have NO TRUCKS, i ask if they could check other locations they told me (not so nicely) NO and I would have to call the reservation line for them to tell me they would have someone call me back because they have to refer this to customer servers supervisor. I called and Waldorf had a truck so I call the reservation back to be told you have to wait for them to call you. Of course they call around 5:30 and said they have to trucks at any location after playing phone tag I explain to them that Waldorf had the truck I reserved after he hesitating he went on and changed my reservation and said the price my change but you will not longer have unlimited mileage. "This makes know since if you pickup at one location and drop off at another location you have unlimited mileage but if you pickup and drop off at same location there is a flat rate plus.79 cents a mile" Needless to say the nice gentlemen at the Waldorf location gave be a bigger truck at no extra charge and the price end up be almost $20 cheaper and apologize for the inconvenience again. This place is a total clusterfuck. Go anywhere else if you need a moving truck. Reserved weeks in advance and their employee wasn't even aware if they had a truck available when I arrived, took an extra hour just to locate one. Totally unacceptable when arrangements are made in advance. read more

Please, Please do not waste your time or money going to Budget in Waldorf. We had a reservation for over 2 weeks and drove an hour to the location. Once we got there we were told they did not have any trucks available but we could wait 3 hours to see if someone drops one off. I asked him why didn't he atleast call and notify us when they opened he stated that he did not want us to cancel. I cancelled right there and booked with Uhaul. I only gave 1 because I had to. Don't ever go to the Budget locations in Waldorf Md. I reserved a car a week ahead so I can get the car and hit the road. They didn't have the car and he made it seems like he was doing me a favor by offering me a bigger caravan or pick up truck. I also found out later by customer service that because I showed up 20 minutes early that was the reason the car was not there, but the employee called the women in my face, who had the car and she told him then she wanted to keep it. That's when I was offered the other vehicle's. But hey they got my money now so they don't care. I brought the car back a day early but still was charged for the day I didn't have the car. If you want to rent a car then be given what they want you to drive. You also can return the car a day early and still be charged. I would give this place zero stars if allowed. I reserved a 16' moving truck with this place. I was supposed to have the truck from Saturday until the following Tuesday. I arrive at this location 10am (which was my reservation time) and there is a line of customers and ONE employee! Now the lady being serviced is visibly irritated and storms out. 30 mins later (yes I had to wait in line for 30 mins) I get to the counter, tell the employee my information to pull up my reservation and he looks at me and says, oh we don't have a 16' truck all we have is one 12' truck so you can take that and I'll give you 25 free miles. Excuse me?!? First of all what do you mean you don't have the truck and the point of reserving the larger truck is because my belongings wouldn't fit in the smaller one! Who just rents a larger truck for no reason? The employee then says "well you could come back tomorrow" again, the reservation was for TODAY not tomorrow. Tomorrow's is not an option! I'm furious at this point. Normally you would expect something along the lines of " I'm sorry for the inconvenience" or " let me call and see if another location can provide one" I mean something! He just stands there with this attitude like oh well get over it. I then say "if you knew you didn't have these trucks that people have reserved, don't you think it would have been a good idea to call and let us know? His response is "that's inventory's job, they should have called you" Seriously!? That's your response? We stood here for 30 mins and you knew you didn't have the truck we reserved!" This employee is still completely unbothered which really pissed me off. Another lady speaks up and says "you know a little customer service goes a long way". He says nothing. Come to find out the lady that was visibly irritated 30 mins prior, showed up to pick up the truck she reserved and they didn't have hers either! I go across the street to the uhaul place to see if they had anything and they tell me the budget I just came from, does this regularly. I don't know how this place is still in business but, save yourself the time and aggravation and go elsewhere.
