Called the number and spoke to Tina twice regarding the website not working. Both times she said she would call me back when she got into the office. Never called. So, I can't review on their cars as I never got that far. But service is a definite no. The more positive reviews are older so maybe the business isn't doing as well as in the past. In addition Practicar's main 800 number leads to one of those scam call centers offering "medical IDs" to people over 55.

The front desk person was very friendly, efficient, and helpful with advice and suggestions when we told him of our plan to drive to Tofino. It was greatly appreciated! The car was a brand new 2025 Prius with low miles. We loved the car. Turning it in was easy, thanks to the detailed instructions we were given by the airport person. But U Haul charged for an adaptor for the brake lights - I have never had to buy a new one - other U Haul depots 'always' provide one as part of the rental. When we returned the trailer there was a huge line up as the system was down. Understand this - it happens. BUT the staff were dreadful. Unhelpful and rude. They advised us to leave the trailer and that when their system was 'up' they would process the rental. I don't trust these people. We have taken a time stamped photo of the rental on its return. So lets see if the terrible people try and scam us. There are lots of other good rental people around. U Haul Sidney are excellent unfortunately they did not have a motorcycle trailer to rent.

My friends were visiting the West Coast for the first time. They booked their rental car through…read moreAvis, picking it up in Vancouver, and arranging to return it to the Victoria Airport. They were staying at the Fairmont Empress, so I called and spoke to the Avis agent at the airport. She told me Avis had a partnership with Budget, and there would be no problem for them to drop the car at the Budget office/parking at the Fairmont Empress conference centre. I then phoned Budget to confirm this and was assured that if they simply changed their drop off location online, they could simply turn in the car upon arrival and leave it in an allocated Budget parking space when they had checked in. They arrived at 9:00 pm after driving all the way from Tofino. They had called twice during business hours while en route to ensure this arrangement was okay. No one at Budget answered the phone, but they left 2 messages, neither of which was returned. Today, after all this misinformation & unreturned phone calls, they learned that they will have to waste a day of their precious vacation to return the car to the airport 22 miles away, and then have to pay over $50 to take a taxi back into the city. TERRIBLE WAY TO DO BUSINESS - I WILL NEVER BOOK THROUGH AVIS OR BUDGET AND DO NOT RECOMMEND THEIR SERVICES
