Over the next months I needed other car assistance and always received high quality attention and costs were very reasonable. Jerry (owner) has built a quality small business that not only provides individual attention but also receives farmed out work from local Knoxville car dealers. His shop may not present as a newer franchise auto repair location, but his service can be personalized and if he (or his mechanics) can't fix your problem he will tell you where to take your vehicle in Knoxville. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. As in any small business, work schedules may be full or they may be able to get your repairs immediately. I had two transmissions go out in less than a month and a half. Budget got me up and running on both of them. The second one literally was done in about a week!! I've used both cars quite a bit and everything works great. The people are super nice. I think I read a review that said it was dirty. It's an auto shop. It's not a nail salon. The staff was very personable and even the technicians were very helpful and took time to answer my questions. Gave my car to them for one day asking for them to find the problem. When I received my car back my motor cover was broken off and when I told the worker she said they had nothing to do with it. Luckily I had before pictures of my car! The service of them checking what was wrong was free but now I have to pay for a new motor cover! read more

By far the worst customer experience of my life. On top of their general incompetence, they also just treat people poorly. Borderline criminal company. Sold a work truck to my boyfriend: 2011 3500 Silverado with a bad transmission less than a month ago. The owner said that they do not care that the truck has transmission issues and my boyfriend should have inspected it better. Crooks. Absolutely disgusting business practice. They are not willing to assist, he said he may be willing to sell my boyfriend a transmission at cost but will not be putting it in. I sent budget transmissions my older dodge truck from the 90's to have a transmission rebuilt. Took them several weeks to do it, but even after I got it back the same issues happened almost immediately. Sent it off to them for "warranty" and they gave me every little run around. If it's not inside the transmission they don't even touch it. Goodluck with it, if you have a temp sensor out on the outside or a transmission lines that leaked a little. If you have an older pick up beware cause you will end up troubleshooting the problem instead of the transmission "experts" read more

Keicesa at the front office is absolutely incredible. She was so kind, efficient, and gave me options. They charged 1/2 of what Beaty Chevrolet (dealership) wanted, they did it in a fraction of the time and truly understand customer service. When I got there to pick my car up today she sat down with me and went over the three year warranty on my transmission and what all it entailed. I can't say enough great things about them. I was advised to check this place out when thought I was having issues w my transmission. Found out it wasn't, but it was my front differential. The customer service was great from the jump. The young lady working in the office is ON HER S***. She knew what I needed, who I needed to talk to, who she thought would be best working on my car based on her staff. She made sure I was always up to date on where they were in fixing my car each day(I would call. she would stop what she was doing to give update.) The staff there have their own specialties as they are all legit mechanics. She got my keys, they took care of the rest. My total was cheaper than what they quoted me. I had budget transmission rebuild my transmission and it was a nightmare from the get go.It took them nine months to do the work and it hasent been right since.l took them to court when they would not work with the bbb and me.After l went to court l found out they have a lawyer who new how to work the court system so l could not get my case heard.They reset the court dates without us getting notice of the changes so we got screwed out of anther $200 in court costs.This business is as shady as they get.Do yourself a favor and save yourself from a transmission nightmare and take your hard earned money elsewhere.l am sixty years old and this is by far th worst business l have dealt with.Sincerly, Rico read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. If I could give less than one star, I would. We were referred by Cedar Bluff Auto Care. The guy at Budget told us $400 for seals, $1500 for a rebuild. We took our truck to him, he called nearly a week later and told me the transmission had to be rebuilt, and was I sure I wanted it done, because it would be $1500 to $1700. I told him to call my husband. He called my husband and said it would be $1500 to $1800. A week later (two weeks now), he called and said the work was done and it would be $2000. No written estimate, no call to let us know the price was going up. Then he called back and said no, it would be $2066. Every time you talk to them the price goes up. read more

I have a friend who is introducing a class action lawsuit against this business , for negligence, falsifying work performed, fraud, and more.This guy took advantage of a family that had lost EVERYTHING, in the wildfires, and Claimed the transmission was fine, released the car, car broke down not even 2 weeks later, then claimed it was something else, that they had not touched, and refused to honor the WARRANTY. This is the first time I have ever had to have anything this big done on my car and I was terrified being disabled and having limited funds. I just happened to call this place and Jerry, the owner, answered the phone. I was clueless. He spent at least half hour on the phone with me explaining everything and answering questions. My transmission had been "going out" for quite sometime. I needed it fixed right and I needed a warranty to take care of it for a little while. Jerry assured me I would have both. They are wonderful to keep in touch with you during the process to let you know how things are going. John is another one I talked with a few times on the phone and he too, answered all my questions and kept in contact with me until my car was ready. I would be very happy to refer anyone to go there. They are very professional. The best part of the entire experience was picking up my car yesterday! It is like a new car. A 2001 Honda Accord and it runs like it did 10 years ago when I bought it. I have a BMW that the transmission went out in October of 2016. We had the car towed to Budget Transmission where they proceeded to tell me it was completely gone and it would cost $4000 to have a new one put in. We didn't have all of it at once so they said they would keep the car securely and we could make payments on it. It took us until Feb 2017 to pay it. My last payment was made of $497. I paid that in cash to the owner Jerry Green. He said he didn't not have receipt paper. About 3 mos ago he calls my husband and said we still owed the $497. I told them no we did not because we were told we could not get our car until total amount was paid. So how could i have gotten my car if i did not pay that. Today August 8th our transmission has went out again. And was told by Jerry , the owner, there was no warranty, the warranty was only 6 mos. i told him i needed to talk to my husband. He said we'll talk to him and hung up. I feel they did not and could not have put a new transmission in our car. It need to be made clear to them they do not do quality work. They are not trustworthy at all. I want to save someone from going thru this same situation we are going thru. We are all hard working people and can not afford to have to replace $4000 every 3 years. And if i could give them a zero i would. Right now, I am completely blown away by EXCELLENT customer service! My daughter bought a used Jeep Liberty shortly before Christmas 2013. When we had everything checked out, the engine was reported as in excellent condition. The transmission didn't have such a healthy report. It was recommended, since she is in school 70 miles away, that the transmission be rebuilt, for her own safety and security. Since I have had 3 other vehicles serviced, very well, at this shop, I never questioned the diagnosis and had the transmission rebuilt. Last month, my daughter reported her car seemed to be shifting hard when she got up to a drivable speed. Despite my recommendation to immediately have the vehicle serviced, she continued driving to the point that it finally failed on her earlier this week and required a tow. I had a shop in Cleveland, TN check it (a former classmate's garage) and then had to have the vehicle towed to Knoxville to Budget Transmissions, for further diagnosis. Since the original repair had a 1 year warranty, and we were just about 1 month out of that time frame, I spoke with the owner, Jerry, and asked if he could do help me in any way to alleviate another costly bill or complete repair charge. I had just paid off the previous repair bill last month! He said he would help me out as best as he could, but still had operational costs (which I understand, when you operate a business). When I was called and told my daughter's Jeep was ready, I asked what the damage was, and the owner wouldn't tell me. I showed up at the shop, expecting to pay at least 50% of what the original repair was. Since I had already had 3 other vehicles serviced by him, he covered this (presumably as a warranty item, although we were outside this). I was in complete shock, and wanted to sing the praises for this type of service, which is often difficult to find. If you need transmission work, even if it is just a diagnosis, I encourage you to visit this shop for fair and honest service!
