Horrible experience. My friend booked a car we showed up to retrieve the car rental after making a booking online. The man at the counter told us he had nothing available. He did not have the car we booked. He was extremely dismissive he would not honor an alternative, or do anything to make the situation right. He got in his car went home, and left us stranded outside. We are now at Budget at the airport they let us know that this location is privately owned, and that's probably why we were treated this way. read more

I know this place has poor reviews, but we decided to to use while visiting Nashville and needing a car for the day. We made a reservation a couple of months before coming to town, as we needed to go to a town about 90 miles away, which was too far to use ride share. We got to this neighborhood Budget/Avis (we reserved thru Budget) right as they opened and the manager helped us out. We were in and out very quickly and he was very friendly and helpful. Upon bringing the car back, we were quick to be checked-in... He promptly checked the car, got our milage and checked fuel and let us go. I've used this location multiple times with no issue but this time I was rushed through the checkout process. The guy helping literally didn't even say hello to me just rudely asked for my license and credit card and then rushed me out the door to get my car. He said he checked the fuel gauge but failed to mark down that it was a half full tank so when I returned it half full they charged me an extra $120 and I'm in the process of disputing it now. Their customer service team blamed me for not "taking a photo of the fuel gauge before I left the parking lot" which I have NEVER been asked to do by a rental company before. Our reservation was made for noon. We showed up at 12:30. When we arrived - within our window, they told us they didn't have an avail car and wouldn't provide an upgrade unless we paid for the vehicle upgrade. The upgrade was $10 a day. $30 in total. There were plenty of cars on the lot. They could have easily upgraded and apologized for the inconvenience. Not to mention, they took a one hour break for the extent of our booking window that they knew well in advance on. So we couldn't even be seen until over an hour after. There was a sign on the door "back at 1:00." They didn't return until 1:10. There was a line of 6 people outside, including their door dasher. All oft They made everyone wait for an hour outside in 100 degree weather, despite literally being on-site and watching us. This company is privately owned and they are clearly hurting. This location is a Avis/Budget car rental location. When I made my reservation online, it was under Budget, so I review my experience as it is. We were upsell from a standard to SUV for $10, which was fine with me. As I do prefer a more spacious car anyway. There was no other customers so there was no wait and the process was fast. We dropped off the rental at Nashville Airport before our 6:30 am flight and left the key in the drop box. I was a little worried that they might put on extra charges since I never got the final settlement bill in person or via email. Luckily, the credit card charge was the same as the rental agreement at rental time. This is a good location if you want to rent a car while staying in Nashville. read more

This has been the worst experience I've had with ANY company period. From cheating out on maintenance for their vehicle (there was a check engine light covered with tape), our tires were basically bald, the transmission blew out on the truck and they left us abandoned in a wrecking yard. Always check your receipt. Budget tried to scam me into paying an extra day. They stated I checked the vehicle in 3h late when, in fact, I checked it in two hours earlier. I know this because I photographed the vehicle prior to leaving the airport parking lot and then, again, upon return. My photos are date and time stamped. I also have the receipt from Parking Spot where my own vehicle was parked and a Publix receipt that puts me there prior to the rental return time. I called fraud and am getting my money back. I get here on the 8th of February to pick up my vehicle. Now, online I got the car for 3 days for 190 bucks. After all was done and her adding insurance it came to $350 they literally ROB you. She also asked me if we wanted to upgrade to a Jeep and we said no to stick with a normal car. I reserved a mid-size SUV. When I arrived I was told it would be a Chevy Trax. Anyone looking at this vehicle can tell you it is not a mid-size SUV. Even the Chevrolet website says it is a small compact SUV. But for $15 more per day I could get the mid-size SUV that I reserved. What a scam! I am very disappoint in Budget. Car itself was fine but when we went to turn in they checked in as normal and said everything is good. Handed us the bill and took off only to realize on the bull they out a $23.41 file charge which made zero sense since I just filled up on the corner nor did they say I iwef anything. When I went back to ask they said "did "they" accidentally charge you for fuel?" as if it's the machine or algorithm. This though is NOT how it works as the sirjet "them" trying to push blame has to type in at return the fuel tank level that if calculated on. I'm all about giving good reviews- hate to give bad ones... But here we go. I didn't have any problem getting my car (until I was getting in the car and the man cleaning it said "be careful, the last person that had this car, wrecked it on the pole right up there"... That should've been a clue)... And actually didn't have any problem returning it. That is, until 3 hours later I received a voicemail saying there was damage to the interior and I'd need to fill out an accident report. Now, proper protocol is when I get the car, you review it with me- meaning you walk the interior and exterior with me. And when I return it, you do the same. No, the lady had me wait at the counter and went outside, spent 3 minutes in the car when I dropped it off, then came inside said "ok- were good" and printed my receipt. So, this voicemail is either about the last person that had the vehicle, or a scam to get money. I was the only one to drive the vehicle for 24 hours and had one duffle bag; I don't really think I could've done damage. Just note, if you don't buy extras from them, they'll find a way to get money from you somehow... Get ready to lawyer up. Get ready budget... I have never been one to write a review or complain, as I think I am a very patient and understanding, but this time it is necessary to let your company know of the customer service I experienced this past weekend in Nashville. I was on vacation celebrating my 30th birthday with my friend and we decided to rent a car Sunday to Monday. I called last Saturday (10/1) to make the reservation and they confirmed my rental would be ready for pick-up the next day, Sunday at 4pm, off Church Street. I did not look again to see what times the location was open, but assumed if I am picking up at 4pm, they're surely open until at least 5pm. My friend and I took an Uber to the location, where we were dropped off about 4:15pm. As I walked toward the door of Budget, I noticed one of the reps run and quickly lock the door. I then noticed on the door that this location closes at 4pm. I proceeded to knock and finally the rep cracked the door open and with a stern and unwelcoming tone, she asked me "what do you need". I was immediately shocked by her demeanor and could tell this was going to be an unpleasant experience. I then told her (still talking through the cracked door) that I had a reservation to pick-up a vehicle at 4pm and was not made aware that the store actually closes at 4pm. She replied with "What I am supposed to do, it is not my fault you came late and now we are closed". After back and forth, explaining I have no transportation and would have come earlier, had I been informed or instructed to arrive earlier. She finally let my friend and I inside after a few minutes and as she walked us in, she aggressively threw her stapler across the counter, and went off on us! She was extremely upset and irritated with us, telling us how she now has to unlock everything again, boot up computers (which were already on), will be getting home late and even said "I guess it doesn't matter if I have a life after work"! I have never felt so uncomfortable and disrespected at an establishment! My friend and I were very calm and patient with her, continuing to thank her for taking care of our reservation, but even then she was extremely rude and condescending to us. Her assistant mentioned they had a tough day and systems were down most of the morning - I get it, I work a stressful full-time job too, but I NEVER have talked to my clients or even co-workers in such a harsh manner. After stepping into the store to give her my reservation details and being in complete shock about the situation I felt it was necessary to video the attitude and negativity I received by this employee and share with your company. I was tempted to share on social media, but I do not want to publicly humiliate anyone. However, I think it is important for your establish to know first-hand how this employee handled my reservation. read more

I pre-paid for my rental to go on a job interview in Nashville, however, the company cancelled on my 3 days prior to me arriving. I had a confirmed online reservation to pick up a compact car. When I arrived, the rep at the front desk told me there were no cars available except for a 12-seater van. I said this was unfair since I specifically reserved a compact car so that I could drive over 200 miles to Memphis for a one-way trip. The rep said the only other option was to pay her $5 more for a Jeep Compass. She wouldn't even let me have the Jeep without paying the extra cost. I eventually paid the $5 so that I wouldn't be stuck in Nashville, then I contacted Budget customer service through email and complained. Budget customer service wouldn't even refund the extra cost and instead only gave me a small voucher for a future rental. I eventually had to file a formal complaint with the Tennessee State Division of Consumer Affairs in order to get Budget to refund the $5. I know it's not a lot of money involved, but it's more about the principle at stake. I will never rent from Budget again. read more

I've had it with Budget - 3 times now I've had some niggling charge tacked onto the end of the trip - never large enough to spend 15 minutes on hold for, nor delay a flight, but $10 here, $20 there. This time is was 'extra half day' - my rental ended at 6:30 pm, I returned the car at 6:05. WTF? Top it off, the car was smoky which I at first thought would be ok, but actually turned out to be bothersome - when you open the door and get into a hot car it just hangs and no amount of driving with the windows down seemed to help much. And of course, Budget, pretty much alone among the brands I use, does not allow car selection. I travel fairly frequently with about 50 car rental days a year and this $17 charge was the nail in Budget's coffin for me. Congratulations morons. read more

First things first... I rented a car from this location, as I do every 2-3 months to pick up my step son in Florida. This one day, I brought the car back, I'm in line behind 4 other people, the manager looks at me and noticed I was just there for return, I was already about an hour early for return, she said, "no worry, I'll get it for you", I specifically asked, "do you need anything else?" she assured me that she'd email the receipt, no problem. Well, 5 hours later, she checked the car in, this charged me a $69 fee for the car for a whole day of rental. Now, granted, I should have waited for my car to be checked in but she, as the manager, should not have offered to take the keys if she was going to forget about it and then make me responsible. When I called the location, they replied with, "well, you should have waited for the receipt" and wanted a description of the person, when I gave a description, no one knew her... really???? You have got to be joking... After several angry phone calls, I got a customer care representative on the line who was nice enough to just take care of it and credit me back stating she's heard this before about this location. Moving ahead about 4 months... rented the car for Memorial Day Weekend trip to Florida. Everything was great, nice car, smooth ride, uneventful, albeit great weekend... get back and turn the car in, they inspect it, give me the receipt, all is well. The car was returned on June 3. I get a letter in the mail on July 27th that I was charged a $200 cleaning fee because the car smelled like smoke - but, we don't smoke. The letter was dated July 7... SO WAIT!! You waited OVER a month to decide to write me a letter to advise that they are charging me for a cleaning fee and I still didn't get the letter or charge until over 3 weeks after that? NO WAY!!! When I called, I got the standard, "well, they made note when they checked the car in"... on June 3? Why did it take a MONTH to write the letter and 3 more weeks to charge me (the charge was on my CC July 29th) - Then I called customer care, talked to 3 different people... NOTHING! Called Capital One, they refunded me the $200 and filed the dispute, AGAIN, I have someone on the phone (this time with Capital One) who stated that he'd just dealt with another customer with the exact issue with Budget car rental... did I mention that WE DO NO SMOKE!! Again, I say, I've rented from these people ever couple of months for at least 2 years, they have changed management and have extremely incompetent people in this location. I will NEVER use this location again! And I'll be sure NOT to ever advise that anyone else does... They operate an scam...You rent and pre paid in advance, then when you pick up the car they "offer" you a choice, thinking is within the same reservation, but is NOT. Then they start a new reservation at a much higher price. I had a prepaid one week reservations for a Hyundai Elantra for $264.91 with all taxes included, then the guy at the counter, Chad, offered me a Toyota Camry, which is the same category for $325 plus all the taxes ended up $ 752.69. A BIG RIP OFF. Later I learnt thy did the same to other people, and last year they did the same to another friend, where a $ 700 2-weeks rental ended costing $ 2.200. I'd read a few negative reviews for this Budget location but was very pleasantly reassured as soon as I arrived that I would not have a similar experience. It was easy picking up the car and when I had to extend the rental on two different occasions, things were quickly handled by telephone. Calling the location directly meant the cost to extend was a little less than if I'd done it online too. When I dropped the car off, I mentioned to the ladies at the desk how my experience has been so nice when others had expressed such a bad time with the office and they said "Ashley and ???"... I'm sorry, other nice lady! I hadn't had my coffee yet this morning and I forgot your name! Drop off was on Saturday Feb 6th so if anyone in charge reads this, check to see which employees were on the desk this morning.
