This lady refused to get the manager and would not give me her name
Amy H.

I flew into Cleveland this weekend to bury my dad and uncle. I reserved a specific suv that was big enough to fit my entire family in. Not only did they not have that car they tried to charge me more for an upgrade. The African American woman at the counter refused to give me her name but was rude as anyone I ever met. When I asked to speak to the manager she refused to get one for me abd I had to go chasing after the manager named Brian who was not any better than the lady at the counter. Needless to say I cancelled and went with enterprise and will never rent from budget again. They were rude and disrespectful and dishonest all together

Not sure how they are staying in busoness

I did a reservation online with Costco and have been waiting for 2 hours to see an agent. Last time, I waited an hour

Chaos.

This place is wild. They don't even staff the counter and direct you to Avis. Then... after waiting in line for an hour they have no details on the reservation. They do get us a car. So we think. They send us to the location of that car. There's no car. We go back. The clerk starts looking for a car. We cancel and get charged anyway. This is now 2 hours into it. We tell the clerk we were charged. She tells us to go out to the parking lot where the manager will be waiting for us. He will take care of it. The manager is sitting in a booth with a line of people waiting for him... some of whom have been waiting for over an hour. I go back inside. The clerk says there's nothing she can do and no matter what I say that won't change. Oh... and she never bothers to apologize. I got the impression this was a routine day for her. No big deal. We call an Uber. I do not recommend this business.

Horrible service Long ass lines and only one employee working Negative stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was in Cleveland for a work trip and waited over 2 hours in line which was a huge inconvenience my work meetings were delayed!!

They gave me a banged up car

Meh...service upon check in was ok. Not bad, not good, not helpful. Service returning car was excellent. I find this to be the case at a lot of rental places, it's not specific to. Budget. The car was bigger than what I had reserved which was a nice upgrade but it was pretty beat up. Nothing noteworthy to report. They had the best price and they're my go-to company for rentals.

Set up online, requested a mystery vehicle via the budget website. When we arrived at the budget desk, they guided us to the avis rental company. We had a quick great experience. The ladies were super sweet. I said it would be fun to have an EV but needed it to fit my 6'3" son, they gave us a 2024 Ford F150 lightening! We got to the truck, it looked great but smelled horrible. Right on the widow it says $450 cleaning fee for smoking may apply. Obviously the last renters didn't care cause it leaked of cigarettes & pot. We went to the store & got deodorizer & a car freshener. There was drink residue on the center console. Other than that, this has been a great truck! We needed to extend the rental return date. I was able to easily do it from my phone on the budget website, even though avis provided us the truck. Now the nitty gritty.... Pros of renting an EV... spent less than $200 on charging for 2 weeks, rides really nice, all the bells & whistles & I'm loving the frunk. Cons: if you don't have a home charging unit, it really sucks to have to find one & either sit while it charges or get dropped off & picked up. Some chargers are super slow, some super fast, kind of like cell phone charger. Some charger charge extra/hr, if you don't disconnect within 10 mins of finished charging. Specific to a F150...the mileage to charge ratio isn't that great. About 215 miles per full charge, so it's you are staying outside of town it requires charging nightly. Need to return it with at least 70% charge but no place close to charge near the return desk. Overall we are happy with the experience we had & will definitely get a rental when coming home just probably not a ev truck

Awful service, line was 20 people deep with one person working the counter and kids screaming because they were waiting for over an hour. Go to ent other rental car place at this location. All were much better

Marks all over the car that were not documented prior to me renting the vehicle

If you're in a hurry after your flight, don't book a car with this Budget. 15 people in line and no move to help anybody with much speed.

5/5 -- SOMEONE PROMOTE FRANK…read more I rented through Enterprise at the Cleveland Rental Car Center, and this review is specifically to make sure management recognizes Frank. While waiting, I watched employees at several counters take their sweet time while customers piled up. And then there was Frank. Frank was MOVING. In the time some representatives helped ONE customer, Frank got through about FOUR -- while still being courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and somehow smiling. He checked me out and sent me outside to get my vehicle. There was only one problem: Frank was apparently TOO FAST. There wasn't even an attendant actively helping outside yet. There was another employee available, but she remained sitting with her hand against her head while customers waited. Frank saw the line building up, came outside himself, and -- because apparently his job description is "EVERYTHING" -- started assigning cars too. At this point, I'm not sure whether Frank works for Enterprise, National, the entire rental car center, or the City of Cleveland. All I know is somebody needs to recognize this man. He was going above and beyond, picking up the slack wherever needed without sacrificing customer service. Management: please don't just tell Frank "great job" and send him back to work. Recognize him. Reward him. PROMOTE HIM. My only complaint was the return. The employee was kind and told me "it's all good," but I later discovered by email that I'd been charged the $7+ per gallon rate for less than a gallon, despite providing a receipt showing I had just filled the tank to the maximum amount at a nearby gas station. But Frank? Frank gets 5/5 and is the reason this review is five stars. SOMEONE. PROMOTE. FRANK. He's doing his job, everybody else's job, and possibly three jobs that haven't even been posted yet.

This is a review for the United Club in Cleveland Hopkins Airport only…read more There are a few clubs at the airport. The United Club is by Gate C14. I get two complementary accesses to United Club through my United Explorer Credit Card. I have been to a few United Club in my lifetime. The best one was in LA. They had hot foods. Now the United Club in Cleveland is the best club that I have been to. They have hot foods, dumplings and meat balls. There are sandwiches and wraps. The best item is their Roasted Butter Squash Soup. We are in October, peak harvest season for squash. There is gelato. No more needed to be said. They serve only inexpensive items, but their tastes are average to good. The decor is very classy and rich in tone. There are individual rooms with power outlets as well as group work tables. A very spacious seating area with very comfortable chairs. All in all, I am very delighted in the decor and the foods. Good work, United. The best part of my current trip is the airline and the airport club. Ray out.

I arrived early at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Even though it is a large airport, it…read morewas easy to navigate. Rather than downloading the mobile application for American Airlines--the airline I was flying with--I visited their website to check in early and took a screenshot of my boarding pass. Since I only had a carry-on bag, this allowed me to head straight to TSA security instead of waiting to see an agent. As for my airport experience, TSA was not crowded at all with it being Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Even with that, I always dread going through security because of the possibility of being screened heavily, but all went smoothly! The only things I removed from my body were my jacket, backpack, and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Half Marathon medal placing each item inside either the bin, or my jacket pocket. After a light screening of my Garmin Instinct GPS watch on my wrist, I was well on my way to locate the gate within the terminal, which was not a hard find. While en route to the gate, the first thing I admired in the terminal was a public art piece from the 'GuitarMania' project. It featured a blue and white decorative guitar headstock wall display with the word 'Cleveland' in script. Even though I was not hungry, I took notice of some food and snack options within the terminal. These included The Pub, Dunkin', Currito, Chick-fil-A, Shake Shack, Bruegger's Bagels, Bar Symon, and Auntie Anne's. Furthermore, I was relieved to find postcards to add to my travel collection. They were pricey, as most seem to be now. The airport shops I found that sold postcards were the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Airport Store and Hudson. Hudson also carried fan apparel for college sports teams in Cleveland and throughout Ohio. I was also able to buy keychains and magnets for my coworkers at Hudson, right outside the TSA screening area. Oh my God! The lingering scent of Auntie Anne's pretzels lured me back to the area once I located my gate, where I caved and purchased bite-sized cinnamon rolls from Cinnabon instead! This Cinnabon was literally right next to Auntie Anne's, which did terrible things to my willpower. Being inside an airport always reminds me how people cannot walk in a straight line because there is always someone walking in your direction. I always find myself maneuvering around like the spaceship in the Asteroids arcade game, avoiding collisions. This airport visit was no different, except for me overhearing "Love Me Two Times" by The Doors playing in the background. The American Airlines gate I flew out of appeared professional, with a very well-maintained seating area compared to other airlines I have flown out of. I rarely encounter boarding areas with clean seats and no trash left behind, which is hard to unsee. Within certain airline gates, there were workstations as well as seats with charging outlets, giving me the chance to charge my cell phone before boarding my flight. Although the flight back to Chicago was delayed, I was updated via email and Google on the flight's status, and thankfully it was held up for no longer than an hour. Even with the delay, the boarding process was very organized and professional, which is all I can ask for. In closing, safe travels, and blessings to all that read this review of Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. ~Escape the ordinary. ~ Thomas G

Never received it so I went up to the Dollar desk ... there was a young lady sitting there looking at her cell phone... I said hello and I stood there for a few minutes before she looked up at me with a confused look. I explained to her that I never received the text telling me which car I should take... I showed her my confirmation number.. she said their system had been down for the last hour and she was having trouble looking up which car was assigned to me. A man came over to the desk and he called someone asking about how they could figure out which cars went to who since the system was down... the girl was manually writing up the paperwork for me... they then figured out I was the one who did the manager's special. Which said online that it would be revealed when I picked up the car. They gave me a Kia EV. I've never driven anEV before so I asked the about when I return it did it need charged to a certain charge... he said bring it back with at least 80% charge... after I started heading to my parents who live in North Canton, I had gone about 20 miles and was alerted I needed to charge the vehicle... THEY GAVE ME AN EV THAT ONLY HAD 8% CHARGE LEFT... I HAD TO QUICKLY FIND A PLACE TO CHARGE IT SO I COULD MAKE IT TO MY PARENTS. I couldn't find a super charge station and the only one I found had a 4 hour limit which I didn't have time for and because the battery was so low it said it would take 11 hours to charge to full capacity. My parents who are almost 80 met me in Fairlawn and we went to dinner while the car charge enough to get me to there house. I will most likely use a different rental car place next time rather than Dollar.
