I had put an email into Harry McKenna back in October to install some shutters for my bay window. What seemed like it started off great, came tumbling down quick.
He mentioned the shutters would take 10-15 days to manufacture but failed to tell me that once he measures, Harry sends the measurements to the install team who have to come back to re-measure what Harry already measured (after me giving him measurements in the beginning) so three sets of measurements which spanned to a few of weeks of measuring. Manufacturing actually took about 20 business days and took 5 business days to deliver the shutter to the install team. This is after the first initial meeting of Harry saying that it would be no problem that the shutters would be installed well before the Christmas holidays. Long story short, after several phone calls and emails the install team made it to my house a couple of days before Christmas... low and behold, the shutters did not fit, after the triple checked measurements!! Christmas came and went, shutters not fitting... fine, we are okay with that. We were told that the installers would be back just after Christmas with the correct size. The installer came back mid January and took 2 of the 5 panels which exposed our living space (we were in a fish bowl). Harry dropped off some paper blinds to staple up while they had our shutters. But this was a shock because we were told that it would be fixed by then, to our surprise it wasn't the end. Now we are in the beginning of February and he finally came back to put in the missing shutters. Guess what?? They still do not fit and the installation looks awful.
Not to mention while this is going on, Harry likes to have excuses as to why he can't get back to me. Not my problem. Also, he only cared about payment and not his customer service attitude or take any responsibility. The people that call to make appointments only call on Friday or Monday nights and they cannot do installations evenings/ weekends... you know, when people are home. You are expected to take time of work. Harry was so adamant (after a few months of not asking for payment) to get a deposit that I was happy to give and called/ emailed him about payment. He was eager to go on a vacation he had mentioned. Harry never called when he was back from vacation, never emailed me or anything in those regards. He simply took the other half of the payment without me authorizing payment and then tried to blame me for not calling him... in which I knew he was on vacation. What I want is the shutters to fit, I want the shutters to open and close properly, I would like the caulking to be complete and I want the stickers to be taken off the shutters.. in which I cannot take off because they installed them to the wood frame with the stickers on in there. Yes, you can see the ugly green stickers and the only way its coming off is if you unscrew/ pop off the shutters. I am so frustrated and ticked right off.
Harry has not once apologized. Not once took responsibility, not accountable for anything. He keeps 'emailing the install team' and demanded that I send him pictures and videos. Even after then he never apologized.
I am not a happy customer after the headaches, emails, phone calls, incorrect measurements, missing panels and unauthorized credit card transactions.
I highly suggest to not purchase from this company or interact with this man. read more
