I love Tesco stores but I am becoming increasingly concerned re the purchase of ready made cakes in…read morethe bakery section. Out of date goods on the shelves, the first was a lemon drizzle cake 2 days out of date, the second was a birthday cake my daughter bought for her daughter, a working mum found the Harry Potter cake and it was only when she went to serve it and opened the box, realised it was out of date. Both these items were bought to be used on the same day as purchase. Very disappointed little girl. The first item returned received a response of 'sorry about that' as did the second. No assurance that the bakery section would be checked and staff asked to ensure stock rotation and removal of goods passed their use by dates . I worked for Tesco as a bakery supervisor a lifetime ago and we would have been in serious trouble if out of date stock was on the shelves, now it is shrugged off as normal. Very sad. Come on Tesco restore some confidence, check your shelves, remove out of date stock, customers shouldn't have to check dates of products - that's your job.

It is handy for picking up everyday items that you might run out of though such as milk or bread. The only problem is that if you are in the car and passing through Higham Ferrers hoping to pop into this store then it is often difficult to park and you sometimes end up parking really far up the High Street or round the corner. This store is quite expensive compared with places like the big Tescos or Morrisons, but it is probably around the same as the smaller Tescos Express prices which are usually found in small towns or villages like this Co op. The store usually looks pretty clean and tidy and I've never had to queue very long either. If you live locally then it is a handy shop to have, but not one that I would especially travel to.

I used to go there in my school breaks, to get something to eat. The fresh warm food is the best part of this store. They are always fresh, and there is always something warm present.
