Hot food, cold food, shelf food, and a few odds and ends for your commuter/traveling needs. I was saddened by the short selection of magazines, but it's understandable given the limited space.

This small new Woolies has taken over the old CommBank site, filling it with aisles of snacks, convenience foods and ready-to-eat goods. I don't think I've seen anything like it - not as big or well stocked as a supermarket, not as exxy and poorly stocked as a convenience store, it's perfect for busy workers rushing to or from work and in need of a grab-and-go meal. There's even a cafe onsite selling the cheapest coffee and cakes in Surry - $3 brownies, say whaaaaat? I'm yet to try the coffee here yet but boy has it been handy when I've been running to/from Central and needed to pick up a bag of washed spinach, a tub of yoghurt, a pack of bikkies or a bit of fresh fruit. It opens til late, heck it may even be open 24/7* - say whaaaaat? *don't quote me on that #wishfulthinking, but I'll check next time I swing by

Time to time, there will be an employee handing out samplers (but like full size samplers) of new Cole's branded treats. I've never had to wait more than 20 seconds to check out at this cole's, and had absolutely no issues ever.

Huge selection of everything. This place though is super crowded! A lot of out of towners like myself are shopping here. Self serve lines with multiple checkout machine probably the best option instead of waiting in line if you only have a few items that you want to cash out.

James, I am very disappointed with your LATE reply. I was…read moresurprised that you didn't even offer a refund on these bad sandwiches. I will speak to a layer today and will continue to put reviews on the internet and your sandwiches and late reply and lack of service. I was spending on average $40 a week at seven eleven on sandwiches, coffee, fuel and muffins. I will never step foot into one of your stores again and will tell everyone of my experience eating off sandwiches in your Caringbah store. When I sell a product I stand behind the product and if there is something wrong with it I replace it or give them a refund. I expect the same treatment from a multi national company. It's New Years Eve, or is it New Years Day? The sun is up but there's been no transitional sleep to leave one day and enter the next, so the official date is sketchy. I find myself at Railway Square with a friend and cohort and we're waiting for a bus to get home, to get back to a soft comfortable boiling hot bed. (The heat is there due to the fierce power of the sun and nothing to do with passion or burning loins.) I enter Railway Square Central Grocer as it is the only place still open that sells what I need, water for hydration and gum to remove the horrid taste of cigarettes from my mouth. I don't smoke, but the taste is lingering. The bright fluorescent lights look like a beacon of hope that pulls us in from the bus stop and over to the pedestrian mall that leads to the tunnel. The ominous central station tunnel, a buskers delight is a hearing persons torment. I buy the gum and the water at the expected expensive price and enjoy the cool H2O on my partied out tongue, the flavoursome mint between my over tired teeth and the cool night air that I know will soon turn into a hot bed of flames and passion.

Railway Square - Central Grocer is located, as shocked as you might be after reading its name, at Central train station near Railway Square. It has all your typical convenience store items, with an infusion of American imports. For instance, they have the Cookie Dough candy range, inclusive of cupcake bites and brownie bites. And in case your teeth haven't fallen out after all that, I even sourced some Mike and Ikes and Reeses Pieces from these golden shelves. My one gripe- I was delighted to lay eyes on a Diet Dr Pepper in a can, which I haven't seen in a million years. I brought it up to the counter with triumph and delight only to find out that the bloody thing was $4.50?! GRRRaaaaahhhhhh!! I asked the poor young worker, "Why, WHY, is this so expensive??" and he looked at me with a side-cocked head and sarcastic expression and said "Lady, it's American." It took about everything inside of me not to retort "Well so am I, and I'm not charging you $4.50 to have this conversation!!" But I thought better of it, put the can back , and left with the piece of mind that if ever I was having a serious Dr Pepper meltdown (which clearly would be serious), I now knew where to find one.
