Railway Square - Central Grocer is located, as shocked as you might be after reading its name, at Central train station near Railway Square. It has all your typical convenience store items, with an infusion of American imports. For instance, they have the Cookie Dough candy range, inclusive of cupcake bites and brownie bites. And in case your teeth haven't fallen out after all that, I even sourced some Mike and Ikes and Reeses Pieces from these golden shelves. My one gripe- I was delighted to lay eyes on a Diet Dr Pepper in a can, which I haven't seen in a million years. I brought it up to the counter with triumph and delight only to find out that the bloody thing was $4.50?! GRRRaaaaahhhhhh!! I asked the poor young worker, "Why, WHY, is this so expensive??" and he looked at me with a side-cocked head and sarcastic expression and said "Lady, it's American." It took about everything inside of me not to retort "Well so am I, and I'm not charging you $4.50 to have this conversation!!" But I thought better of it, put the can back , and left with the piece of mind that if ever I was having a serious Dr Pepper meltdown (which clearly would be serious), I now knew where to find one. read more
