I paid almost $80 up front and with no guarantee. I thought it odd at the time but just wanted to have the jacket taken care of. I thought it would take about a week... I'm pretty sure that is what I was told by the person I left the jacket with. For some reason I thought this was the best place in town for this job. My dry cleaner ships leather items out of state & I didn't feel comfortable doing that. When they open, I will try to get the jacket back and do the job myself. Hopefully I can get a refund. I actually hope they've not done anything to the jacket after reading reviews. Update 1: 3/24/16 I called to see if my jacket was ready. The lady didn't remember my jacket & asked what work was being done. I told her that it was being cleaned and had a couple of cat claw punctures. She asked for the ticket number which thankfully I still had, but I don't think it provides them with any information except that I have proof that there ever WAS a jacket & that I left it with them. After giving the ticket number & describing the work being done, I was told that my jacket was still not ready. I don't know how she knows if it is ready or not as she didn't remember my jacket at all. I told the lady that I wanted to come get my jacket and be refunded because it was taking too long. I was told that I would not be refunded because they had already done some work on the jacket. Again, how does she know? She doesn't remember the jacket! She also said that I couldn't get the jacket because it was not at the shop! I then asked for a partial refund & asked when I could get my jacket. Nope! No answers, no refund, & no jacket today. As it stands, I'm going to call tomorrow to see when they will release my jacket. This is unbelievable! I left the jacket with them on 2/18/16 & today's date is 3/24/16. I paid $76.84 for this. Update 2: 4/2/16 I called & spoke with the woman over a week ago & she told me she would call me at the beginning of the week to let me know when I could come get my jacket. Today is Saturday, April 2nd. She never called & I've called the shop at least 5 times & the phone is never answered. I don't know if they are not at the shop (though I've always called during business hours) or if they are not answering my calls. Either way, it's not looking like I'll be getting my jacket back any time soon (if ever). Update 3: 4/2/16 I called from a different phone. The owner's son answered the phone! First, I asked if I could come get my jacket & of course I was told that it was not ready. I then asked if I could come get my jacket regardless of it not being ready. I was told it was at their house being cleaned. I asked if they would bring the jacket to the shop so I could come get it. At this point he asked for my ticket number. I gave it to him and then I could hear his mother in the background telling him what to say, which was the usual litany of, "Your jacket is not ready but when it is, we will give you a call." I asked if they had not been answering my calls. No answer. I asked how they managed to stay in business if this is how they did things. No answer. He only parroted back what his mother was saying in the background, "Your jacket is not ready but when it is, we will give you a call." What a nightmare... Smh Update 4: 4/18/16 Since they are not answering my calls anymore, I went to the shop to ask about my jacket. It wasn't at the shop & it wasn't ready... Big surprise. I asked that she bring the jacket to the shop so that I could pick it up tomorrow. She agreed to do this after I told her she could keep the money I had paid even though they had not done the work. Update 5: 4/19/16 I went to the shop to get my jacket & it was not there. The lady said she had forgotten to bring my jacket with her & that I would have to come back in two days because the shop is closed on Wednesdays. She didn't even offer an apology. I was speechless. I just turned around & left without saying a word. I am so appalled at the lack of professionalism & just plain bad business practices of these people that I really have nothing more to say. There is not much left that these people could do that would surprise me... Well, if my jacket was actually clean, conditioned, & at the shop, I would be surprised. Update 6: 5/26/16 I've contacted the shop twice since my last update. I've only gotten the run-around about my jacket. I've filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau. I would suggest you find somewhere else for your leather repair needs. I hear that Hacky's does decent work. Update 7: 8/9/16 Business never responded to BBB's 2 attempts to contact them. On a whim, I happened to be in the area & dropped by to see if my jacket was at the shop. It was finally there but it was in the same condition as when I left it with them 6 months ago.
