Blood and guts everywhere. Clearly I didn't take a pic but just be aware if you walk with your dog and/or small children. It wasn't pretty. My dog is great off leash and luckily I saw it before she decided to go in for a closer look. Do we call the parks dept to come get it or just let nature take care of it. It looks pretty fresh.

The walking paths are well-maintained and connect directly to the Plum Creek Trail, making it perfect for a morning run or a long walk. The lake itself is beautiful--it's a great spot for catch-and-release fishing--and they have a nice playground and covered pavilion if you're bringing the family. This park is great for sunrise views, meditation and yoga in the park. The trail is less than a mile long. I would have liked it more if there were nature trails and longer paths to walk on. I think they use this park for community events. The air is crisp and fresh. It smells like sweet grass cornbread. No pollution.

The greens are well maintained and always groomed. Watch out for sprinklers in the mornings (found this out the hard way). I like to come here when I don't want to fight traffic and to let my Boxer off his leash to run around. He enjoys the freedom of running around the open field. Well that and trying to piss on every tree he can. I also come because I find running on grass is easier on these old bones. There is a track, but I generally run the perimeter of the soccer fields for about 6 laps. You can get quite a few miles in doing that, but you have to watch out for soccer games, the occasional ultimate frisbee, football game, or kite flyers. Hopefully more of our SE Austin community will come out and enjoy this little neighborhood treasure.

It's covered with some shade sails. There is a volleyball net which looks fairly low. I think it's a sand court. I didn't walk that far over. There are some picnic tables and some outdoor grills. That area is covered in trees and has lots of shade. My dog had fun chasing a squirrel there so she gives it three doggie paws. I didn't seem any water fountains but maybe I just missed them. It would be nice for human and dog water at the park.

It consists of about three or more acres of green space, which also act as water retention areas. It has a really well designed play scape area along with some covered swings for the kids to play on. There is plenty of green space to run around in, and there are numerous picnic tables with accompanying grills. There is a separate, smaller playscape area, not far from the volleyball court. There are two points of entry, and both are at the ends of dead end streets. Despite being a nice neighborhood park, there are no public bathrooms or a pool, and it does not connect up to any existing hike and bike trails. It's definitely a nice asset to the local community. It's got the river flowing right through it, and it's right by the university. My friends and I eschewed the tubes and just floated down ourselves. The river's got a nice current in this area that carries you right along. Plenty of bridges, steps and ladders. Great for kids, families, hot college girls...you get it. Looked like they do allow alcohol, but probably no glass. The river is man-made, and there's plenty of trees for shade. Definitely wanna check this out, if you've got a day to spend in SM.

The area is big with plenty of tables and spots to set up chairs, cooler etc. You can bring your own cooler it just can't contain alcohol. The area was also clean and water was beautiful. We rented two tubes for $5 each that lasted three hours and a paddle board that was $10 for an hour. Very family friendly and although we didn't purchase anything they have a cool two story bar where you can buy alcohol and sit on the patio by the water. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and we will be back.
