We were surprised to learn that the restaurant did not actually open until 12:30, and found ourselves with fifteen minutes to kill. Luckily, Roscioli Caffè Pasticceria was right next door. We got seated immediately, a relief given both our timeframe and our slight fatigue after a long walk from Vatican City. We got a small table on the cute little patio, and service was prompt and friendly. We told our waiter about our lunch reservation, and he made sure we were able to leave on schedule. We ordered cappuccinos, which were €3 apiece and delicious, thick with foam. I don't drink coffee at home, but after this one, I enjoyed cappuccinos every day in Italy. So cheap and tasty. The café also offers a robust food menu, and seems like a great place to get a Roscioli meal if you can't land a reservation at the popular (and amazing) salumeria. I'd recommend Roscioli Caffè Pasticceria whether or not you're also eating at the restaurant.

We tried walking in first, but they were closing after lunch and shut down between lunch and dinner, so we booked a reservation for a couple days later. We visited in late February, and it felt a little less busy than usual, according to our waiter. We're from Los Angeles, and honestly, this ended up being one of our favorite meals in Rome. Everything we ate was delicious. We ordered the gnocchi with pork belly (the gnocchi was amazing). The pork belly was a bit too fatty for my personal taste, but my fiancé loved it. We also had a vegetable plate with a balsamic infusion that was so flavorful and beautifully done -- tomatoes, peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, eggplant, onions -- everything tasted fresh and intentional. And the bread was excellent too. Ambiance is super cute and cozy! Overall, the food, quality, and experience totally lived up to the hype. I would absolutely recommend Roscioli and would 100% come back.

November 11, 2024 3PM…read more Highly anticipated restaurant. I only pre-booked here and Incantum before arriving in Rome. Kept seeing this restaurant pop up with local Italian chefs' recommendations. Feeling a bit tourist trappy but their food was oh-so-delightful. We started with the bread basket and a bottle of Chianti. Appetizers - Maialino del Chianti - slow cooked pulled pork with olives and pickled vegetables. It's a cold dish but the meat was tender and flavorful. Trippa della Tradizione Romana - Roman tripe stew. This was so tender and succulent, definitely a little tripe scenty for those who don't eat innards. Pastas - Tagliatella - tagliatelle tossed with hare ragu, dried porcini mushrooms and saffron. My first bunny dish ever. Amatriciana - traditional Roman dish but with gnocchi. We booked dining in the basement which worked out as the restroom was also in the basement/wine cellar. Highly recommend to give them a try. Great service as well!

First you walk through a hallway of Roman statues and plaques, which take you into a spacious dining hall. They have a full bakery section and plenty of seating. I got to try a few Italy speciality items like the Spinach & Parmigiano Croquettes (3 for €2.69) and Tiramisu (€2.90). When in Europe, you can always order a beer at McDonald's too, which is a treat for adults. The best of all, I was able to score the viral beach towel from here while it's been sold out everywhere else!

Unfortunately, when I first came here on Friday, it was closed for a special event. Thankfully, they were open to the public when I returned the following day. If you had to go to only one McDonald's in Rome, you definitely need to come to this location! Just like any McDonald's in Rome, they're all very easy to find as they had signs throughout the city directing you to the closest one. This place is just south of the Spagna Metro station, very close to the Spanish Steps and embassy. The design of this location was very unique. It was very modern with a little bit of ancient Rome. Ordering was very easy while using one of the kiosks. It was very spacious with plenty of seating. The service was quick, the food was good, and the dining area was kept clean.
