Sweet Haven ticks all the boxes: various small candy in bulk; taffy in bulk; old-fashioned packaged candy; higher-end chocolates; Jelly Bellys; and of course FUDGE. It's a dangerous and delightful place. I'm not sure about the prices. This stuff *seems* expensive, but since you don't buy an armload of candy very often (do you??), it's hard to tell. So just go ahead and treat yourself (and your kids I guess, but mostly you, because sugar is bad for kids) and see whether you can make it last beyond the journey home at the end of the trip.

My favorite treat at Caruso's is the homemade chocolates, especially the ones with nuts. I have also enjoyed lunch there. Julie, the owner, and all the associates provide great service. I always treat myself to a visit to Caruso's when in Dowagiac. It is a great store to explore as is much of downtown Dowagiac.

They have lots of the small candies and old fashioned things. They do not have a huge selection of bulk/bin candy though and this is why they lose a star. A five star candy shop has everything I ever dream of from chocolate covered honey comb to bridge mix to sour candies in all animal shapes and sizes. I guess most of their stuff doesn't melt though which is a plus in the summer.
