They were quick to invoice and re-register you, but then they wouldn't let you book your make up sessions because they signed up a fresh crop and took all the spots. We had our 3 signed up, they had lessons on the same night but only 1 teacher, so they each got a bout 10 minutes every session. Very little communication on progress, on next steps, on areas to focus. Often had different teachers so it was hard to establish any kind of rapport. I was told to email every Monday to check on spots for make-ups, but rarely got an email back. But they sure as heck didn't hesitate to try and sign us up for the next term. Even though we had a balance of make-ups still owed. The owner is a bit rough around the edges in terms of customer service and communication. It's run like a cup cake stand. Also, pretty sure Karen K. in the reviews works there FYI. Steer Clear!

There's no reception area, you can easy walk through the locker room straight to the pool and spit in it, if you want - no one's gonna meet you on your way, even if it's your first day. Probably that's why you'll be basically forced to pay for the full course prior to even discussing anything - while filling up the form on a website you have to enter your credit card information, you can not skip it. *The price is shown for 9 lessons, but you have to pay for 10. Why not show the full price? To make the amount look more appealing? As I said, there's no staff to meet you on your first day, there no staff to even answer the phone!!! You won't hear "Hello, this is SeaOtterSwimSchool, how may I help you?", cause that's just someone's cell you are calling on. There's a high probability of not hearing anything at all for the same reason - no one picks up, even if you call many times at working hours. You might hear an answering machine, telling you about classes in January - very up to date. The class does not start on time - it might not start even after being 30 minutes late. In summary, for many reasons like the last one this school is not for adults, cause the approach is not serious at all.

This company started in their parents backyard pool, upgraded to a shared motel pool and now finally has opened up a beautiful space of heir own in Box Groove plaza. I love how genuine everyone that works here is, they all truly care about your kid and they are not a number. My kid is fearful and they really give him such patience. Basic level starts with ratio of 1:3 but he's the only kid and they still run the class! Instructors are in blue rash guards and there's 2 pool supervisors that float between groups in Orange, so sometimes like twice throughout each class my kid has two instructors all to himself. Clean viewing area for parents to watch their kids, small children's play area for the kids waiting. Two tv's playing sports or cp24, lots of plaza parking. Only bad part is- Showers sometimes get "reserved" by parents leaving their bags there which they shouldn't be or people wearing dirty/wet boots into viewing area despite signage.

At Russell Aquatics, students in the Pre School 1-2 program have a 3:1 ratio. This is extremely beneficial when your child needs more attention which mine does. Even before we entered the facility the staff were already helping us with our first obstacle, a crying four year old. They came out to comfort him which in turn provided me with comfort. I will continue to update this post as my family continues to visit Russell Aquatics!

This is actually my first time ever writing a review, but I feel I have to. At first, they send you tons of emails with information. When I asked for details, they told me that everything is handled over the phone, so I called. On the call, they offered me a package of 8 classes. I didn't really want to pay that much in advance, but I ended up doing it anyway. They specifically said it was a package of 8 classes -- never that I would be charged monthly afterward. I attended 4 classes, but then my son didn't want to continue, so I just let the remaining 4 go and didn't mind losing that money. Later on, I found out they charged me for 4 more classes out of nowhere. When I called to ask for a refund, I was told it was some kind of membership, which I had no idea about. I was 100% sure it was just a one-time 8-class package. According to the person who answered, they supposedly told me over the phone and by email -- but I have absolutely no email with any terms or conditions. At the end I feel that they just care about money. I feel completely scammed by this company.

Pros - good swim teacher, little one liked the lessons…read more Cons: - This location often has pool issues so expect one lesson to get cancelled roughly every 4-6 weeks. - timeslots make no sense. For toddlers classes begin from 1230pm and go till about 4. Your toddler will want to nap for half the available timeslots. - Confusing billing practice: when we first started it was an old billing system. Part way they switched to subscription style billing. The verbiage in the email regarding cancellation is unclear and confusing. Made it sound like as long as you cancelled before the cutoff date, you can avoid an additional months charge. The materials are very unclear. Over the phone they say they require 5 WEEKS NOTICE!! Basically you pay for 2 rounds of classes up front when you begin their subscription so when you cancel even if it's at the beginning of the month you're still paying for two cycles since it's 5 weeks notice! UPDATE: after reading my review Waterbabies reached out to me to see if there can be a solution for our particular case. They were better at explaining their cancellation policy and giving insight into why it works and how it works. And they worked on helping us out for our particular situation. I appreciate that they are amenable and understanding that the lack of clarity around their cancellation policy is an issue to be resolved. I still find the 5 weeks notice too much, but if you keep this in mind and can plan accordingly you'll be fine.

The lockers are communal but huge. The coaches and staff are very invested in your satisfaction and showed a lot of care to the littles. I do not like the communal showers but unfortunately the facility prefers rinses over full showers after class, which is unusual. Looking forward to seeing how the classes develop further.
