It's the season for prom dresses. I love Coco's Collection because she offers so many options and…read moreis accommodating in every way. My daughter found her dream dress but needed to order a different size. The dress took 2 weeks to come in and it was perfect. She does require you to pay $3 for the armpit inserts for sanitary purpose - but she takes it off your balance if you purchase a dress. The owner is so pleasant and even when there are several people shopping - she knows how to cater to everyone. There are thousands of dresses in this store all different sizes and sorted by color, style and length. The best part about the place is the dresses are priced extremely well. Prom is already a time of spending way more money than necessary. We were able to get the dress she wanted at the most reasonable price you can imagine. We have done several events over the past four years with some dresses and excess of $1000. This is not an establishment that is trying to get over on customers. I would recommend her to anyone. Sorry to see our dress journey end, but maybe I will find a reason to buy myself a dress next. Lol!

Super nice customer service as well. The armpit pads are a little weird but understandable with the lack or overage some people choose with their deodorant these days - actually kind of smart.

Okay, I really need to find humor with my experience bringing items to this shop for consignment…read more At first glance, the shop may have been strategically planned out for maximum inventory to sell, but I found the racks too close/tight for comfort. Rather difficult to pull a shirt off the rack and have enough space to put it out in front of oneself to see all the fine details. What disappointed me most was being told the items that I brought in.... which were handmade (double-stitched for longevity), displayed in craft shows, and never worn...that the item "looked worn". The clerk never even gave the handmade denim purse I designed a second look that others have commented was a work of art. Help me out here. What is in the ad for this CONSIGNMENT shop? "Women's Clothing, ACCESSORIES, USED, Vintage & Consignment". I think I see the words "accessories"...which I think my purse qualified .... and even IF the fleece baby buntings HAD been worn, they were still in the very best of condition should they have been "used". The clerk didn't really inspect the small details of the stitching, the embroidered patch or inside finishings. There I was standing there being told MY items were "too worn" next to a shelf of SHOES that were previously owned. Call me a picky, those shoes showed more wear and tear than the items I brought in. I even had a lovely patchwork quilt I made that would fit a baby crib perfectly but the younger clerk said they don't take blankets and didn't even bother looking at what I had brought with me. What I really breaks my heart is that a couple other customers came in looking for some winter shirts that were on a rack. There were several colors of this one style. Sadly, that one style is similar to many of the clothes sold at Walmart. They were waiting for the sale to begin next week which they could get 20% off whatever price the shop would assign. Still, these aren't high quality items even if they were brand spanking new. New doesn't always equal quality. I have to remember that I AM a professional seamstress and not everyone looks at clothing the way I do. Some will look at handmade items and think less of the quality. Or that it isn't as "good" or "will last as long" as store bought or vintage. What helps boost my morale after this experience is remembering a denim jean jacket I designed years back and finally outgrew. I gave it to a friend of mine who always admired it and fit her far better. She had worn it to a visit to a Talbot's (an upscale swank store in St. Paul) she frequented for her work wardrobe. The clerk there admired the jacket and asked where she had purchased it. She replied, "My seamstress made it for me." So if an upscale, high-end, women's shop acknowledged my work with peaked interest, I'm back to finding the humor in this particular situation. The old adage of their loss and someone else's gain must be true. I donated the remainder of my fleece stroller/crib blankets that were pain-stakingly edged with some colorful yarn and have never been used to another shop down the road. You know, the one with the bell ringers every Christmas. :-) So those of you who need to keep your little ones warm when out this Christmas season in their strollers, head on over to their shop. :-)

My daughter and I just visited today. We were so excited when we saw all the beautiful dresses but…read morethe one lady working there was so incredibly rude. She asked how she could help, I told her we were there to look for a prom dress, and she told me that they are a "high end store" and unless I'm willing to spend a lot of money, there was no point in me even looking. She then asked me how much I was willing to pay and when I refused to tell her, she gave me more attitude and acted as if we didn't belong there. I asked her if we could still look around and she reluctantly said yes with a disgusted look on her face. The dresses were all beautiful but I felt as if we were being prejudiced against for whatever reason and there are signs all over the store that say in big bold letters, PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THE DRESSES. We walked around for maybe 60 seconds and left. We were still the only customers in the store and she didn't say Thank you for visiting or anything at all. I feel like unless I had walked in draped with diamonds and fake eyelashes, I was just not going to receive any service. If you know the movie, Pretty Woman, you know that scene when she walks into the really nice boutique and they turn her away? Yeah, that's about how my daughter and I felt today in your store. I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Uptown Cheapskate. I came in hoping to…read moreresolve an issue involving a bag that was donated without my consent, and instead I encountered one of the most unprofessional and unpleasant interactions I've ever had with store management. The manager on duty, Leslie De La Cruz, was shockingly rude, dismissive, and made absolutely no effort to understand or address my situation. The bag in question wasn't just any item it was a meaningful gift from a cherished friend, and it was donated without my approval. I approached the store calmly, simply looking for a reasonable resolution. Instead of listening or offering even a hint of assistance, Leslie repeatedly shut me down, showed no empathy for my discomfort, and acted as if my concerns were an inconvenience. All I asked for was a basic form of compensation, such as a refund or a gift card equal to the value of the donated bag. This was a fair and respectful request given the circumstances, yet the manager chose to offer nothing not even a sincere apology. This experience has left me extremely dissatisfied, not only because of the loss of a sentimental item, but because of the unacceptable treatment I received from someone who is supposed to represent the store's values. Customers deserve respect, understanding, and professionalism, none of which were shown to me during this interaction. I truly hope Uptown Cheapskate addresses this issue, because no one should have to go through what I did just to seek a simple and reasonable resolution.
