I would not recommend working here, especially if you're a young woman. My experience was that the…read moremanagement up front made me feel uncomfortable and targeted, and I felt like my age and appearance played a role in how I was treated. Pam and Chris were part of the management team during my time there, and unfortunately, I did not feel supported or comfortable bringing up concerns. The overall environment became stressful enough that I ultimately decided to leave. I also would not recommend shopping here if you expect professional customer service. In my experience, Pam spoke negatively about customers and rolled her eyes over even minor issues, which made the environment feel uncomfortable and unprofessional. This is just my personal experience, but I think both potential employees and customers should be aware of the environment before applying or shopping here. Xoxo Pam you're such an old miserable lady.

Distinct anti-LGBT discrimination during the hiring process with manager Steve. I am a trans man…read more(female to male) and have been out to everyone in my life for 2 years and exclusively use the name Hayden. I arrived at the interview wearing men's clothes and no makeup. I am decidedly androgynous with short hair and a very masculine presentation. My email address uses my former (legal) name and he felt the need to taunt me about this. At the end of the interview (which was full of contrived and redundant questions and facts all the way through) he shuffled through his documents saying "there's another name on here, I saw it" to which I responded THREE TIMES "it's incorrect." Mind I was measured and composed as could be, and I stated it was incorrect three times as he shuffled through, but he did his utmost to find my deadname on the documents (only place it was on there was my email address, I did not specify this was my name at all in any other fields) and proceeded to (with a SMIRK) say the incorrect name out loud, TWICE. I told him once again it was incorrect, and he smirked again and ended the interview with a positively condescending "thank you for coming in Miss Hayden." I didn't react; I was in shock. There is no way to report this to corporate, either, so I'm stuck desperately messaging Kohl's socials and posting this Yelp review. Steve is the only man who works in that store (besides prospectively me) and he's the manager. Hope to get some closure or justice on this but I suspect it won't happen and he'll continue to discriminate. And also mind, I tried my best to interpret this as anything other than transphobic harassment but the smirks and insistence to say a name he knew would upset me says otherwise. Genuinely at a loss here.

If you've not experienced one of these stores, you probably should be forewarned about what to…read moreexpect. I am one of those ridiculous bargain shoppers who gets a thrill looking for the good deal. In this store there are definitely some amazing deals to be had for clothing, but there is a lot of work to get to it. This is where retail outlets send the absolute last things remaining, so you have to appreciate much of what ends up here has minor damage, or not so minor damage, or may have been miss-sized or made incorrectly or something to account for the fact it was sold for pennies on the dollar. But mixed in with all this damaged stuff are the jewels that you'll have to have a lot of time and patience to find. I recommend getting on their mailing list, as they will tell you when they have large events, and you get additional discounts on occasion. I have attended these events when they got a giant shipment of swimwear and have picked up swimwear in hard to find sizes for $3-4 a piece. I've gotten formal dresses for $10-15, nice brand shoes for $10-$20, name brand workout ware for $3-8, etc etc. My last trip through I got 2 French Connection brand sweaters that retail for $120 for $15 each. So if you are a person who finds thrill in the hunt, and has the time to hunt, come check this out and get on the mailing list. Just be sure to try on everything and go over it very carefully, as sometimes the damage is not immediately obvious. Happy Hunting!
