Cute place that's a must visit when driving through! The family that owns this coffee shop roasts their own beans and know how to do so without creating bitter beans. I had an Americano which came so scalding that the taste of the glue or lining used in the cup was sure to leak into my coffee had I not had a travel mug in the car from yesterday. In the time it took to get to the car and transfer a small amount of taste transfer had occurred, but it still drinkable. Hubby's cappuccino was a reasonable temperature, so clearly they know not to scald the milk. The coffee itself tastes great and it feels good to support a small local family. Stop here and then enjoy the park across the street. read more

Great little shop with a relaxing atmosphere. Lots of home style table and chairs for plenty of people to sit around and enjoy a morning drink or just have a bite with friends. Clean all the way around the place. They roast their own beans and even those areas were clean. It was a small town feel in the place. Order to go and was asked by several customers if they could help me out which is a great switch from our East Coast living. read more

We were passing through Pendleton on a road trip and needed to eat breakfast. We could not have made a better choice! My traveling companions and I loved everything about this place! Our food was excellent, the atmosphere relaxed and inviting, and we would highly recommend to anyone in the area to head to Bucking Bean. My friend Susan had the quiche of the day, which she described as 'the best she ever had!'. My friend Claudia had the breakfast burrito, also excellent and delicious while I opted for a spinach salad (I know it was 9:00, but come on) which was so yummy. But the best part was sharing the homemade blueberry scone. Hard to describe the awesomeness of this scone, maybe you should just go try for yourself! read more

Always good to see a shop roasting with a Diedrich Roaster. Besides being made in the US, it means the coffee isn't bitter. Breakfast croissant was flaky, light, with the right combination of bacon, eggs, and cheese. Delightful, friendly employees. Great location. Winston has a good thing going here. I look for special coffee places everywhere I travel. This goes right up at the top of the list. read more

This coffee shop/ roaster has excellent coffee. Im saying this as a person who only orders Americanos, no lattes, mochas to obscure the crema, from a fine shot of aromatic espresso. Good coffee, nice large restaurant on the edge of downtown in a residential neighborhood across from a nice park. Staff were friendly & made an effort to get to know us, even though we were out of towners. We purchased cinnamon rolls & baked blackberry oatmeal bars which were good & they were happy to box them up for us to take home. When we couldn't decide which drip coffee to get they pulled out cups for us to try for ourselves. read more

Love love loved my coffee! This place is absolutely worth a detour from the highway. The entire town is super cute, but if you've been driving through Oregon and need coffee and a snack, stop here! Hubby and kiddos went to playground right across the road while I ordered. We had a ham, cheddar, avocado and egg croissant and a bacon, cheddar, avocado, and egg tortilla. Iced cold brew and iced mocha were probably one of the smoothest we've had since we started our drive in South Texas. Yum! Thanks guys. read more

Good coffee and espresso from beans roasted in-store in small batches. Soup, sandwiches and various pastries also available. I had lunch with a tall mocha for around $10 which is comparable to a typical Starbucks but definitely without the whole cookie cutter corporate feeling. This small, comfortable coffee house is located amongst classic homes with an upscale atmosphere. It is directly across from Pioneer Park. Parking is available on side streets and behind the building. read more

Great atmosphere (country kitchen chic (simple wood tables & chairs and a red leather couch), food, and free wifi!!! The prices on the food for not including a side with the meal was a bit over priced to me, but the FRESH made Spinach Salad I ordered was delicious!!! I did not try their coffee and they roast their own beans so I have yet to have an opinion on that. I did have an Italian Soda that was okay, but for my taste preferences & having specified my drink order it could have used more breve. This was a way better alternative then having to drive back to I-84 to the next Pendleton exit to hit the SBUX. Check out the Buckin' Bean!!! read more

Very good food. Great coffee. Really nice people. Open Sunday and easy to find with Garmin. We had the quiche special, spinach salad and hot turkey sanwhich. Very hot and fresh. Then we got americanos to go. Simple clean decor and clean restroom! We will go back for sure. read more

If you have kids and or a dog go here!! The coffee is very good but the food was surprisingly good too!! There is an incredible playground across the street and it's a residential neighborhood so parking is easy breezy. Someone ordered the quiche and said it was the best he ever had. read more

One of my favorite things is that it's right across from Pioneer Park. You can grab coffee and a snack and go to the best park around. My favorite coffee in town. It's the first place I've seen to taste test before they hand it over and the best place for flavored drinks w/o the super-syrupy taste. Their cold brew coffee is absolutely delicious and great with breve. However, I don't recommend the Buckin Bean cold brew sold at the Dave's Chevron location. It's too bitter. It doesn't seem like it's prepared as carefully. read more

Stopping for a quick cup as we passed through town left my husband begging to return, so we did!! Settled in a cute neighborhood, the location is great for pretty much everyone! Whether you're on your way to a class at one of the nearby schools, looking for a great place to relax or meet up w/ a friend, or if you want to sip something yummy while you work; the atmosphere is friendly and the park across the street is also very convenient if you're looking to pass some time with your kiddos! Roasting is their specialty and they live up to the name! Although we have very different tastes, my husband & I both had no problem finding something to suit us both, not to mention their selection of goodies leaves everyone in our family satisfied!! We've been looking for a good coffee place since moving to NE Oregon a couple years ago and I think its safe to say we're looking forward to visiting more in the future!! :) read more

Easy to find. Parking hard with truck and trailer. Friendly service and CLEAN bathrooms. I am a total coffee snob.... So as for the coffee it was ok. I always get iced mochas and can easily tell if the shots are either burnt or not pulled to their full potential. In this case the shots were NOT burnt but it definitely could have tasted better. Buckin' Bean is for the true coffee lover. Some of the very best I have ever had. If you like dark roast spring for the french roast organic to take home and don't look back. The decaf is so good you can hardly tell it's decaf. IMO, better than most you can find in large cities. Their small batch freshness really makes a difference.
