In addition to this goodness, my lovely group got to check out a nice little art gallery. After another evening for the ages at Jimgermanbar, Jim walked us over to the gallery next door, AMO ART (see photos). Here we got to check out Jim's dogs, and then check out the exhibit of one of Waitsburg's own. The gallery, like Jimgermanbar, is minimalistic cool. The pieces were tastefully arranged in the space. The hardwood floors, lighting, and of course the art did exactly what Jimgermanbar does: transport you---they beam you to somewhere far away, but also right back to Waitsburg. The City of Waitsburg is jewel. I feel a little hesitant to toot their horn. I feel like I should keep it on the hush, just like my little fishing holes on the Touchet River which Runs Through Waitsburg. AVO ART has taken Waitsburg . . Up . . Another . . Notch

Definitely worth the visit for the different experience: a combination of art and wine. Two plus two equals five in this case, as the wine by itself--though decent--would not prompt a visit from us. AMBIANCE: 4.5. The presence of amusing art inside and outside creates a fun experience. We brought lunch and had it with our tasting outside on a nicely-shaded table. Gentle misters can be turned on to help keep one cool if needed. Toward the end of our tasting we met one of the winery owners, so were able to learn first-hand how decades earlier the family had established a foundry that cast pieces for artists from around the world, and had later expanded into wine-making. SERVICE: 5.0. Very attentive and considerate. Though we ended up not bringing our dog, they remembered that I had inquired (weeks earlier) if dogs were allowed and so had a doggy bowl of cold water waiting near our table. Thoughtful. WINE: 3.0. Overall the entire gallery was filled with many paintings (from floor to ceiling). I was here for a friend exhibiting, and I do have to say his White on White pieces totally stole the show and stood out the most. But yeah, I am a total fan of art. The Tri-Cities can use more of places like this. I believe most of the paintings on displays were for sale, and were made by local artist. So if you are in the mood for styling up your place with coolness and color this might be a place for you to check out!

A single, brightly-lit room that showcases the work of local artists. It's run by the Allied Arts Association who states that they seek to provide "art development, awareness and education for the Mid-Columbia region of Washington State, including the cities of Pasco, Kennewick, Richland and surrounding areas." Currently, they are running a show themed: Urban Sketchers: Tri-Cities and David Wyatt. The work was well-displayed, with room to breathe -- I should think that any artist would be honored to have their artwork displayed there. The Allied Arts Association and Gallery also have adult and children's workshops, and host an annual Art in the Park festival.
