After breakfast, hubby really wanted to go check out this place. I saw things I've never seen before and things I wish I hadn't seen. Lots of animal killing things, which breaks my heart. They have lots strange things; at least to me. lol. It's a fun place to go look around, but stay away from the animal skins and traps. Why aren't those outlawed! Grrrrr. Anyway, it's an interesting store. Everything from candy to Stihl equipment. They have kitchen cabinets and groceries and everything in between! I'll let the pictures do the talking! Oh and they even have a pet pig that wanders around the store between 10 and 2! lol I may never eat bacon again!

Hmmm.

This location of Ace Hardware has a great selection and a really solid staff. I was especially…read moreimpressed on the last visit with the attention and knowledge of the employees that helped us out. The location is clean and the selection is pretty good for a more intermediate-size hardware store. It's also mostly consistent with the idea of shopping locally. Ace Hardware stores are operated as cooperative not a franchise, as such each local store has lots of control over design and profits. This location seems to always have some sort of philanthropy effort going on.

With multiple renovations in progress, we shop here two or three times a week for that odd bolt or…read morefunky plumbing bit to fix something. They're a great resource, and I'm thankful they're here for us. They keep on top of stocking, so empty bins are rare. Downside is they're expensive relative to larger, home-improvement type stores, but you can't beat the convenience. The liberal hours are a big plus, something rare in our small town. Floor staff is friendly and helpful... but the checkout clerks? I find friendlier, more personable clerks at the DMV. Clearly, they're trained to be cold fish, absolutely not deviate from the annoying script about the rewards card, and refuse to recognize regular, frequent customers. Seems a little odd (to me) because I rarely need the guys on the floor - I know the store nearly as well as they do - so the only contact is usually with checkout. Heckuva way to treat your profit.
