I wasn't just casually browsing -- I had done my research, narrowed down models, and was ready to spend a significant amount of money on a luxury watch. This wasn't window-shopping. It was a real buying visit. Instead, I was met with indifference. Several sales associates were gathered together talking among themselves. Not a quick internal discussion -- actual socializing. I walked the floor, looked at displays, and stood near the counter more than long enough to be acknowledged. No greeting. No "Can I help you?" Nothing. What made it worse was that their attention clearly shifted when other people walked in -- particularly women -- while I remained invisible despite being ready to transact. In luxury retail, service is supposed to be part of the experience. If you're selling five-figure timepieces, the baseline expectation is attentiveness and professionalism. The irony is that they likely missed out on a very real sale that day. I came prepared to spend a substantial amount, and I left with my money still in my pocket. There are too many other authorized dealers and boutiques that understand customer engagement for me to chase someone down just to give them my business. When a store loses a ready buyer because staff would rather chat than sell, that's not a small oversight -- that's revenue walking out the door. What's with the name change?? When I worked in NYC, how I came to know the brand was the small Tourneau shop on the corner of 7th by Penn Station. Now it's Bucherer Roosevelt Field, a well respected name in the industry. I've been coming to this location for watch batteries and Rolex tune ups. The technicians on staff are certified to work on many different brands of watches. Except they no longer service Shinola. (I went to the other watch place in the mall) While browsing around the store while waiting for them to find my watch from repair, I noticed the sales people were very courteous and professional. They said the store offers a watch trade in policy and secure the financing. It's nice to know I don't have to travel into NYC to purchase high end and quality brands. read more

I would not recommend Bucherer at Roosevelt Field Mall, but instead recommend Tourneau at Walt Whitman Mall. I wanted a Cartier watch for my wife, and after checking the item on Tourneau's website for in-store pickup, I decided to go to Bucherer at Roosevelt Field Mall. However, the saleswoman there was not helpful at all. When I asked about the particular Cartier watch that was shown as available for in-store pickup on the website, she didn't even know which item it was and then told us they didn't have it in stock. My wife then looked at other Cartier models and found a different one she was interested in. However, the salesperson seemed disinterested in selling the watch to us. So, we decided not to purchase a watch from Bucherer at Roosevelt Field Mall. Instead, we checked the website again for pickup availability and decided to go to Tourneau at Walt Whitman Mall. The salesperson at Tourneau at Walt Whitman Mall greeted us warmly and was very helpful and knowledgeable. They did, in fact, have the item in stock, and our experience in purchasing the watch was very enjoyable. The salesperson answered all our questions and even offered us refreshments and chocolate. Sofiya was extremely knowledgeable about all things Rolex, and really helped me make the best decision when buying. She was fast, extremely communicative, and very accommodating. After looking at watches on Tourneau's website, I knew exactly which one I wanted to purchase for my husband. I called the Roosevelt field store to inquire about buying the timepiece. I sent my credit card information to the salesman and received a message saying that the watch was already sold. I was very disappointed. When I went back onto their website, another piece (same model) was there. I called the salesman again, but for some reason, he could not be bothered to help me. I called the store three additional times looking for help, but he kept answering the phone. This was such a frustrating experience! Walked in to the roosevelt field mall store to get my Cartier watch serviced. The watch had stopped working a while back because the battery died. Since my watch was bought here, they replace the battery at no charge. I was told to drop the watch and come back in 30 mins. Not bad but i think something as a battery replacement can be done in 15 mins or less. Quick in and out service. read more

My father wanted to get the battery changed on his Tag Heuer watch, however when we went to Tourneau we were not accommodated accordingly. We felt as if we were discriminated and ignored. We are people of color, specifically Asian, and we didn't appreciate the treatment of the employees. When the other customers who were not people of color, specifically Caucasian customers, entered the establishment they were welcomed immediately and accommodated very well. My father was rushed whereas the lady who bought a Rolex, was accommodated attentively. We hope the service changes since we have been coming here regularly to get his batteries changed. You wanna talk about a poorly trained sales staff and poor customer service. My wife and I went in there looking for a Michele watch. The sales person (mid aged, bald and black framed glasses) who has a personality of a pear came over and made us feel he's better than us. When I asked how much was the watch, he made a conscientious effort to enunciate that "it's ONE THOUSAND AND FIVE hundred dollars...sir!" as if we can't afford it. Of course what he neglected to recognize was the Panerai Radiomir on my wrist...lol. I'm a long time New Yorker with a very thick skin, so it takes a lot for me to get annoyed. Some of the worst customer service I have ever received in my life. I'm only giving this place one star because that's what I need to give it a review. I popped in earlier this evening to potentially purchase a watch for a friend's birthday. When I walked in, I was the only client in there; the sales people were standing around talking to each other. I politely asked if I could see a particular brand of watches. When the woman did not hear me, I repeated myself and an older gentleman hesitated to help me. I asked to see the same watch with two different bands. When I asked to see the first one, he hesitated to get it for me, stating, "This is $495." I said I know. When I asked to see the other one, he said, ".... This one is $750" in a very condescending tone. He continued to tell me that $495 for a watch is very fair. I never once said anything about having a hard time affording these watches. In the entire five minutes I was there, this man looked down on me as if I could not afford to purchase the watch I was looking at. I told him to have a good night and made my purchase of the same exact $750 watch at Macys and my saleswoman was absolutely lovely. Stay far away from this place. If you are already at Roosevelt Field Mall, make your purchase at one of the department stores instead. This place deserves no business at all. read more

This review is *solely* about the service and repair side of this store. OK - a little secret about me - I'm crazy about watches. I have way too many of them, and when it comes time to service them, I'm very picky about who I leave them with. Tourneau - I generally feel like I have to tolerate them, and it takes some work on my part. Having previously only patronized the NYC stores, I've become used to the pretension and attitude directed at you when you walk in. The Roosevelt Field store wasn't much different at first, but that all changed once I got past the salesdrones hovering around the front of the store. Gail is an absolute gem, a consummate professional who loves what she does, has a great demeanor about her, and knows her watches inside & out. She swapped batteries on 3 of my watches in about 40 minutes, immediately recognized and apologized for not having a replacement band for one of my watches, and advised that a fifth would need to be sent out due to it being damaged beyond her ability to repair in-house. Seeing a Breitling certificate in her name on the wall, I knew I could trust her word. Best of all was when she looked at what I had on my wrist, frowned, asked me for it, and proceeded to give it a quick once-over touch-up. Smart lady, as there were some snazzy watches in the display case under the repair station that attracted my eye... I know where I'm coming back whenever any of my watches need some TLC. Who knows, I may end up updating this review for the sales side of the store... read more

Costumer service is the worst!!! Salesgirl was not knowledgeable or interested in helping at all. I came with the watch model I wanted to purchase that I saw on Tourneau's website. First, she told me they didn't have this watch at the store but she can have it delivered. I bought an IWC Aquatimer from this store. When I got home and took the watch out of the box it quickly became obvious that it was either a used watch or a fake. It lacked the IWC security tape on the back, and the box itself was labeled for a different watch, and some of the documentation was missing. Very disappointed! Terrible experience ! Sold me a Brietling but wouldn't honor warranty and quoted me $800 to fix it. The I'll-trained staff didn't know how to set the date on this watch. I visited 3 times to get this sorted out but each time I went it was a new employee at the service center, who was clueless, and the sales rep Mike who sold me the watch offered no assistance.
