I live in Texas and was looking for a specific bicycle that was not sold anywhere in my area. I was planning a trip and needed to drive through Oklahoma City and called Buchanan Bicycles to ask questions regarding the size and brand of bike I was looking for. They answered all my questions and told me they had that bike in stock, so I stopped when I was passing through Norman to check it out. A younger gentleman (owner's son) made me feel very welcome. I received excellent customer service, and the price was right. I took a "test ride" and I purchased the bike. I have been riding it every day for the last 2 weeks. I absolutely love the bike and I will definitely be back when I need another one or even just if I need accessories! read more

Great, fast service and great prices! I didn't buy my bike from Buchanan but they gladly replaced my worn out chain. I dropped my bike off and in less than an hour it was ready. Tobin (the owner) helped answer questions and even told me that he replaced a missing screw which was causing my prior chain to fall off without charging me. read more

Very disappointed in the customer service from a local retailer. Purchased a bike, but was charged a $100 more than the price listed. When I pointed out that it was $100 more than I listed on the bike, the response was oops, we goofed, but we have to charge you the higher price. When I questioned if that was the best customer service they could provide, all I got was "we can give you a refund." Amazed that was the response on a sizable purchase. Not a "appreciate your purchase and apologies for our mistake." Understand mistakes happen in retail, but do not take your customers for granted just because we are in a seller's market. Definitely verify the price before you purchase, they will not hesitate to take advantage of the situation. read more

I spent $70 dollars on getting my bike fixed there. My front tire was flat, I needed new brakes and my gear shifter needed to be fixed. I get it back, not even 24 hours later, my front tire is flat again. They find out that the intertube was pinched between the tire and the rim, not punchured. Something that I couldn't have known about or prevented. They blame me for it and make me pay another $14 to fixed again instead of working something out. They are stuck up and rude. If they have someone in there buy one of they expensive bikes, they will treat you like you aren't that important. I have gone to them for all of my bike problems, everything from getting a new rear wheel, tire and multiple intertubes. I was so upset when I left the last time, this maybe the last time I go back to them. read more

I must admit I was reluctant to do business here because I assumed their services would be expensive due to the location and perceived overhead. I gave them a shot one day and I was pleasantly surprised that they are actually very reasonable. The staff is very courteous and knowledgeable. I used to like them when they first opened but now that they have their customers they act very stuck up. Instead of giving me options to fix my bike they try to up sell me. There is this older gentleman there who is a mechanic. He is the best and cares a lot about people getting on their bike. read more

Best bike shop in Norman in my opinion. Their bike services are good and fairly priced and their parts selection and price are good as well. The only complaint I do have is some of the staff are cycling elite/purists and seem to have a condescending attitude. Once I went in and waited at the counter for about 10-15 mins while the clerk ignored me. I finally got his attention and explained what I needed only to be told that he didn't work there but his brother or friend or something did. I then had to wait another 10 minds for that person to come help me. read more
