Good food! Which is a plus, since the service here is... slow. It's the "expect to be assertive"…read morestyle of German restaurant, where they're pretty much going to leave you alone unless you wave them down and ask for something.
Sadly, I'm the only person here. The food was on the plus side of "good," not mind-blowing or anything. Doesn't beat my favorite NYC Eastern European restaurant, but I had a good Greek salad here (except the olive were green, ugh), a good entree and a good little dessert. Very interesting atmosphere, sort of like a formerly tying-to-be-elegant family restaurant that is a little worn at the edges. Seems like a family-run place, still; there were kids running around, a dog they were playing with outside, that sort of thing.
Want blinis? This is a good place to go.
