They didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need, which I really appreciate and in doing that I felt confident enough to add extra maintenance repairs I knew the car needed but was avoiding for fear of being taken advantage of. IMO, Okan is the most honest mechanic in Chicago. His shop does great work. Okan rebuilt my Porsche 911's motor during Covid (4 years ago) and it has been running fantastic ever since. Not a single issue with his work. His shop was also able to perform a "Gundo Hack" on my Porsche's exhaust and the car has never sounded better. This is a great shop. If I could give these guys more than five stars, I would. While not my regular shop, these guys took care of me like I had been going there for 20 years. When my beloved Nissan 300zx wouldn't start, the guys met me at my garage and pushed my car into the ahop. Then, they kept the car for over a week and Rafael provided me with a comprehensive diagnosis. Well, first, I made an appointment. Was told to bring the car in before 10. Got there at 9:45 and they said they wouldn't be able to look at it that day, first come, first served. ?? Then, when I drove the car off the lot after repairs, the AM radio no longer had reception (FM fine). I called a few times during business hours and got voicemail, which was full. Finally, got through to leave a vm. Didn't hear back, so called again the next day and got to speak to someone (the owner, I think). This is the worst part. I explained that the AM worked when I brought it in, but didn't when I got it back, I assumed something got bumped and just needed an easy tweak. I was rather surprised that he dismissed me immediately saying that they had nothing to do with the radio and that they don't do audio. (Unwittingly admitting that he has no idea what could trip the radio reception). At one point he said, "I know you're confused." WHAT? What's confusing about, it worked when I left it with you and didn't when I got it back? Pro tip: gaslighting is infuriating and abusive and a great way to lose customers. I think they're overwhelmed. Maybe understaffed. Accepting more business than they can handle. read more

I called the shop to get some clarity about an invoice my wife and I received and Okan Sengullu was incredibly rude and condescending to me when I asked some basic questions. I asked him why he was being rude and he flipped out and said he wouldn't work on my car "in a million f*cking years" and that I should "take it to another shop where they charge 30% more" and I needed to pick my car up now. I don't know what was going on with him personally today, but he's in the customer service business, so perhaps he should learn to be more professional. Had a serious need for an alignment and took my car to Bucaro brothers. I didn't realize I had more of an issue with a bent tie rod that was causing issues. Once this was repaired and the alignment was completed my SUV was driving much more smoothly. I recommend Bucaro brothers for car repair. I first started using this auto service back in 2015 out a recommendation from a friend. At first it was good but within the past 3 years their fees went up and no explanation for it. They also misdiagnose and charge you for everything, labor and parts. They say they don't charge for computer reading but they do if you fix your car with them, they bill an extra half hour. I put them to the test with in the past 4 months. I brought my car in to fix a part that sits on top of the engine that would take no more than 20 mins to replace but they charged me 1.5 hours worth or labor plus the part. I also brought my car in because it was leaking antifreeze so they replaced the reservoir but that was not the problem, it kept leaking so I tried to open the reservoir to add coolant and the lid was stuck on the reservoir so O twisted and the main part of the lid came of and was able to add more antifreeze to bring it back. They found the leak was a hose and not the reservoir so they replaced the reservoir and charged me for it even though it was damaged then suggested I replace all coolant hoses for $1300 including the reservoir. Also, I recently had a sensor go out in the car and they wanted to charge me $600 to replace a $12 sensor. No Way! I will not be going back here again. Do your research to make sure you are being billed correctly because we don't know they take advantage of that. read more

I brought my car in as my engine light went on. I get a call the next morning and whoever was on the line was incredibly rude, unprofessional, and obviously distressed. I couldn't find the quote he sent me, and he huffed and puffed and got annoyed with me. I just moved here and am not used to being spoken to so rudely. Sticking up for myself, I said, woah woah excuse me please, can you give me a minute to get the invoice up so I know what you're charging me for? That set him off. He called me a "fucking bitch" etc. and said he would not work on my car and that I had two hours to come pick it up. I had to leave work and go bring the car to another place. This is my 2nd review for this business. To start 2020, I took my '15 RR Sport in for a major repair and maintenance. Having done business with Bucaro Bros. since 2002, they have my complete trust due to their honesty, transparency, speed and quality of work and very fair pricing. This continued as I was greeted by the friendly owner and promised a diagnosis in an hour. Not only did I get that diagnosis in less than an hour, but he shared a clear video and explanation of what happened and a couple of plans to resolve the issues based on what I was able to spend. The prices were so reasonable, I was able to have everything done and was able to include some preventive maintenance (and saved hundreds if not a couple of grand from what the dealership would've charged). Did I mention they had my inoperable vehicle back that same day? Usually when I have to get my car serviced, I dread it because I often feel I'm getting ripped off especially at the dealership. I came in here a couple of times and each time the guys have been great. They explain to me what they did and what was wrong with my car. I noticed my car smelled like gas/oil every time I put my heat on. It smelled like that for about a week, so I called and asked if they could take a look at it even though they were closing early due to Christmas Eve. They took a look and found that my air filter was super dirty and vacuumed it out for me. My 3 year old daughter was with me and they did it quickly. Charges for labor even thought they did not find anything in my tire. They did not find a slow leak in my tire. They said if I experienced anymore problems that I should come back and they would take care of it free of charge. Three weeks later my tire experienced a slow leak. I called to confirm if they would honor what they said regarding looking at my tire again free of charge. Instead of listening, the person that answered the phone was combative and confrontational. When I told him I did not appreciate his tone he kept on being combative and said to not bother coming in for service. I said he was acting like a jerk and he responded with derogatory language that should not be acceptable in any professional workplace. read more

He advised her that he remembered that Luxus had a Service Bulletin on this issue and she should call them. Lexus proceeded to fix it at no charge even though-the car is 9 years old. My car is very old and a total piece of jumk. I only keep it around for emergencies. It has had a weird burning smell lately so I took it to Bucaro Brothers to find out what was happening. They were incredible. I dropped it off, they called back 3 hours later with a very long list of what was wrong and then offered me expert advice on what they would do if it was their car. Since none of the issues were going to cause the car to explode or catch on fire or anything we decided not to do any of the work (car isn't worth the money for the repairs). When I picked up the car they didn't charge me anything for their evaluation and estimate even when I tried they turned me down. This shop reminds me of the kind in the small town I grew up in. They are honest, helpful, and I will absolutely come back. Also, as a woman I am used to being talked down to in a garage, not here! They were respectful and didn't make me feel like an idiot at all.
