This was our first visit to a Buc-ee's, and we were impressed. We'd heard that it was a truck/auto stop on steroids, and that is a perfect metaphor for what we experienced. Essentially the store is roughly 100,000 square feet under roof, displaying just about everything one might wish to buy. Another term for it would be impulse buying nirvana. There was a partial wall of jerky ... yes, just different jerkies. There was a partial wall of soda pop offerings ... pour your own and pay on the way out. There was a whole section that was set up as a general store, sort of like the inside of a Cracker Barrel operation, but bigger. There were a pair of circular counters where staff were prepared foods as you waited ... one devoted to sweets and chocolate, and the other to meats ... like BBQ and fried chicken sandwiches. Potato chips, potato sticks, popcorn (all different types and flavors), all sorts of candy offerings, pickles, etc, etc, etc. You get the idea ... gobs of things to see and buy. Because of this shopping experience, expect a crowd almost anytime; but the facility was big enough to spread out the masses, and there was a lot of parking outside to handle it. It is crowded, but don't let that stop you from visiting. When you pull into the parking lot you will be presented with gas pumps, and that is what makes it a very nice stop. Now I said gas pumps, but that doesn't do it justice ... there had to be 100 pumps spread across about 25 islands. Prices were very good too. The highlight of the visit though had to be the washrooms. People traveling the interstates need gas and rest stops ... and Buc-ee's provides both in a neat way. The bathrooms were spotless, and being cleaned round-the-clock. It appeared that there was a permanent staff member assigned there. All to say, do make your way to a Buc-ee's, if you have the chance. We'll arrange our trips between Chicago and Charlotte so that we pass by this newish Buc-ee's ... that's how much fun it was to stretch our legs on this trip. Recommended. read more

If you've never been to Buc-ee's before... imagine a gas station, a grocery store, a barbecue joint, a candy shop, and a Texas roadside fever dream all smashed together under one giant beaver logo. That was my experience today visiting the first Ohio Buc-ee's -- and wow, this place is an experience. The store was massive, spotless, and packed with every snack imaginable. From homemade fudge to beef jerky walls that looked endless, it felt like Disneyland for road trip food lovers. The bakery section alone could ruin any diet in under five minutes. I tried the famous Paddle Tail pastry -- a giant cinnamon sugar puff pastry loaded with frosting -- and let's just say my blood sugar may still be recovering. Totally worth it. The brisket sandwiches smelled incredible, the hot food selection was huge, and somehow even the bathrooms lived up to the hype. Yes, it was crowded. Yes, people were taking selfies with the beaver. And yes... I absolutely bought more snacks than any human needs for one road trip. Buc-ee's isn't just a stop for gas -- it's a full-blown roadside adventure. All I gotta say is WOW! It's like a bright Walmart as big that's also a gas station. But on steroids and much better in a way. This is weird. I couldn't find the price of gas. They don't have a sign. At all. I guess you just drive up to the pump to see the price. It does appear to be good. About .50 cents less than the Sunoco across the street. Inside is chaos. Not because of them. Just the mass amount of people shopping. You can get almost anything you want in there. Bathing suits, cooking utensils, prepared food, seasonings, all types of prepared and snack foods and drinks. Even a bakery. Lines to check out were long. But moved fast. People spend a lot of money. Parking is a bit crazy. Pro tip park on the far left side of the building. Get out easier and less cars. Everyone goes right. To get out follow the signs. There is no short cut. Just follow the 70 signs. Otherwise it will take you 2 to 3x longer to get out. You get caught in this weird maze of people coming in and trying to get out or get gas or whatever. This might be out of my system. Cool for first but not sure I'd go back. I came check out their new location in Ohio, there are like a thousands people here. I don't go to many grand openings but for Buc-ee's I made over a 300 mile Journey just to come over here and experience the madness first hand. I came here in the evening thinking that parking would be less hectic. Honestly, it wasn't too bad with parking. Making my way inside, this place is packed like it's Black Friday 2008 , merchandise was flying off the shelves and everything is being sold at an exponentially fast pace . Long lines outside to get a photo with the Buc-ee's statue and I was disappointed to see Bucee the beaver wasn't dressed up inside . It's always a fun stop (and always crowded). But Buc-ee's has become a piece of Americana. The Ohio one is no different. The parking area did look larger than most other Buc-ee's I've visited. So that was a plus in trying to find a space. The inside was stuffed with all varieties of Buc-ee's souvenirs --- including bathing suits! There was even a birthday party section- for your next Buc-ee's themed birthday party. The help was extremely friendly. The store was clean. Opening day for this Buc-ees (4/6/26) and there had to be north of 500 cars in the place. Gas was priced good so I filled up my tank and then headed inside to get something for lunch. Tried to experience the hype at the first Ohio Buc-ee's and went all in on the recommended staples--beef brisket sandwich, Carolina pulled pork, Beaver Nuggets, and grabbed some beef jerky for later. Honest take: the sandwiches were just okay, but very salty--more than I expected and kind of took away from the flavor. The Beaver Nuggets were definitely the highlight--sweet, crunchy, and worth the grab. Looking forward to digging into the jerky, which I've heard is where they really shine. One frustration: tried to fuel up, but the pump wouldn't accept my fleet WEX card, so I ended up filling up across the street. Opening day for Buc-ee's in Huber Heights, Ohio. We showed up at 10:30 am and the parking lot was full. We drove around the lot for over a half hour to finally find a parking spot. We got inside and it was a mad house, but it was a fun mad house. Everyone was walking around, bumping into each other, but everyone was smiling and happy. They opened at 6:00 am to the public but they had the official ribbon cutting ceremony at noon. The Mayor of Huber Heights Jeff Gore was there giving the owner of Buc-ee's Arch "Beaver" Aplin III the key to the city, and also issued a proclamation marking Monday April 6, 2026 as Buc-ee's Day in Huber Heights. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine was also there making a speech. There were also a lot of press in attendance covering the opening. If you have ever been to a Buc-ee's, it's much of the same. Except for today it was just special. Every department was very busy but they were all keeping up. The brisket sandwich makers were just non-stop. Just as soon as they fill the board with sandwiches, they were scooped up immediately. The pastry department was super busy along with the fudge counter and the Jerry counter. What was great was everyone was happy and smiling. All of the workers, and all of the customers were just so happy. People taking pictures all over the place in and outdoors. But the happiest people were the one's in the long checkout lines. People not only with their food offerings, but also the ones with the many Buc-ee's related treasures. Tee shirts, hats, pajamas, post cards, bumper stickers, and on and on. It was a great time had by all. We spent around two hours in total and when we left, it was just as difficult to get out of the parking lot as it was to get in. When we got out to the main street, the traffic was backed up all the way out onto I70 and backed up for about three miles down 70. It's amazing the attraction that Buc-ee's is. It will calm down after awhile but Buc-ee's is going to change this area for the good for a long time to come. Buc-ee's is always a great adventure. Always a great stop as I roll down the interstate, Buc-ee's is finally making it way north. I believe this is the first one north of Kentucky, so I'm excited to see it. It's also about an hour from my house, which means I'll probably be swinging by more regularly. I stopped 6 days after their official grand opening, and getting into the parking lot was slow as traffic was backed up to the offramp of the interstate, but it wasn't too bad. Oddly, finding a parking spot wasn't too bad either. I mean, I knew they just opened and I was a little more patient that normal, and I think you have to expect that. Inside was the typical Buc-ees experience. Lots of people everywhere, jovial staff churning out brisket sandwiches, and Buc-ee's branded merchandise everywhere. I saw the check-out lines when I entered and braced for a long delay, but the cashiers were quick and efficient and took less time than my normal grocery store. Leaving though.. that was an issue. It took me more time to get out of the parking lot than it did to drive the hour to the store. The one traffic light at the exit on the main road was on a timer that let very few people out once it turned green, and it stayed green much longer than it needed to on the main road. There was no one directing the flow of traffic (in or out) and it just became very messy with a lot of people upset. Mr. Buc-ee, I would highly suggest making sure the local traffic division does a time study on your stoplight and that you bring in some people to help direct the flow of traffic during your stores grand openings. I mean, I'll be back for sure.. but it will probably be in the middle of the night when I will hopefully encounter a few less people until things settle down. read more

I am not sure how many stars to give. For Buc-cee's itself 5 stars - no doubt!! However- I give 4. Here is the reason why: I love the variety of items they sell in the store. You can find anything- from food to snacks, clothing, household items, and knick knacks. It almost feels like walking into a department store. We stopped at Buc-cee's on a Sunday morning around 10:30am. We were lucky to swoop in without having to wait in line to get to Buc-cee's. The lines are brutal on the weekends and often stretch all the way to the interstate. However it was challenging to even find a parking spot. I felt pretty overwhelmed when we walked into the building. The crowds of people where were too much for me and gave me anxiety. The check out lines were overwhelmingly long. At the time we left we noticed that the line of cars to get to Buc-cee's was snaked all the way to I-70. A big problem I see is also that there is only one entrance and one exit to get to and leave Buc-cee's. Hopefully the city will come up with a solution soon. read more

I've been to Buc-ee's several times in Texas, this is my first location out of the state. They surprisingly do carry the same amount of items and are always fully stocked. I've had my eyes on the crystal cow skulls forever but flying back and and trying to ship was just a hassle, so now I'm glad I'll be able to drive out and grab one when I'm ready for it! The beef jerky, brisket sandwich and beaver nuggets are what they are mostly known for but also their clean restrooms - which is true and the amount of gas pumps! Nice large location. We went the first Saturday so obviously it was extremely busy and there was barely any walking room but service was quick and you make it through the lines fast. We got three sandwiches. A chopped brisket, a sliced brisket and three meat sandwich. The chopped brisket, always my favorite, was good but the sliced brisket was a tad disappointing since it was a little chewy and dry. The three meat sandwich was good but not my favorite. Sunday was a better day since we were actually able to get in the lot. The restrooms were clean and plenty. Beaver nuggets were good. We liked the chicken sandwich which was hot n ready. As part of our road trip tradition, we had to stop at the brand-new Buc-ee's in Huber Heights near Dayton, and this place absolutely lives up to the hype. The line of traffic coming in was nonstop, and even the parking lot felt like an event. Cars were constantly pulling in and out, and the fuel area stretches forever. I ended up at pump 248, which tells you just how massive this place really is. At 74,000 square feet with 120 fuel pumps, this is one of the largest Buc-ee's locations anywhere, and you can absolutely feel that scale from the moment you pull in. Another great reason to stop here is the gas price. It was $0.20 per gallon cheaper than the gas station across the street, making it the least expensive gas in the area right off I-70. Inside, it is amazing. The store was packed, but everything was spotless and incredibly well organized. The restrooms were not only clean, they were brand-new clean, sparkling and exactly what Buc-ee's is famous for. The snack and dessert section is almost unbelievable, rows of cookie dough bites, puddings, brownies, cookies, fudge, and fruit bars. It honestly feels like part convenience store, part bakery, part gift shop, and part road-trip wonderland. The brownie that I bought was very good. The peanut butter cookie was pretty good, but it really had just enough peanut butter in it to qualify as a peanut butter cookie. It is not quite like the kind we have at home, made by the world-renowned peanut butter cookie maker. A special shoutout to Jaylynn, who shared that he drives about 23 miles from Dayton to work here and does not mind the drive at all because he is so glad Buc-ee's is finally here. That kind of enthusiasm from the staff really added to the experience. What really stood out is how much the area has already changed to support this location. There are new intersections, expanded traffic lanes, and major roadway construction that appears to have more than doubled the size of the road leading in. That tells you just how much traffic Buc-ee's is already bringing. So happy that Buc-ee's has made it to Ohio! This is the 6th Buc-ee's I've been to. We went 10 days after it opened. The layout of the parking lot is totally different from the other ones I've been to. The main entrance was a total clustercluck with cars trying to go in every direction at the same time cars were trying to get out of parking spots, etc. It took us 30 minutes just to get out of the chaotic entrance and find a parking spot. The gas station is split into two areas, to the left and right of the main entrance. When we left, we figured out where the other entrance was, and it wasn't nearly as backed up. We'll definitely use that entrance next time!!! It was a Saturday afternoon, and it was so crowded it was hard to move around. By the time we left (an hour later), it was calming down a bit. I got a sliced brisket sandwich and brisket burrito (for later). The sliced brisket sandwich was pretty weak. The meat to bun ratio was off. I took off the bun and there wasn't as much brisket as I remembered. I ended up ditching the bun and just ate the brisket. We also got some puddings and a peanut butter cookie and slice of Texas sheet cake to try. The peanut butter cookie was nothing special. The Texas sheet cake was amazing! I think we found a new thing we'll have to get every time we go there! The brisket burrito is definitely still my favorite thing (besides the hippo breakfast taco). I always load up on their green salsa, because it tastes so good on their burritos and tacos! One thing I noticed is that the bakery was missing kolaches and cinnamon rolls. I couldn't find any prepackaged cinnamon rolls either. They were insanely busy, so perhaps they couldn't keep up with the demand. I look forward to going back when the excitement dies down. I'm sure they'll have a better time keeping up with things. (There were a lot of empty shelves, and employees were out trying to restock things when there was barely space to do so!) Finally got the chance to visit the newest Buc-ee's location in Huber Heights, Ohio with the family. My daughter lives close by so we decided to check it out and see what all the hype is all about. It took almost an hour in our cars, waiting in line to try to find available parking. Once parked, we got inside and was met with friendly employees and crazy pandemonium! Super crowded, with people everywhere, however there was enough room to be able to walk + get around. We were able to grab a couple of great food, snacks, and souvenirs. Overall, it was what we expected it to be. We were not disappointed. Because there were so many people we could always see about 30% of the store. The bathrooms are super huge and very clean. Will definitely need to return on another day when there is no one there. The best part about Buc-ee's is that it's open 24 hours a day. My wife and I live 5 miles away. We were awaiting our chance to visit and get some burritos. We were so disappointed with the high prices for such substandard burritos which were lacking in flavor with too much salt. At 8.99 per burrito, we could have gotten much better quality at a better value at Hot Head Burritos or Chipotle which are closer to us, not to even take into consideration the 2 burritos for 16.99$ deals Hot Head runs on a weekly basis. I still cannot wrap my head around the fact that I paid 18$ for 2 disastrous flour tortillas full of what tasted like mush and salt. The worst burritos I've ever eaten. The wife's 10 ounce container of macaroni and cheese for 7$ was over priced and average. Does the bougie beef jerky case where customers choose a particular flavor which is weighed and wrapped like lunch meat warrant 30$ a pound for jerky? Aldi's, Krogers, Walmart and Sam's Club sells beef jerky for less than half the Buc-ee's price? I can say that the one thing good on our receipt was the small brownie for 2.69$. But then, we could have made a whole pan of better tasting brownies from Kroger at 3-4$ . My wife and I felt cheated. But at least the founder millionaires Arch "Beaver" Aplin III and Don Wasek BTW Buc-ees, is Ghost peppered beef jerky the hottest you can come up with? I had a sample and it was somewhat laughable. At 30$ a pound, I'm sure you can do better than that. It was my first trip to a Buc-ee's on 4/18/26. The location was Huber Heights. The staff was friendly and seemed to enjoy working there. We did get in and out of check-out within just a few minutes. However, the parking is challenging. It is very difficult to find a parking space upon entry. When entering and leaving, it becomes one lane. The inside of the store is nice, it has a lot of cool items and decent prices. My only critical review within the store is that some food items are placed on top of the countertops in which customers can grab what they want vs standing in line and waiting. The problem is when customers such as myself want to grab items on the counter, the customers acted like we were cutting the line and literally were ready to fight. ??? The grab and go items should be off to the side (some were, but most were not) and lines should be more established vs a free for all gathering blocking everything. I would have bought more if I didn't have to cut through customers in line just to grab something already packed and ready to go. The restrooms were nice. I would not say that they were the cleaniest ever, but based on the clientele in this area, I'm sure that it is difficult to maintain a spotless restroom. Me and one of my family members decided to go to buc-ee's in our home state for the first time on April 11th 2026. I was really excited that this was coming to Ohio!! We have been to the largest buc-ee's in Texas near San Antonio before and fell in love with it. So we drove down which was only 2 hours from where we live and we noticed the exit off the highway to get there. I will say we wasn't too happy with their being so much traffic and it being in their parking lot which is understandable since it just opened up earlier that week but we finally got inside the place was super crowded but I will say I was so impressed with the staff that work their!! They worked their asses off left and right and got food, stock etc out in no time!! I rank 100% for them!!! We both tried the chopped brisket sandwiches and they were so delicious and their bag chips were also good as well!! I will definitely come back in a later time when it's less crowded and to spend more time in the store!! read more
