This business has decent food but managers are liars and treat "some" employees like crap. I went there to interview for a dishwashing job and was content to leave when informed they had no day positions. The kitchen manager and his assistant talked me into working there as a prep cook and backup pizza person. I told them at least 8 times I wasn't fast at line positions anymore because of my eyesight. The reassured me each time it didn't matter there would always be help. They knew I needed 20 hours a week, didn't care, didn't hardly even train me for prep and then gave me 1 four hour shift on a 2 week schedule so I would "go away". I had my family visiting from California, and my dad is one to who likes to try State specific food or at least restaurants that you can't find in California. I asked my coworkers what would be a great restaurant to take them to for lunch and they both suggested Bubbas. I was a little hesitant just because it could easily been an average Joe bar food type restaurant. When we walked in, we were greeted and instantly seated with a great server. My mom is very particular about customer service so I'm glad she had good conversation with our server without it effecting the timeliness of our orders. My family all ordered various burgers but they all enjoyed it. Although a comment we all had was that the burgers were so big you'd have to cut them in half in order to pick them up without having everything slide off the bun. (Not totally a bad thing, because at least we were getting what we paid for) The fries were a bit on the salty side but they had great texture which I love. I ordered the Habanero Burger and it was amazing. It had a slice of fried sour cream and jalapeños in it (pretty much a party of jalapeño poppers) and habanero sauce. It wasn't as spicy as I was expecting but it was still great. The burger was super juicy so at the end of my meal, my left overs were drenched. The atmosphere was great. It was filled with sports attire and flags hung up on the walls and ceilings. It was a great conversation starter for my family, as they are absolutely obsessed with sports. Shrimp po' boy was pretty good; the layered fries were ok, but only lukewarm; kid's burger and fries were hot. Not sure if they didn't realize the fries were a meal or what that they weren't served hot. I'd never been there before, and the waitress was a little condescending when showing me the drink menu which she did without inquiring if I'd be interested in a drink from the bar. Food reached the table in a reasonable time, and my sweet tea didn't get low. A bit pricey, imo. read more

Tried Bubba's for the first time last night. My boyfriend isn't the type to try new places but he heard the servers wear less than Twin Peaks. Jeez go figure lol. I really had my hopes up since I suggested going there and didnt want a dissapointment to be on my shoulders. After we were seated, much to bf's dismay we noticed all servers had on jeans and t-shirts. HaHa... It was super busy but we were able to get a table right off in the "garage" Our server was quick to get to us and we ordered two draft beers. She told us their draft beers are poured at 33 degrees, the mugs are kept at (i dont remember) degrees so when poured are below freezing (i think). She also mentioned they have twin peaks beat because the beer is so cold. By the way, thats why bf likes going to TP's because the beer is so cold (his story...riiight) Anyway, when they arrived at our table it was obvious they WERE cold as hell because the top layer was like a beer slush. I have a feeling that is actually what the "better than twin peaks" rumor was all about. Not the scantily dressed servers. Anyway.. Next we ordered the shotgun shrimp as an appetizer. i dont like spicy food generally but these were pretty good. For our meal I ordered the margherita pizza, and bf ordered the 12 oz. ribeye done MR. ( fingers crossed, please be a good steak, this isnt a steak house and he's so picky and it was my idea to come here). Our foood arrived pretty quick and looked delicious. Bf cuts into the steak and it was cooked perfect. yay! About half way into our meal I hear him say he cant believe how good the steak is. Did I mention he's picky about steak? so yeah :) In the menu it describes the margherita pizza as having smoked tomatoes and omg thats what they were! A mouthwatering smokey flavor, delicious! How the heck do they do that? The pizza crust is prepared thin, which I prefer and was pleasantly suprised that the outer crust was very soft and not rock hard, which I DONT prefer. I ordered the small (12") pizza and found myself wanting to eat the whole thing even though I was stuffed after 3 pieces. Took the rest home for a snack the next day but it didnt even make it past a midnight snack. Couldnt stop thinking about those damn smokey tomatoes. So, great service, super cold beer and delicious food. The only thing I might mention is that it was a pretty noisy atmosphere and with umpteen TV'S every where it might be a little overwhelming to people wanting a quieter experience. Also, there was a bean bag toss game on the front sidewalk RIGHT in front of the door. You had to side step to the door or else walk in the way of the bean bag tossers. Bubbas has awesome food and is great to watch a game at. I usually order their smoked chicken wings, pizza or Stromboli. They are always delicious and very consistent. The only complaint I have is that they can be slow at times. read more

We had lunch here a couple of weeks ago, and it was a very good experience. Can't say that about a number of casual dining concepts these days. Onion rings are fantastic, wish I didn't like them so much. Opted for a salad entree, it was fresh, chilled, and a lot of food. We may split the salad on the next visit. No complaints on our food or service. Frosty cold beers too. Had the California chicken which was tasty and moist, the pico de gallo was definitely made fresh!! Hubby had the Habanero burger which he said had a bite which means to the normal person like me or you it was hot....he is just somewhat of a hot freak so it probably had a great punch to it. Fun surroundings, great place to see your favorite sporting event on TV, tons of TV's!! We ate in the Garage which is a fun area with garage doors that open for the outdoor feel but with screens so no annoying bugs while you eat. We will be back! read more

I've always loved restaurants with classical food. Bubba's 33 did just that. The definition of classical burgers was right here. Their tater tots were absolutely fire. The staff were friendly, and the wait on New Year's Eve at 7:00pm was not very long, about 15 minutes. All and all, no complaints. Great restaurant. :) read more

There's something about this place that makes it one of my favorite places to eat/watch the game/hang w friends. It's family-friendly too which is important to me. Most importantly is The Shot Gun Shrimp. It's BY FAR my favorite thing to order. I'm not even a huge spicy food fan, but it's so delicious that I'll eat as much as I can while my mouth is on fire. It's a love-hate relationship (with more love). The shrimp's lightly fried and topped with a spicy cream sauce, plus green onions and served on a bed of potato straws. They have a couple of bean bag games along the front outside and half of the restaurant is outside. Pretty cool and different. Wichita needed Bubbas! And I need their shrimp recipe. read more

First time here and not disappointed. It's a Friday night and the place is packed. Parking is crowded but adequate. We did call ahead seating and only waited about 10 minutes for a table for 2. Service was swift and sure, drinks and apps were ordered immediately and our food orders were taken shortly after. We were not hounded to death by our server, which happens far too frequently in this type of casual establishment. The food. FANTASTIC onion rings. I ordered the mushroom burger and it was seriously satisfying. My Goose Island IPA was super cold. My wife had the Philly steak sandwich, which was not great but also not their specialty. Pros: Great service, quite good food and amazing prices. Cons: Cold as the grave. Seriously, they're storing frozen goods in here. The volume is too freaking loud, I like to be able to talk to my wife, not yell at her. OSHA should check on the staffs hearing. Personal peeve: TVs everywhere. read more

Sunday night 9pm. First visit was lousy on two fronts. Service and food quality. Service: the help was more interested in having a small party (6 or 7 clustered around a table) than serving. When we were served our food we did not have silverware and had to get it ourselves. When the waitress saw this her response was to give us the sign up card to get on their mailing list. It was one of these long memorized speeches that makes both parties uncomfortable. You know the kind. I hate to complain in a restaurant. In the end when I stated that my half eaten burger and fries was not good she did not offer to call a manager, take it off the bill or give is a dessert. She just dropped the full bill, said she was sorry and beelined it back to the party. Food: My wife's salad was "fine" - mediocre. I got the bacon cheeseburger. It was sloppy to the point of using a knife and fork. The Interesting thing is that the patty is supposed to be 33% bacon and something special. This burger was so covered in sloppy additions that I could not taste the meat. Every bite left my mouth and throat burning for a few minutes, Salt? Pepper? The bacon in the meat? I couldn't identify the source. The French fries were super salty as well. Whatever they use to season them has a lot of salt, sugar and I and guessing white pepper? At any rate I couldn't get through them. I doubt we'll go back. Unless this place makes changes their help is going to run their customers off. read more

Bubba's has a great atmosphere! So much fun! Food was fast and right! Wings have just enough kick to need a smooth drink. I recommend their "Midnight Train" for the ladies. Sweet and tart balanced. I will begin with a caveat. Beware when ordering the Fire Fries as then tend to run rough shod over anything that accompanies them, including your beer. They would probably be best ordered as an appetizer and shared with others. They totally overpowered the flavor of my beer which was a lovely, bitter IPA, and obscured my burger almost entirely after I had eaten about a dozen fries. That was really too bad as I ordered the Sunshine burger which features a patty of freshly ground beef and bacon. I give this 3 out of 5 starts because there is really nothing special about it, you can go to a ton of places and get a good pizza and hamburger. The service was pretty awesome, they messed up on our pizza so the managers came out and told us they had to remake it and so it would be a little longer, would of been better customer service if we would have gotten a discount but it's the fact that she came to us that made us happy. The pizza dough was really good, although it was so thin we had to fold up our pizza just to eat it or else it would just droop down. Really enjoyed the toppings and the sauce, very good. I would give bubbas at 4.5/5, we did call ahead and still had a little bit of a wait, which we knew because they say on the phone you'll still have a wait, but we played cornhole so it went fast. The food was good, reasonably priced, our table had the bacon burger, 12" cheese pizza, chili cheese burger & BBQ boneless wings. The service was good and food came out fast. When we left, we had a to-go box on the table and we forgot it, we came back in not even 2 minutes later and it was gone, they made us a whole new pizza, and put a rush on it. So the first thing was the bathroom was dedicating. It looked like it had not been cleaned in a few weeks. And it was only 1pm on a Sunday. The staff was busy and did not check our table very often. We where running out of drinks the hole time. One burger was over cooked and the other was raw in parts. The only thing that was done Wright was the stake which was free because they messed up last time and gave us a free stake. This time was the last time we will ever eat there. This is now my favorite place to eat in Wichita. My first time here was during the NCAA National Basketball Tournament. It was awesome because there are a great deal of TVs, so you can see many of the games at once. It's great for sports fans. I love their food. I've introduced quite a bit of my friends to this restaurant, and all of them have enjoyed it too. I have tried a number of things on the menu. The only this we've had that we didn't really like were the wings and that was mostly due to a lack of sauce. My personal favorite item on the menu is the bacon burger, and I love their frozen fruity margaritas! We've had pizza a few times and our favorite has been the meaty pizza. I've had a number of appetizers. My least favorite was shotgun shrimp, and that's only because I'm not a fan of spicy food. I've been here on busy nights and I've never to wait. Anytime there's a wait, I usually head into the "garage" and find seating either at the bar or one of the tables. It's a great place to go, and I highly recommend it! read more

We had the onion rings for starters and they were darn good. He had the kids cheese pizza which is his typical fare. He really enjoyed it.
