We actually really loved this place. We each had a super classy dog, hold the sauerkraut. The hot dogs are kinda pricey, but they are huge! Definitely order just one. We split a side of fries and each had water and our meal came to just under $20. They charge .50 for each water cup which is pretty odd. But it is what it is. The ordering process takes way too long for how limited the menu is. There is plenty of seating around the large countertop as well as a lot of tables in the back. The staff will call your name and deliver the order once it's ready. I took some issue with the fact that nobody preparing the food was wearing gloves. One lady was handling tickets, assisting another staff member with the register, opening hot dog bun packaging, then would go over and place buns on the grill bare handed. Just an fyi for my fellow germ a phobes out there. The hot does are not the star of the show, but rather the toppings. The hot dogs themselves are boiled and pulled out of a steam tray when ordered. The chili we got on top was awesome though, as were the massive sourdough buns. The burgers are perhaps the way to go here, since you can see the burgers being cooked right in front of you. This place does only a few things but does them to perfection !!! The owners were helping cook the food. Small place but definitely had that diner feel, and I had an even better feeling when I saw a local picking up his to-go order. One of the best fast cheeseburgers I've eaten, beer battered crisp and non greasy onion rings, a giant all beef hot dog that my husband loved. It was topped with chili cheese and a red relish that he thoroughly enjoyed. His fries were crunchy and hot...traditional French fries. Huge servings. One person won't be able to finish the rings or fries! We wished we could have gotten the delicious looking milkshAkes we watched being served but we were just too full. This was a pretty bad experience for my husband and I. There were probably eight tables waiting on food when we walked in, our order was taken quickly but waited an HOUR to get our over-cooked burgers. I would expect a wait like that if they were lined up out the door but this was NOT the case. I do not recommend going unless you call ahead and like a well, well done hamburger. This hole in the wall burger joint almost gives the outside appeal of a sit down and relax restaurant but the pace inside is a rush of adrenaline that makes your eating experience even better. Good food, even amongst the busy rush the employees still took time to ask us about our food, and even make some small talk whilst juggling the register, the grill, and cleaning. I wouldn't go back to this place if you paid me. Simply ordered 2 cups of coffee and the old lady that took my order was rude from the get go. When the 1st cup come out she gave me 2 dollar back and said their coffee machine was broken so I could only get one cup. When I said the 1st cup tasted funny she gave me another 2 dollars back very rudely and told me I don't know what fresh coffee tastes like. So for no coffee and a rude time I paid 50 cents. The burgers were really really good. Very pleased with those. The "cheese fries" we're literally French fries with about a quarter cup of shredded cheese dumped on top. Not even melted. They were relatively bland. Onion rings were ok. Not bad but not super flavorful. The burgers are the real winner. I'd go back for that but not the sides. read more

This place was recommended by one of the stores down the street. There were six of us so we sat at the counter. Food was ok, not great but nothing to get excited about either but the older lady cooking really ruined whatever atmosphere this place could have had. She was so foul tempered and appeared to hate her job. The young kids that were taking orders appeared to be wary of her. We decided to try this place because of the counter service and Nathan's Hot dog sign we saw after leaving our usual go to because of the wait. It was close to the closing time but they accommodated our party of 10 at the counter (which was a lot of fun) and we ordered quickly. The place is small but super efficient so we had our food coming out fast. The chili cheese fries were awesome and everyone loved the burgers! Shakes with Blue Bell Ice cream were made perfect! We found the portions to be great! The fries easily feed 2 people as well as the onion rings. The burger patties are fresh and cooked on a flat grill right at the counter. Feeding a party of 10 can be hard but these guys handled us all like the seasoned pros they were! We are so glad to have BubbaLu's as a new favorite for our trips to Hot Springs! read more
