My daughters and I went to BubbaLu's on 7.21.2025 mostly because it was the nearest place for a restroom for my oldest... She'd probably kill me if she was on Yelp, but she's not and this is funny now... We were in the middle of shopping at a nearby boutique when she ran up to me with this super ultra mean mad pre-teen attitude because she needed to go to the restroom really bad. Of course the boutique did not have a public restroom then she got frantic and pissy so I hollered at her sister "Hey, we gotta go. We'll come back." We rush into BubbaLu's where a very friendly cashier welcomes us. My pain in the rear oldest heads straight to the lone restroom which was luckily available. I felt like I finally took a breath in that moment. Lol. My other daughter and I hop in line which was to the door. I snap a photo of menu. Text it to the restroom kid and ask if she's okay and to choose something for lunch. After receiving a ton of thank you-like emojis from her I get an answer and we finally get to order. It was high stress - because I really felt bad for my kiddo - but it was funny and lucky all at once. This was unexpectedly a cool place with family photos and other memorabilia on the walls. As we walked in a patron made a point of stopping before he walked out to tell the staff that they served him the best burger he'd had in a LONG time! Good intro! Initially we hesitated to go in cuz we had our dog with us but the hostess made a point of reaching out to us to tell us they are dog friendly! Awesome! They even gave us a container filled with water for the dog. We ordered two classy dogs (no pun!). The hot dogs are big and beefy and cooked perfectly. Mine had sauerkraut which is homemade and very mild. All ingredients added to the dog were lightly grilled. The French fries come unsalted...they are plenty flavorful on their own....but salt is at the counter/table as are ketchup and mustard. The fries were thin and perfectly crispy! First of all, the pricing was great. Huge portions for the price. The fries were large and more than enough for the two of us. Everything came out hot. It was clean in the restaurant and right on Bathhouse Row (across the street) making it a very convenient option. We stopped here for lunch after hiking and I LOVED this place. It is counter service so you order then take your seat. It is a very no fuss diner but I found the service and quick food to be awesome. The service staff were LOVELY! They were very friendly and attentive. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and joking with the staff. Our food arrived fast and was very tasty. My husband and I stopped into BubbaLu's for a late lunch after a long hike in Hot Springs. We stumbled upon this restaurant while walking down Bath House Row and noticed it was packed! We thought it must be good, so let's give it a try! While standing in line, I noticed there was not a single empty seat that we would be able to sit and eat and the line was getting longer and longer. The line was outside the door and on the sidewalk at one point. We finally get to order and as we are waiting for our food, we are eyeing the seating situation. Two people at the bar decide to leave and another two people immediately swoop into the empty chairs. We realized we may have to be a little pushy if we want to sit and eat. I noticed a family getting ready to leave so I basically stand right behind them and wait for them to leave. We finally sit down and are still waiting for our food. The family next to us who ordered after us gets their food first. At this point I'm a little frustrated. It's crowded, loud, cramped, and the service is slow. I just want to eat and leave. We get our food and eat it faster than how long it took to get to us. The food is delicious and the prices are cheap and right. Texas is lousy with good burger joints and this family owned restaurant on the bathhouse row in Hot Springs is a treasure. I was fortunate enough to order the onion rings. My double meat bacon burger was almost too much because I was not going to leave an onion ring on my tray. I was a good little boy and cleaned my plate. The grill is in the open front and center. Mom and pop were working the counter when we were there just before Thanksgiving. I missed the HS annual Chili cook off but didn't miss out on a really great burger. read more

Ginger cooks them up with lightning speed and her magic touch, serving them with the freshest hand-chopped veggies. Add a side of the best fries in town and top it off with a hand-dipped Bluebell ice cream shake.
