Bubba Gump at the airport was a nice taste of home. A decent glass of wine and nice large water bottles for our flight were so comforting. I was so happy to have a hearty box of salad to give me a clean feeling of eating fresh foods. My son loved what he ordered and actually ate it which made me super happy! Aww, Bubba Gump's Shrimp Company... We had one on Maui but it sadly closed years ago. While the menu isn't as copious as it used to be, this was the only roomy sit down restaurant near gate 7 at PVR. ATMOSPHERE: Seating was quite plentiful and spacious for luggage-in-tow. The decor brought back fun memories we had at the oceanfront Lahaina location. MENU: Sad to report that the Bucket O Boat Trash isn't here either (if anywhere). But they did have shrimp in numerous preparations, burgers, sandwiches, ribs, poultry, ribs, dessert and drinks. FOOD: Old Fashioned New England Clam Chowder (bowl) The bowl had good circumference but wasn't very deep. The soup was creamy, perfectly seasoned, with a good amount of clams, potatoes and onions. Oyster crackers provided for the perfect topping and texture. The spouse enjoyed and devoured his All American Cheeseburger with seasoned fries. SERVICE: Host greeting was immediate and friendly. Actually not a bad place for being inside the airport. we've been there twice now, first time in 2020 & then now 5 years later in 2025. Price is as expected since it IS in the airport, but i was actually surprised by the service. They are on top of things & are always constantly checking if you need water or anything else for your group. The shrimp is also very fresh since they are located in Puerto Vallarta, which is right by the sea so you are guaranteed fresh. Compared to the Bubba Gumps in the US which you do not get fresh seafood like you do here. Drinks were strong which you would like before getting on the plane to take away some of the nerves. Highly recommend to stop here if you're in the PVR airport. read more

It's a given what to expect with the food here. Some people love it, some dislike it. There's not much sit down dining restaurants at this terminal so it was slim pickings. I normally juts pop in while waiting for the flights and have a beer. Well, nothing new. A beer and a snack. The cheese fries, simple and easy. It was ok, nothing major to rave about. If you know this chain restaurant, it's full of the movie memorabilia, pictures and quotes. Don't get me wrong, people love it as it's a symbolic movie. It's whatever, a good fast place for a drink while waiting. Staff were all really friendly at this location. Menu, I'm not sure if they're all the same nationwide. I had delicious grilled shrimp tacos. We also enjoyed a double margarita, which was tasty. The service was on point, and we appreciated having a quiet place to enjoy a preflight drink. It was fine! Quick service because it was dead. Typical expensive airport food. 2 bottled waters (one to share, one to take onto the plane) + 1 fish and chips = $50USD + 20% tip. Fish and chips were cooked perfectly and not greasy. Fries had paprika seasoning and were old fashioned style. Water was Evian. Sitting in an airport so not air conditioning and they have their own music blasting away so you feel separated from the rest of the airport. It's a nice break from the chaos. Chicken strips seem hand breaded and were very tasty and the fries are hand cut. Drinks came fast. With 2.5 hours to kill before boarding a flight and with a bit of hunger pangs kinda kickin' it, Hubbers and I decided to get in one more meal. There were other choices, but this topped our list because we wanted to dine in (rather than getting food and taking it back to our seats at the gates.) Plus our palates kinda directed us here, so... We got on the waitlist and were told a 30 minute wait (which was weird because there were plenty of open tables.) No biggie, we had the time... But the wait wasn't even close to that half hour. We got seated just a little over 10 minutes later, so... yay! It didn't take long before Hubbers and I decided what we wanted. LAVA FLOW: A great starter before the starter. Great way to cleanse the palate before indulging in grub. RUN ACROSS AMERICA SAMPLER: Everything fried and had a lotta parts to it. Tortilla chips were what they were. Nothing to get excited about. Fried shrimp and hush puppies were between good and great, they weren't bad. Chicken tenders were booboo, though. They were fried much too tough and just became inedible. Even a simple bite was a struggle. I managed to find some parts soft enough, but most of it was just... nope. SHRIMP PO'BOY: They were generous with the amount of shrimp they put in this. It was also kept as simple as possible, so the main star really was the shrimp. The bun was soft but held the insides well. Mayo was light and the veggies were fresh. I liked it. FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH: Hubbers' struggled between this and the ribs, but since ribs weren't available, he was happy to get this. I got to try a small bite and liked it. He, on the other hand, liked it enough to eat it all. So, yeah. Great choice. FOOD: 5. SERVICE: 4. It was sorta a challenge trying to get staff to tend to us in the beginning (not having the RUN FORREST RUN and STOP FORREST STOP signs might have been an issue.) But once we got our server's attention (I believe his name is Daniel) it was smooth sailing from there. VALUE: 3. Average at best. Pretty comparable to what we pay in the states. OVERALL: 4. It was sorta a good comeback from the last meal we had at the marina (that one was yuck.) Granted it was more American, the meal was still a saving grace of some sort. But still: a good run at that. Only when we received our bill was the price of the water disclosed. 115 pesos. Over 8 dollars Canadian. We always eat here on our way home from puerto Vallarta. Food is good. Prices have sky rocketed. $9.20 for a can of Diet Coke with no refills. Unsweetened tea with refills is $14.60. Bubba would not be happy with people getting ripped off! read more

Like most Bubba gumps we've been at this one is a bit smaller since its inside the small Vallarta airport. Staff was friendly and prompt at seating and service. They were busy yet got us our drinks quick and were very accommodating. We have visited this Bubba Gump location many times over the years. The food is decent. However, the servers push hard to have you select a high-priced specialty beverage's without telling you the cost upfront. $213 pesos per drink. The have the gall to charge you $19 pesos for extra sauce when you are paying $50 per meal. We paid $95 pesos in upcharges for SAUCE. $171 ($2900 pesos) was our bill. After a 20% Tip the bill topped $218 ($3400 pesos) We know this location isn't the cheapest, but this was our highest meal of the whole vacation. WE WILL NOT BE STOPPING BY ANYMORE!!! KFC or Sbbaro's it is. VERY DISAPOINTED. read more

It was salty and greasy. I got the cajun shrimp and it came with two garlic bread. I don't know why they'll give greasy butter and pepper marinated shrimp with more garlic and butter smothered bread. Solid spot for a solid meal in PVR. There aren't a ton of sit down options in this airport, so we definitely scored when we spotted Bubba Gump's. I was one of the first 2 people in my group to arrive and request a table (for 6 people in total). The hostess let us know that there was a table ready for us now and we could be seated even though our entire party wasn't there yet. Pretty sweet in my opinion. This is something that would never happen in an NYC establishment. I've never been to a Bubba Gump's before, but I imagine the menu here matches the menu in the US. It was exactly what you'd expect - burgers, fries, onion rings, fried shrimp, etc etc etc. Nothing spectacular, but prob the best option in this airport if you want to sit down and have a proper meal and/or drink. Great atmosphere. It does take at least 30 minutes to get your food and about 15 minutes to get your drinks so only go in the restaurant if you have enough time before boarding your plane. Okay I know it's a bubba Gump we are talking about, and one in an airport at that... BUT it was delicious, the service was great, and I can honestly say compared to all other airport food I've had this stands apart. I got the chicken sandwich with the chili aioli. The chicken was juicy, crispy and the sauce was spectacular. I added avocado because why not and the avocado was super fresh and delicious. My husband got the chicken tenders and fries and enjoyed his meal as well. The ambiance was nice too, made me forget for a bit that I was in a very busy airport. It's no gourmet restaurant, there's nothing artisanal going on here but if you want a solid meal before your flight that tastes fresh and as expected Bubba Gump is a great spot. read more

I ordered the calamari and the yin yang salad--the calamari was cooked well but proportionately there were too many peppers. Lotsa fast food choices at PVR airport; not as many sit down options. Wasn't looking forward to eating here but it was nearest sit-down to our departing gate and we had lotsa time to kill. I was pleasantly surprised at how good our food was. We ordered the appetizer sampler (can't recall name), fish tacos, a side of fries, draft beers and Coke. Service was done right. My only 'gripe' is the big, metal signs on our tiny table that you have to flip up and down for service. We were seated in one of those tiny booths for 2 per, table loaded with food and drinks so trying to change that sign means moving stuff around to avoid spillage. #115 Okay, they have a Bubba Gump in the Bay Area but this one is a little different. It is not on Pier 39, and it is not necessarily a "tourist trap." It is located in the airport in Mexico. They sing a song to who ever buys a Margarita. I have been too hung over to eat, so I can only review the service and the cocktails. Yes, best hang over cure is another cocktail--I learned that in NOLA. Anyhow, our server was exceptional. We needed wifi and got a password, got stellar drinks to start and some amazing looking food (I will try and take pics of my friend's food).
