Mehhh!!! Considering that home (Southern California) has plenty of good Caribbean/Jamaican food places to choose from, this place did not hit! My honey found this place online while visiting Tampa. Eight of us got there to find out it is take-out only. How disappointing! We walked into the small hole in the wall, only to be treated like 2nd class citizens by the guy taking orders. He was NOT friendly at all! No greeting, no explanation of menu items, nothing. We should've taken that as a clue and bounced. As for food, plates are plentiful. My curry chicken was tender with lots of gravy. I wished it had potatoes and carrots as I like at home so that sucked. Rice and peas were soft. Cabbage was well seasoned, but the portion was small. When I asked the guy what side options I could choose from, he told me the plate included macaroni and cheese (super nasty attitude). After that unpleasantry, they had the audacity to leave the mac & cheese off of my plate. Additional cabbage would've been nice, at least! Others enjoyed the oxtails, jerk chicken, and wings. Everyone's mac & cheese looked stale and hard and all of them said it was awful. The plates included cornbread which I do not eat. Another bummer: no plantain or festival bread, my 2 fav's. I don't know what time of Jamaican food is in Tampa, but it is hands down subpar compared to what I'm used to at home. This place also needs a full gut job b:c it looks like the health dept will shut it down at any moment. lol read more

Went to Bee's Island Kitchen for the first time with my sister tonight. They were about to close in half an hour and only had Curry Goat and Curry Chicken. LET ME TELL YALL!!!!! This tenderness of the goat had me and my sister speechless. The flavor in EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF FOOD from the goat to the Mac and cheese to the rice to the cabbage to the corn bread. We will DEFINITELY be back as regulars. 100/10 recommend this place. read more

B's Island Kitchen - Curry Goat, rice and peas, Mac and cheese, and cabbage - Caribbean Near Me - Tampa, Florida

The service was awesome! I had the brown stew chicken with mac & cheese, rice and peas, and collard greens. Huge portions and everything was tasty. The spicy beef patty was on point too. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Tampa. Good food all around! read more

I've been on the hunt for some really authentic Jamaican food here in Tampa. I stumbled upon B's and decided to give it a try. I got a large jerk chicken plate and it came with rice and peas, cabbage, mac and cheese, and corn bread. I also got a lemonade to drink. The jerk chicken was good and it was hot (spicy) but not in a bad way. Jamaican Mac and cheese will be Jamaican Mac and cheese but this is definitely some of the better that I've had! Cabbage and corn bread were great too. The service was pretty good and straight forward, definitely a pleasant experience especially from the owner of the barbershop next door. Looks can be deceiving, this hole in the wall spot was very good and I'm looking forward to trying other items on the menu. read more

Khall to place an order and they did not sound like he felt like doing anything let alone serving some food or cooking.

Bees Island kitchen is literally up the street from me so I frequent the spot probably 2 to 3 times a week for their lunch special which is very popular. You can't beat the price for jerk chicken curry, chicken or brown stew chicken lunch meals. The portions are fairly decent and it's been a east Tampa Caribbean staple for years read more

THE AMOUNT OF FOOD IS NEVER ENDING! Each meal were $24 a box and I was kinda skeptical at the price but let me tell you! It's soo much food!! The meals come with cornbread, steamed cabbage, a large portion of Mac and cheese and on the bottom of all that meat is rice and peas. It's 100% worth the price! The location is a definite pick up so don't expect any seating. Most people I saw were just ordering at the window and the food would come out in about 5 minutes. I thoroughly enjoyed my meals and will come by whenever I'm in the area. read more

This place is a great example of "looks can be deceiving" because while the store might not be in the best area, the food is some of the best in town. I have been looking for some good jerk chicken in Tampa since I moved here and this place definitely made my list. It's clean, the owner is friendly, the food is hot and delicious, the portions are large, and it's clean! The more I eat at smaller establishments like this, the more I realize that cleanliness is hard to come by. For me, the jerk chicken was just a littleeee too salty. It does not taste salty at all, but my ears were definitely ringing a little bit after I ate it. That should not deter you at all. He gave me a ridiculous amount of food. The platter came with mac and cheese, rice, cornbread, and collard greens? I think. I wish the chicken had a little more of a char flavor on it, but it was amazing. Honestly, all of the food was just amazing and I could eat it all day. Make sure to ask for the scotch bonnet hot sauce to put on it before you leave if you like spicy food too. I also got one of the cakes he had, which I was not a massive fan of. The two options were pound cake and carrot cake, and I picked the pound cake. It was dry and kinda boring, but he doesn't make the cake himself I don't think. If I were you and wanted jerk chicken, I would come here. Repeatedly. I know I definitely will Food: 4/5 Location: 3/5 Ambiance: 4/5 (Weird but I love it) Service: 5/5 read more

This is a literally what you call "A hole in the wall". I was recommended to try here from my father in law and I honestly think that was the best advice he has given me. It's one of those "don't judge a book by its cover" restaurants, that can only occupy 3 people, with a relatively limited menu, in a strip plaza next to a bunch of hair salons/barbershops. But Boy o Boy, the food is delicious, my fave oxtail and jerk in the Tampa Bay Area. The food is plentiful and flavorful! I can make 3 meals from one box. The price is reasonable as well. Only problem that makes me snatch a star away is the lack of customer service. Thank God I'm from the Caribbean so I can handle it but they really need to do better when answering the phone and talking to customers. I literally asked over the phone what exactly the large meal includes and I was told "everything" Ummmm ok... Needless to say, I enjoy the food and I will continue to support the small business for now. read more

B's Caribbean food is love by local. They only have one table. This is a take out place have a lot of customers. During my visit, at least 4 customers ahead me with multiple orders. You can see the popularity of local. They jerk chicken and some traditional Caribbean dish like Ackee with salty fish. The selection includes large or small portion. I got their popular dish. The oxtail. The marinated sauce went into the bone. The meat is soft but have not fall off the bone yet. I prefer fall off the bone cooking. My dish come with good bean rice and braise cabbage. Both side are great. The wait for the food is not bad. I got my food 15 minutes after order. It is considered fast with so many order ahead of me. Parking is free with lot in front of plaza. read more

The wife found this while looking for a nice new place to try. A bit of a drive from where we live but I'd say it was worth it. I got the large curry chicken which comes with rice and beans and cabbage along with Mac and cheese. If y'all read my reviews I take my Mac n cheese seriously! That being said it was a solid 7.5/10. The cabbage was the star of the show tho. Chicken was pretty good but not the best I've had. I'll leave pics below! read more

This place is so good. I've always passed by the plaza for years! We've wanted Jamaican food for a few days and we were back home and the place we usually visit was closed. We came back home and I asked my friend about a Jamaican spot instead of our usual and she pointed us here. Let's say she pointed us the best direction. It was soo good, like I could believe it's been here this whole time. The amount of food you get for the price you pay is ‼. I'll be back many many many times. The food was great, it reminded me of my mom's great friend's Jamaican food. AUTHENTIC JAMAICAN FOOD!!!! read more

I discovered this place about 6 years ago and fell in love with it. The owner is this older Bob Marley looking character. He is a really nice dude, I don't know his name but I always address him as Ras. Well a few years ago he hired help and that help is still here. That help is his 1 star. No personable attitude at all. He acts as if your bothering him and he could care less about any of the customers. I only order one thing, even though the food is good, I am addicted too the Mac and cheese. Well I stopped by today after not coming all of 2018, and he is still as miserable as he was back in early 2017. I'm just not coming back. The food isn't worth the obvious disdain he has for customers. MAN respect the people coming through the door, if not for them at least for yourself. Make the customer feel welcomed, no matter if they spend 3 bucks or $130!!!! read more

I am usually not a soup person, but the chicken soup has become my favorite thing to eat now. There chicken soup is absolutely delicious!!!! I had that along with some chicken, oxtail and rice and this will be the only place I will be coming to for oxtail! I recommend this place to everyone. I have a 2- and 3-year-old who are very picky what they eat but they loved the food and I will be getting more food from there for now on for them and of course me, may even order 2 or of the chicken soup read more

One of the best in Tampa! This is a must have spot for me. Very good curry chicken, moist authentic Jamaican rice and large portions.

I was just referred to this place by some Jamaican friends from USF. Had Jerk Chicken , Ox Tail, Rice and Peas, Cabbage, and Mac & Cheese. Delicious and Amazing. Hands down the best Jamaican food in Tampa Bay. And according to the Jamaicans, this is better than some of the Pan Chicken you find in Jamaica. Sides were excellent too. read more

First off, this is a place to pick up food only. And dam do they have the best I tasted on this side of country and I'm a Cali Guy.

I'm extremely disappointed at the experience I had today. The food was extremely salty and the rice and beans were not done! I drove all the way from Riverview for some foolishness --I'll stick with Dunn's River. Customer service was horrible; the guy taking/serving food was not personable. I called and placed my order over the phone and still waited at least 20 min to be served; my food was not prepared upon arrival. Also, the plate the food came in did not come with the pieces necessary to close the plate --I WILL NOT be back! read more
