First off Yelp needs to change the name to Stormy's. It has a new owner. That said the service and the food was very good. Prices were very reasonable for the large portions. Maybe seating for 50 or so? Could get crowded depending on when you go. We will stop by here again. read more

I stopped by here around noon after seeing good reviews online. It's now called Stormy's Diner. I seated myself at an open table and the waitress recommended the B's scramble for breakfast or a hoagie or club if I was having lunch. I went with the club and it was fantastic. The whole menu is geared towards down home comfort food. Clean rustic atmosphere with flat top tables. Prompt friendly service. Competitive prices. I was impressed that they had clover and Apple Pay. Watch the hours though because they frequently close at 2pm. I would definitely return when I'm in the area. read more

The homestyle chicken noodle soup is delicious and the side salad has many toppings. The cod fish n chips was mushy fish that tasted previously frozen. It came with a tasty coleslaw. The walleye used to be good and tasted pan fried but is now dry and deep fried. read more

A good family owned restaurant that still keeps its menu filled with real, homemade food. Burgers are great! The Haystack aka Breakfast Burger because it comes with a fried egg and is great when you miss breakfast. TheIr Mushroom Swiss is a great rendition of an American classic. Nice people. Great little local diner. Food was very good. We both had a burger with fries and a slice of pie for just over $10 each. Not the best burger I ever had but for the price you pay it was very tasty. This was a cute little diner with an emphasis on traditional home cooking. I saw the waitress swat a customer with a menu, and I can tell this place is a favorite with locals, especially seniors. It was clean and neat, as was the restroom. Prices were very reasonable. My husband and I had lunch, including tip, for less than $12. He got a grilled cheese sandwich on puffy homemade wheat bread, and I had their surprisingly good salad bar. The salad bar had many of the usual things on it, but they were good quality. For instance, I could tell the potato salad was made in house and not bought from a big food service company. They had big slices of homemade farm bread with butter & delicious homemade bread pudding on the salad bar as well. Sadly, aside from grilled cheese or a salad, there weren't a lot of vegetarian options. Still, if that's not an issue and you like home cooking, this place is worth a visit. read more

Adequate, yes that's the word. The Reuben was adequate. The fries were the best part of the platter. Was a bit disturbed to the server sweeping while serving. Never observed a hand wash break. Might give another try on a later date. The building is NOT handicapped accessible. read more

DON'T EAT HERE! After watching my girlfriend get served her pea soup I asked where my chili was? The waitress explains that they were have difficulty thawing it out. (it was on their soup of the day list?) I told her to skip the chili. Oh well, at least my panini was coming. But after watching other guest get served their meals again I ask the status of my order. (The explanation was "it's easier to make the other orders?)After a more waiting my sandwich arrives only to bite into a big chunch of what appears to be clear plastic fork? I used to love going there and ordering an omelet and hash browns since the new ownership omelets are small hash browns you hardly get any I went in and ordered that one day with double hash browns when it came I barely had a single order of hash browns don't go eat there because they rip you off on food size the only time I go there is when they have the breakfast bar and then some things aren't even hot the new owners messed up a really good restaurant so I don't recommend this place at all to anybody read more

This used to be our go-to place in Au Gres. Either they are having financial trouble or they hired terrible help in the kitchen. The Saturday night buffet has been discontinued due to off-season traffic, (we went in mid-October) so we ordered sandwiches off the menu. I ordered a turkey-roasted red pepper-pesto panini for $9.95. My girlfriend ordered a club sandwich for $8.95. My panini had two and a half little thin slices of turkey on it. The pieces were about half of my palm in size and not even 1/8" thick. Opening the sandwich the single thickness turkey did not even cover half the bread. I seriously doublt that my panini had over one ounce of meat on it. There were a few traces of red pepper chunks and perhaps 1/4 tsp of pesto. It was essentially a mayo and tomato slice sandwich with traces of turkey. It was a terrible value, so I sent it back. I would have asked for it to be remade but there was very a loud argument going on in the kitchen with a male voice shouting at a female voice. I did not think that whatever coming back out after sending it back would be a good thing. My girlfriend's club sandwich was not any better. Single very thin slices of the meat that were thinner than the cheese. Again it was a bread and mayo sandwich with content appearing to be made during a period of rationing. We may return in the summer when they have a buffet, but the menu items are a terrible value. read more
