Very knowledgeable staff. They always seem to have what I want. And if you like fine knives they certainly have a great selection.

They had what I needed, and I called multiple stores and they were very helpful. I traveled 30 minutes to get it.

I love this local ACE and it's staff. But I HATE THAT THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS ENOUGH TO REQUIRE EMPLOYEES WEAR MASK TO PROTECT THEIR CUSTOMERS! Most of the customers are wearing their masks; which protect others more than themselves! Also in the store the showroom is Very Crowded together with their shopping displays, narrow walkways where there can be NO SOCIAL DISTANCING! I'm very disappointed and will consider shopping outside of my local town when I can. Please consider those of us who follow the science. read more

Alabama guy here. Hands down best ace hardware anywhere in the south. I normally don't like saying anything about Florida being the best at anything but this store is the best at what they are in my opinion. I'm a service tech for the mobile home industry and I've seen my share of hardware stores. They have more than hardware. Very nice and loved the knife's very large selection. and many more goodie's. The last time I had been to this location it was a supermarket. I recently moved back to the area, and was checking out some of the hardware stores I stopped by to check out the garden section and browsed through the aisles of the store, it was well stocked. The staff was attentive as I am used to when I go to an Ace Hardware, even when it was crowded on the day that I went. I was asked if there was anything that I needed. While I did not need any specific help I could hear the staff making recommendations to other shoppers. All and all I will be back as I will be back. read more

They have almost everything you need. From hardware to plants to grills and more. The employees really work hard and don't get enough credit

I moved to Keystone Heights in fall 2016; I'm not used to going to a hardware store to buy things that I normally get at Home Depot or Walmart, but there is a convenience factor involved with not having to travel to Jacksonville or Starke. I've found the staff to be compartmentalized in their expertise; for example, KG (you can ask for him by name) knows more about pool chemistry than most of the pool services that you can hire - they do free pool water testing, and while they do sell chemicals there, no one has ever tried pushing them off on me, which is what keeps me out of Pinch a Penny. Chlorine is comparably priced to elsewhere, and while nuts and bolts cost a bit more than buying in Bulk at Lowes, there's the convenience factor. Kelly and Stephanie in the garden department know their business, have helped me try turning my yard (which is literally 5 acres of Sand spurs) into something with a chance of not hurting my miniature schnauzers when they're wandering around outside, and *unlike* Home Depot, there is always someone who can show me exactly where to find what I need when I come into the store. I'm not sure why Yelp has buried the positive reviews for this Ace Hardware in favor of showing a lone one-star review, but it's an unwarranted disservice. read more

I hate to say anything negative about your store because I love going there so much. You always seam to have what we need no matter how odd or small the item...plenty of helpful employs on the floor and in the garden section to assist and just a pleasant experience. However, the one place that you are lacking is the most important to me and that is your greenhouse selections. Over the years I find real gems in the greenhouse but lately you only have just plain uninteresting selections. I am really surprised by the negative comments concerning the employees at Ace Hardware. Employees do not "stalk" customers. They are trained to seek out customers and assist them with their problem-solving. They want to be sure that you have been offered assistance. As for the "military" issue, several of the employees are either prior service or retired military. I really don't think store management has a problem with military customers. Why would they? Upper management and floor management are prior service. We live in a world of trolls. Business and people seem to need to slam each other sometimes to create discontent. I'm sure if someone felt they were not receiving the courtesy and service they deserved and brought it to store management's attention, it would be addressed on the spot. read more

Keystone Ace is the worst place to shop. Overated. The good manager Kelly was replaced. And now They have a new District Manager Mr. Ray. The store is awful now .. The Store Managers Mandy is an arrogant rude woman, and the other Manager Bruce is a total jerk. There employee's are even worse. One in particular who Lies to customers all the time...."STEVE". I've shopped there 9 years. And this is the worst bunch of non caring, arrogant mean staff to Customers I've ever seen. Very over priced! They follow people around like you have bacon in your pocket. I got ask 7 times in 10 minutes by 7 different employee's if we needed help. You couldn't even have a good shopping experience, because there so called caring for customers, felt more like stalking. We've spent thousands of dollars there. And when you want to return something! Look out! They make you feel like a piece of crap. Don't shop there. Boycotting Ace Hardware in Keystone Heights. All in all, this is a good hardware store. Lot's of odds and ends and less common items, stuff you wouldn't find at Lowes or Home Depot. Overall cost is a bit higher than larger stores, but if you're local you can factor in the cost of time and travel. If you're not local it'd make a nice destination for a Sunday drive. This hardware store is also a gift shop and a pet store, so if you're in the market for a new toilet lever and want to pick up an ornate incense burner, stuffed animal, jewelry box, etc., you can also do that while you're here. Want to pick up a bunny, budgie, gerbil, exotic snake or tropical fish while you're at it? You can do that here too. The kids love to go and look at all the pets, they have a good selection of supplies too. They have a pretty large garden selection which I haven't really looked into yet, because it seems like it would take a year to fully utilize every aspect of this store! All in all there's something for everyone at this Bryan's Ace Hardware store. read more

This is the worst Ace Hardware that I have ever visited! I'm relatively new to the area, and I have already had several customer service issues with this particular Ace. The first was when I was waiting for my paint to be mixed. All of the other customers were being asked by the attendants if they needed help except me. I was wearing my military camos...and I was shocked! So this is how you treat a veteran! So when I was finally served, I gave the color to the attendant and she said, "I can mix that color for you but I can't guarantee the color!?". WTF! So I asked, " Would it be darker or lighter?". She said, "I can't say until we mix it!?". Then I asked her, " Could you adjust the color after it is mixed? Her response was, "No...we have to follow the formula!" That's very interesting because the last time I bought paint at Walmart, they told me that they could "match any color!" The next experience was at the key counter. I approached the counter with my keys in hand. The clerk that was there didn't acknowledge me in any way! He didn't even look at me! So I stood there and waited patiently. After two minutes or so I decided that I had had enough. I left. Then when I was about 40 feet away I noticed another staff member go up to the key counter. He then approached me and asked, "Did you want something at the key counter?". I replied," Yes...I did...past tense... I don't anymore!". I then took my business elsewhere. The last straw was when I purchased several plants. All did well except one. I returned it with the receipt. I can see how they handle complaints now. They asked me to step aside in an attempt to prevent any other customers from hearing what was going on. The Manger of the plant department came over and said, without even looking at my receipt, "There is no warranty for plants." I then asked to speak with the store manager. Bruce came over...didn't even look at my receipt...and told me that "there is no warranty on plants!". I explained that I am a regular customer...that I even purchased my last lawn mower there.". He just reiterated what he had said previously. I asked for the name of the district manager and he said," There is no ditrict manager...I'm one of the owners.". I told him that I intended to write an unsatisfactory review on the internet and he said, " Go ahead!". He then proceeded to follow me to the door...murmuring under his breath, "don't come back". He thought that I wouldn't hear him, but during my military physical the doctor told me that I could "hear better than (I) could see!". The staff here apparently acquired their poor customer service skills from their rude boss! There is another hardware store the same distance from my house. Guess which one I will be using in the future. I'm even seriously considering the idea of returning my new lawn mower...it's still in the box!
