He and his staff went above and beyond by recommending personal friends in another state for her to continue care should she have more issues. However, I disagreed with the treatment plan they proposed. Since Aspen Dental was the only provider that accepted my insurance, I decided to seek treatment at their Niceville location. The treatment plan in Niceville was more reasonable. My responsibility was $4,196.25, which I paid at that time. On December 2, I underwent the extraction of all my teeth and was provided with a set of healing dentures. Unfortunately, they did not fit properly and caused numerous oral sores, necessitating the removal of the lower denture due to excessive pain. I have been unable to wear the lower dentures since December. Eating has become a challenging experience. My diet consists primarily of soup for several months. I have lost interest in many of my favorite foods. I have refrained from dining out, as it is an embarrassing and humiliating experience. Additionally, I now speak with a lisp. I underwent three adjustments, but the night before my fourth adjustment, I received a call canceling my appointment. When I inquired about the reason, I was informed that they could not treat me until I paid my balance. I was surprised to learn that I still owed $5,420.23. I do not have the funds to pay this balance and have charged the $4,200 + that I had already paid. Since December 2, I have been unable to eat a normal meal. I requested a refund, but it was denied by Randall, the office manager. I am concerned about the breach of their peace of mind promise and money-back guarantee. I had received a clear and detailed treatment plan in writing, ensuring that I was fully informed of the financial implications. I had also discovered several online groups, such as "Stop Aspen Dental" and "Aspen Dental True Stories," where I found numerous similar experiences, some even more severe, across the United States. This situation raises concerns about bait-and-switch tactics, deception, and predatory practices. The embarrassment and humiliation I have experienced, even around my husband, are overwhelming. I have completely ceased socializing and dining out. I respectfully requested a refund So I could seek dental care elsewhere and regain my quality of life. Much more than other…read moredental work I have had done, and I have had substantial amount of dental work Besides the pain, Dr. Scheuffler decided to do ( at the last minute) a 3rd prepartion for a dental implant , which my own dentist was going to complete. My dentist, who also does total implants , felt only 2 were necessary. This decision was made at last minute. He called my dentist and he went along with this decision. Obviously I was charged additonal monies for this work . But what was really upsetting was that Dr. Scheuffler did not feel it was necessary to tell me that my other dentist would also be charging me an additonal substantial amount of money. If I had known that his decision would end up costing me over $ 3000.00, I would have just gone with the two and had a larger bridge put in( as I had an even larger bridger previously that lasted 20 years!). Also, one of his women staffer was definitely not someone I would let deal with me again. Horrible person. Make sure that the entire cost of any procedure is written up , not only for his work, but they also need to advise you of possible other expenses. Well, they got their money and I ended up being stuck with a lot of (which I felt was not 100% necessary for the money involved). To say i was upset over this experience is putting it mildly. The temp. crown that dentist put on came off & he would neither call in an antibio or fit me in for an x-ray to determine if I could keep the tooth or have it removed. They had previously referred me to an endodontist, but it would be a month until I could get in. Dr. Scott's front desk staff made me an appt for 2 weeks but kept me on a cancellation list & called me the next day. His front desk staff is FANTASTIC, & DR. Dr. Heitzmann found an issue that needed surgery to correct and scheduled the surgery but then later his staff told me that he cancelled it. He never talked with me directly about it and instead had his staff contact me to state he had lost "trust" whatever that meant and that I needed to find someone else to do the surgery. He seemed very nervous about the surgery when I met with him so perhaps he didn't trust his skills and ability in fixing the issue. I can only guess since he didn't show me the courtesy of reaching out personally and instead had his staff do it for him, and they provided no further details. I had to go to another doctor and pay for another consultation but luckily I found a highly skilled surgeon in Miramar that was very confident and performed excellent work. I cannot recommend Dr. Heitzmann, as his lack of courtesy and respect for patients is evident. When seeking medical care, choose a surgeon who embodies confidence, compassion, and consideration - qualities that Dr. Heitzmann did not demonstrate.
