What a rip off went to the school and it wasn't even accredited what a waste of money

I applied for a course on line. Someone called me and we decided to text because I was at work. She asked how I would pay for my classes. She also told me they have financial aid. I told her I don't think I am qualified for financial aid and willing to make monthly payment. That was the last conversation we had. She never ask the reason why I don't think I am qualified. Well just to clear things up, I think I am making too much money at this time. If she said they need a payment upfront, I don't have a problem with that. But by not asking and suddenly disappear? I think Bryan got a wrong person to represent them. I feel sorry for people that wants to better themselves but couldn't because of representative like this person. She should have give me some options. read more

Do not enroll to this College!! Save your time and your money. I was a student for a Fitness Program they had in Los Angeles. Worst experience of my life. Worst instructors. I was an online court reporting student for over a year and a half after doing their theory for court reporting on campus. Their teaching philosophy (at least the instructor I had) was absolute crap compared to the school I am at now. They want you to pass real time tests before you can advance in speed, and their requirements to just be able to take tests are ridiculous. (You have to have transcript credit points, 8 per month, to be able to take a test. However, if you miss more than five errors on one that you turn in, you cannot correct it to get any points.) Real time is not required to be passed when you take the CSR. It seemed as if the only thing the faculty and the instructor was concerned about was making sure we had good attendance so that they were able to keep tapping into our financial aid. No matter how many complaints we had about the curriculum and our instructors teaching methods, they all fell on deaf ears. They had one instructor for 3 different speed levels which was crazy. The amount of live dictation that I got pales in comparison to what I get now at my new school. Bryan College is a business and they are totally into sucking out all of your financial aid. Then after you are tapped out, they point the finger at you as if it is your fault you weren't successful there when they never gave you the tools in the first place for that success! If there was an option to not give it any stars, I wouldn't!! Protect your college money and go somewhere else... Bryan College has a beautiful facility which houses a learning environment for massage therapists, physical therapists...and go figure, court reporters! I signed up to attend as a court reporter, not really realizing the hard work it entails to become one or even be prosperous after becoming certified. Because BC has had a long standing reputation from their LA branch, I assumed that things would be just as great here. I love the teachers and the staff is nice- its just that admin has a hard time figuring out an elbow from a bunghole. Processes aren't streamlined yet. There isn't much in our area as far as court reporting schools go and this school does offer REALTIME classes...so if you're going to come here, come with the knowledge that all you have is YOU to stay focused. It's a nice facility, they have the tools you need- you just have to be very proactive about getting your own supplies and administrative support after you've been sold on the idea of becoming a part of the BC student-crew. read more

This was a weird place to work. It was what I would call stressful. At times, it was even a bit hostile. Management was all over the place with experimental team building ideas. Raunchy jokes by management were tolerated...similar jokes by non-managers could mean the end of a job. Certain members of management are either still there or have been promoted...although they were not in it for the purpose of educating clients more than to look good--blowing their own horns...a whole lot of cocky bragging and blatant stupidity. I have not seen that kind of behavior from employees at real colleges or universities. Perhaps it is for the best that they are phasing everything into the Bryan University--a University of Phoenix wannabe. read more

I've been a student in their Court Reporting program since August 2013. I can say, with all honesty, this program is lackluster, at best. They seem to equate "online" to mean "hands-off." Their online methodology to teaching court reporting is completely hands-off. In addition, their teaching staff, educational advisers, and IT staff lack the teamwork necessary to run a successful program. Here's the kicker everyone: I have decided to transfer to the College of Court Reporting's online program, based on recommendations I got from previous Bryan students and a current instructor. In short, if Bryan wants to claim to be the leader in this industry -- they need to lead. For all your prospective students out there, please do your research. This program is very hard, costs a lot of money, and you don't want to waste any of it and your time. read more

I graduated from Bryan College in June of 2009. It wasn't always a great experience, but I believe the only way to go in this profession is through Bryan college, which gave me the education and knowledge to pass the NASM exam and receive my certifications as a Personal Trainer. I was hired at the Fitness center of my choice, even though the other trainers have years of experience. The education actually provides me with a better foundation for working with my clients. I find myself educating my clients in many different ways, and occasionally a trainer. Now, about the staff at Bryan College The people in the front office were always cheerful and helpful. The teaching assistants were mentors and friends. The Instructors for the most part are true professionals, giving hands-on knowledge of how to grow as a personal trainer The head director "Mr. B" takes it upon himself to make sure that we are not only personal trainers, but fully prepared to be successful in our career choice. Last, As one goes through life, there are certain people you will never forget for the impact they have on your life. Alicia is one of those people. Her breadth of knowledge, teaching style, humanity, sense of humor, and professionalism just can not be beat. After reseraching vocational schools that offer massage therapy programs, I've determined that Bryan College is completely overpriced and gives a lackluster education. While visiting the campus, I was impressed with their aesthetic appearance. But my opinion of the school quickly dwindled upon further observations. They are seriously lacking in professionalism. Their apparent lack of dress code for their workers and their students is sloppy. While sitting in their lobby I over heard students complaining about paying too much money and then attending classes where they receive photocopies instead of actual books. I had to wonder if what Bryan College is doing is even legal. I mean I think their massage therapy program is over $20,000 to complete and yet if they are making up their own curriculum and using copyrighted materials that they photocopy and then pass them on to students, I gotta wonder what their accredidation people would say about this? I followed some students outside and asked them about the school. One student told me that they would've quit the school except they only had a few months left to complete and they really wanted to earn their AA degree. Do NOT go to this college. I recently transferred to another college and wish I would have done it sooner. ADMISSIONS: The admissions office at Bryan College LIED to me and told me I could finish my degree in 1 to 1.5 years. I finally got an outline of the required courses in the program (I just received the course requirements after THREE semesters of attending the college.) According to the outline, it'll take me 4 years to complete the degree. The degree is 250 credits. They have you taking ridiculous classes that are not even required by law. I have to take an anatomy course, course on depo procedures, medical courses, etc. ATTENDANCE: They have a strict attendance policy. Don't get me wrong, this is great that they don't want you to miss class. However, they don't care about the attendance for YOUR sake...they care about it because all they care about is their financial aide. I missed two classes, and they called me stating my financial aide will be cut off if I don't get to class. All they care about is that you attend class so they can keep getting their $$MONEY$$ There is a reason they have a 100% acceptance rate...it's because they just care about the money and not about the students. BREAKS: You don't get ANY breaks at this college. One semester goes right into the other semester. The largest amount of time I got a break was one WEEK for Christmas. You also attend class all through the summer. So you get VERY burnt out. GRADING POLICY: The great policy is STRICK. If you do not pass a final with at least a 92%, you have to repeat the whole class. I've seen fellow students who have had an overall grade of 95%, but they get nervous on the final (one student got a 90% on the final, a 95% overall in the class) and she had to repeat the WHOLE class. Please, do NOT waste your money on Bryan College. They lie to you, only care about their money, and they burn you out so you are practically forced to drop the program. My first semester, I started with 25 kids in my class. I am now down to THREE kids. There is a reason their graduation rate is only 10%. read more

Wish I would've trusted my gut on this place the moment I set foot. I was 22 and so inexperienced, but my parents supported me. This place is sketch as fuck. Wish I would've done more research. The bitch at financial aid was so rude and cold every time I went I to see her. I dreaded it. Her name was Jessica Avalos I believe. She only perked up and flirted when my dad came in to help me with financial aid paperwork. The only gem there was Hilary, she really cared about her students and their success. Everyone else was male and constantly competed against each other instead of taking their students seriously. Now I'm $12,000 in debt and my credits will not transfer to any other REAL school. They lied to me when I signed up, saying oh yeah your credits will transfer. They only sign people up to take your money. Go to the national personal training institute off of F street here in sac. It's half the cost of this sad excuse of a school. And they actually have consistent 5 star reviews. And way more hands on it seems. This school hardly had hands on training. That's the whole point of being a trainer! Being hands on! Stay away from here. read more

I am currently attending Bryan College and it's sad to hear about other people's reviews about a schools that you have enjoyed being a part of. Bryan College has been one of the most exciting places I've attended. Ms. Stacy V. lacks to mention that this school had only been established at that location in 2007. Being that I am a current student there, my opinion brings more value to the table than from someone who has came in, looked, and decided. However, In all fairness, everyone has the rights to their own opinion. So, in my opinion the teachers have been more than great with helping me exceed in my expectations as a pupil. My representative has always had an open door for me and if i didn't know where else to go or who else to go to, she would be my first thought. It has changed for the better. I know that the school's staff members realizes what changes are needed to be made and the student's educations is always their number priority. I am a graduate of Bryan College Massage Therapy program. Throughout the program I worked a full-time job and went to school full time. I knew that this was going to be tough on me and my personal life, but it was only 15 months. As soon as I got to my 500 hours I received my CMT License by the State of California. Did I stop there school that point? NO. The second year course happen to be the courses that I use the most in my practice today. Understanding people's dosha, allows me to use the right type of oil for them. Thai stretches have been incorporated into my sports massage. Special Population massage just happens to be the majority of my business. If you think all you are going to do is work on people who just want Swedish Massage, and Deep Tissue, then you are mistaken. My clients have fibromyalgia, lymphatic build up, and low range of movement. You do not learn this is only 500 hours of education. Bryan College stands out in the field because of the education you receive, and the in-depth knowledge that the staff has. My teachers were willing to stay after class and work with my on my technique when I wanted help. Having a school clinic, allowed me to get my nervousness out of the way on the public before I went out to look for work. On my first paid client, I felt confident and sure of my technique. I still have career services and job placement assistance even though I have graduated. Knowing that I can call them anytime to ask for help is reassuring. read more

So my orientation was yesterday. I'm not a student just yet but after attending ato the orientation I quickly feel to what my decision is on if or if not I will attend to Bryan college. The answer is NO! I wanted to go there for the personal training program and found out that all the things I'll be learning will be redundant for me. I am already a fitness trainer and got my position by myself andI wanted to expand my knowledge further. When I saw the instructors I felt iffy already! They where all over weight. Some of the future students ask the instructors really good questions. The instructors answer well enough to get us excited but the answer was never straight forward. They knew nothing about nutrition obviously do to their weight and their application on fitness was novice. I could of thought them a thing or to. I have been going in for massage therapy for back pain and they have done wonders, highly recommend them for a massage.

Horrible college, if you can go to another I would say go somewhere else. The staff there are all like car salesmen trying to get you hooked into a student loan that they will have full control over. They take out a loan in your name and spend on your behalf, once their done they stick you with a huge bill and won't tell you what it is exactly for. I went to this place and at first I thought it was okay coming through the doors thinking the staff would actually be helpful to me, boy was i wrong! once all of the paperwork was signed and doted they didn't even want to speak to me anymore. Hell I tried to get my sorry excuse for an instructor to help me out with home work after classes, First off, they never actually answer their messages or return calls so they will tell you to e-mail them, second that e-mail will get ignored for like a week before being answered. After trying for so long to get my sessions started for after classes help (Witch is offered at the start of the year) I ended up setting in the little computer lab waiting for my Prof to be done hanging out with other staff members, she cancelled on me and then the following weeks i caught her just driving away without even letting me know my sessions were being cancelled. My loan started out at $1.400. somehow jumped to $2.300 and now has rocked to a $3.000 witch i have no idea why it is that high now and they refuse to tell me what exactly they spent that much of the loan on. read more

An AOS is not necessary to be a massage therapist. Yes it looks nice but it doesn't get you any more money than the person with 500 hours and a certificate. You will start at the same base pay as the 500 hour certified therapist where ever you go regardless of having the AOS. They lie about how much money you can make and how rapidly the field is growing. Massage therapists are not that high in demand. The economy has hit the massage world hard. Most people view massage as a luxury not a necessity so when they start tightening their expenses massage is the first to go. I know cause I have seen it happen. I have lost clients due to lost jobs and other money issues. The faculty is a fraud. Their career services person is not only in a relationship with the director of education but also a student in the massage program. Talk about a conflict of interest! The male instructors flirt with the female students constantly. I have seen it first hand. The issue has been brought to the program coordinator's attention and the director of education's attention and yet nothing is done. Their male teaching assistant even has a second job at an adult novelty store and was passing out his card to students during clinic! None of this seems to be of any concern to the program coordinator or the director of education. You would think they would be concerned with this considering it's sexual harassment but I guess they aren't going to do anything until someone threatens to sue them. Also, the program director pretends to care when you go to her with complaints or issues but once you're gone she doesn't give a crap. The students are just a bunch of whiners and complainers to her. There is a lot of favoritism by the instructors as well. The favorite students get the good grades even when they are hardly even there and the ones that aren't favorites don't get the good grades. There have been several of my classmates that have had really good GPAs but their massage was awful! The content of the courses are seriously lacking. They brag about their National Test Prep class that is supposed to prepare you to take the national test but they don't teach you the anatomy, physiology, or pathology needed to pass that test. The rest of the classes are lacking as well. The deep tissue class and the medical class do not prepare you to work on clients that want deep tissue or on clients that have medical conditions. Be careful if you come from another school too cause they may or may not except prior credit. I came with over 100 hours already of clinic hours however it wasn't good enough for them and made me complete almost all of their 180 hours of clinic. I have had classmates where they didn't take any of their prior education also. This is defiantly the snob school of massage therapy. They think they're the best when they are not. The use to have a program coordinator for their Court reporting program but fired her when she refused to demote herself because the president of the campus didn't like her. We all LOVED her. She was for the student!! Then to replace her they bring in this guy from the front office that had NEVER spent a day in the Court Reporting field. He was mildly retarded when it came to anything involving court reporting. Bad bad school. Trust me, please, trust me. There are better, more affordable schools out there. Bryan college has student massage "clinics" at which students training to be a CMT practise on customers for a fee of $30/hour. I've tried these several times. Sometimes pretty good massages and somtimes just ok massages. read more

I went to this school for my Health information management and coding degree and it was a freakin joke. The dean of the program was telling the teachers to not fail any of the students. there were students who NEVER came to class and they passed, i don't see how that is possible. They also guarantee employment and its been 7 months and I havent had a interview once since i graduated. Every single employer says i dont have enough experience and i'm not certified. Every other program has their certification paid for by the school, expect the HIMC program, it cost 300.00 bucks to get certified, I can't afford that since i have to pay off a useless 20,000.00 loan with no freakin job or any source of income. For all those thinking about it, DON'T its just a waste of money and they dont do any of this stuff they promise. All they are is a diploma mill, all they care about is their money, I know someone who was working there and they don't care about the students just about the money. read more

First off if i could give this school no stars that would be more correct. This school is absolute crap. I attended Bryan college for HIMC- Health Information Management and Medical Billing and Coding; I went through the whole course, even graduated with a 4.0. But I did not learn anything at this overpriced school. Through all my classes I never felt challenged except for maybe the math class, but me being a person who has barely even stepped foot in a doctors/medical office and not knowing anything about it, after finishing and graduating i feel the same, still don't know anything about this field. Not to mention the over priced cost for books/computer programs which half of mine are still in the packaging because we never used. Over all I am very disappointed that i have an associates degree that I can do nothing with , and that I'm now 30 thousand in dept from the loans from this school. Yeah if your looking for a friendly yet unhelpful environment, and a quick and easy degree with nothing but a piece of paper to show people then this might be the place for you. read more
