Hey, its Mother's Day. :-) My family and I visit here about twice a month. My husband had forgot to order a cake from Publix, so he decided to come here since I decided that I wanted an ice-cream cake. They had strawberry, chocolate, or vanilla ice-cream. I chose Vanilla. My husband requested the Mother's Day cake, and had the young man to put my name on the cake. When we received it, it definitely wasn't a Mother's Day cake. It was a birthday cake. I didn't complain, and I thanked the young man. I feel like he should've just said they didn't have anymore. But anyway, the writing wasn't the best and there was no apostrophe between the r and s, for the word Mother's. The "d" for Day was in lowercase, but again I didn't complain. These are young people thats employed here, so I feel like they need to be properly trained for this type of work. They are always pleasant, but sometimes not as fast paced as other parlors. I will be back soon, but will just stick with a vanilla cone with sprinkles. read more

Two stars is your Christmas gift!! This use to be the GO TO Brusters, but ever since or favorite scooper hasn't been seen! I mean first they take away all the specials, then the service goes sub-par and now .. now they can't even get (2) pints of ice cream correct! All I wanted was to indulge in a scoop of Peppermint Oreo (doesn't that sound dreamy) .. and no!!! Freaking chocolate Oreo!! Chocolate "who wants that much chocolate" flipping Oreo!!! I have been to this location quite a few times over the last six years we've lived on this side of town. It has drive thru so that helps considerably. I can't give one star, but this last time really irritated me. Going through last night I see the sign stating two waffle cones for $8. Sounded good. However when we mentioned it to the worker he told us that he was told by management to not honor ANYTHING ON THEIR SIGN. That's blatantly FALSE ADVERTISING. We stoped by today to get some ice cream and a milkshake. It tasted soooooo gooood! It was delicious! Highly recommend!

Waited in line for 26 minutes behind a group of teens, no prob- very big group. However, seems like the employees there were friends with mentioned group and would give them their upmost attention. That's fine as long as you're doing your job right? Yeah no. These teens were attending ONLY THEIR FRIENDS??? Wtf ? At least take the orders of the rest of the customers.. there were a total of 5 employees, one girl taking orders and getting them out efficiently, a guy scooping and prepping, one person at the drive through, the one guy responding very quickly to his friends orders and one guy drinking out of a soda cup aimlessly walking around doing absolutely nothing. The efficiency of these 5 was disappointing to say the least. I've worked at la michoacana when I was 16 and know how much your wrist can hurt when scooping ice cream and how tiring it can all be, but to see these kids not talk to one another, communicate or even give even a heads up to what's going on is so hectic. Nobody seemed to be working as a team and getting much done. Work stations were clean where the ice cream was being scooped but... no gloves??? Say what you want about bacteria entering our bodies one way or another but they were touching cash, windows, counters, scoops, hair, apron, and our food. No rinsing of the hands in between transactions, not a glove in sight, nobody seemed to have any care for hygiene. It's busy, I try to understand that but when you have about 30 people ordering and also have cars at the drive through, gloves would be much needed! When me and my 2 friends finally got to order, one of us had lost their appetite because of how long it took for someone to finally acknowledge us and the amount of bugs at the "place your order window." (I have video proof of the amount of bugs). My friend ordered a single scoop, kids cone- cotton candy explosion and she was quite satisfied with it, but when I ordered a small cone (2 scoops), of Oreo, the young man gave me a medium cone with 2 scoops of cheesecake Oreo... lol wrong flavor. Could've at least told me they ran out of plain Oreo. The whole experience was just so disappointing and upsetting, the teenagers were just sitting around the 2 order windows smoking their flavored vapes being in the way, crowding and making everyone uncomfortable. Management needs to do better on how they train the people who work here. They do not know how to work together nor keep the place clean. read more

Well it shouldn't take 15 minutes to make an ice cream cone and banana split, especially since it took 15 minutes to place the order. Then being told they were out of chocolate just before delivering the cone, after being told they were out of sugar cones at the time of placing the order. This is disgusting. There was a hair deep in my ice cream. I got the ice cream to go, got home and saw this. This is why they need to wear hair nets! And gloves, I've visited several locations and none do it right. None have hair nets on and few ever wear gloves. Safe to say I will no longer be buying ice cream from brusters. I know that they close at 10pm so I stopped by at 9:15. The employee at the drive thru on 11/24 told me that they close at 9 and refused to take my order. I have definitely been there at 9:45pm before and been served, so I know this is one employee refusing to do her job. When I initially went to place order the employee was not very welcoming. I met a friend and her two daughters there for ice cream. I ordered the strawberry shortcake, my favorite. Nothing was wrong with our orders, but the customer service is definitely lacking. I don't expect going to be overly friendly, but a smile and thank you is appreciated. Just called this Bruster's six times during business hours (google has these hours listed as 11 AM to 10 PM) and never got an answer. I called the second location nearest to me to ask if this location has closed, if they had a contact for this location, or I could speak to a manager, and they said "No" to all three. Very unhelpful. HORRIBLE!!! I don't understand how this Bruster's can be so horrible and yet the one on Lavista and the one that used to be in Brookhaven (damn I miss that place!) are complete world's apart when it comes to taste! I have been here 3 times now to make sure it wasn't a fluke or they were just having a bad day. I always order a milkshake, either a cookies and cream or a cookies and cream with a banana in it (it IS good) First Issue, the Drive Through: It doesn't work! they let you order on the speaker, then let you wait in line and then have you order AGAIN at the window because apparently they didn't hear a word you said at the speaker! Instead of just saying "please drive to the window, our speaker is broken." Second issue, watery milkshake: I ask for a banana in my cookies and cream milkshake. We drive off, and I tell my boyfriend to turn around and go back. I refuse to pay for something if I am just going to throw it away. So we go back and I tell the guy the milkshake tastes watered down, his exact response, "well you asked for a banana in it, so I had to use less ice cream and more milk to make room". WHAT AN IDIOT!!! Why would he have to use more or anything? just put the damn ice cream in, put the milk in, slice the banana and mix. This is not rocket science! So I tell him to make another one sans the banana since it seems to be a really complicated recipe for him. Still my milkshake is bland! I don't get it, don't they get the same ice-cream the other Bruster's get? Are they just using way too much milk in their milkshakes? Do they only hire morons? I will NEVER go here again! I couldn't tell you how the ice cream is at this Bruster's location. My husband and I were unable to get anyone inside to even acknowledge our presence. We walked up to the window last night, and there was a family in front of us getting served. The drive-thru had a few cars in line. The two workers inside completely ignored us and appeared to deliberately avoid eye contact. They served every single person in line at the drive-thru before we gave up and left. We ended up picking up a half gallon of low fat frozen yogurt at Publix and enjoying it at home. I understand being busy, but they were not busy. There were two people working; one should've been handling the drive-thru while the other took care of the walk-up window. At the very least, it would've been nice to get a "hi, be right with you". read more

Worst place I've ever been to, waited 30 minutes for a freeze, in the burning heat. When I finally got it, it was the wrong flavor. They made me a watermelon flavor. Owner was nasty saying he couldn't change it when in fact it was the employees fault because she did write it right but the person making the order made the wrong one. My last visit was pleasant. There was only one server so it was slow but he was kind and the ice cream was good as always.
