Cute little drive-up ice cream store where there are a variety of options. I tried a scoop of cotton candy and a scoop of salted caramel and they were very different. The cotton candy was very sweet and colorful, but the salted caramel was far more complex and the better choice. Where is the consistency? The past 3 times we've been here and spent over $11 each time we've left with half-filled containers. It's beyond frustrating to pay for "regular" container that literally looks like it was filled with a tablespoon instead of an ice cream scoop. I love their Sea Salt Caramel and my wife likes the Chocolate Raspberry Truffle in waffle cones. We have a closer Bruster's to our home but it is often out of Sea Salt Caramel. I just went through the drive thru of this location. I already waited awhile to order at the speaker box and then waited around 5 minutes behind 1 car that was waiting to receive their order. Once it was my turn to pull up to the window, I was ignored for another 5 minutes. They were more concerned with walk up customers than drive thru customers. I tried several times to say "excuse me" so I could cancel my order but I was ignored. I finally caught the attention of a young girl and told her to cancel my order. She shrugged and asked, "you don't want it?" It looked like the owner was in there working as well. He was a longer, gray haired fellow with no hat or hairnet on. I came with those very same expectations and was blown away with my overall experience after frequenting the place over an extended time. What truly sets this location apart is the owner's attitude and respect for his customers. Most in the community is familiar with Joey who actively interacts with his community. He persists in hiring local students around the area and is always working hard to satisfy his customers. During the days he is working, he interacts with all his customers with a positive attitude and a bright smile. I've actually had a chance to talk to the guy, and I could tell that he truly enjoys his job and truly works to please his customers. Joey's positive attitude and care for his customers is apparent in all of the employees who work at the place. All of the workers treat their customers with positive attitude and are happy to meet your requests without complaints. Considering the fact that there are so many other Brusters where workers seem grumpy and owners are cheap, this location set itself apart. Cotton candy explosion is my kryptonite. I went out of my way to stop at this Bruster's and get a bite of the oh so sweet treats they have. This location has a drive through that is extremely awkward to figure out since you have to make a3 point turn in the back of the building to get in the drive thru only to realize you order at the window anyway. Still, I didn't have to get out of my car so the indulgent side of me was happy. The girls here were very nice and quickly prepared my order. I wish there was somewhere nicer to sit at this location, but they make up for it with good ice cream. Thoroughly enjoyed the pit stop and highly recommend this Bruster's! read more

I'll agree with the other review that the sanitation of the employees is bad here. I was in the drive thru waiting on my wife's sundae. I was able to watch the employee make it by watching him in those mirror they have to see the drive thru line. He must have had a cold as he rubbed his nose with his finger and made her sundae with his bare hands. Just before he got done making it he got a paper towel and blew his nose and finished making the sundae. He never washed his hands handling money or playing with his booger nose. I told my wife to trash the sundae as she wouldn't let me drive off and out of the drive thru as it would be "rude". Also, to gross you out even more, his finger nails had dirt under them when I handed him the card. Yuck. read more

After moving to this area I was excited to learn about Brusters and try their Ice Cream. One evening my boyfriend and I were playing trivia across the street and decided to walk over after the game. I had a coupon for buy 1 waffle cone, get one free, and you can't beat that! For $4 I got 2 scoops (although I just asked for 1!) or Cookie Dough Ice cream in a huge waffle cone. I started eating it and it just didn't taste right for some reason. I think it had an overly rich flavor and it tasted just like pure full fat cream. It was really heavy and I could only eat about half before I felt sick. Once I got home I ended up getting sick, but I think it was due more to the heaviness in my stomach rather than the ice cream being bad or anything. I don't think I will be having Brusters anytime soon, but maybe I'll try it again eventually.... read more

Tonight, I watched in disgust an employee picked up my ice cream cone with his bare hands. He was touching money and who knows what else. The cone was not wrapped and he did not wash his hands before taking the cone to fill. My husband paid and I went right to the garbage and threw it out. He insisted the "ice cream could be fine even if the cone is disgusting". I am aware that there is plenty we don't see in food service that is probably disgusting but to openly have no hygiene requirements is awful. I really hope no one gets sick eating here! read more

I've been coming to this location for years but I've definitely seen a decline in their employees. Today May 13th I visited 15 minutes before closing. I was in line at the drive thru for almost ten minutes waiting on another car to be served. When I pulled to the window I believe I spoke to Jack. ( based on my receipt) I was appalled at the foul language of the other two teenage employees. Female brunette small was moping and male I didn't get a good look at. They were cursing and complaining about work "Are you F*cking kidding me" etc as well as talking about how the male had diarrhea. Listen I get that you are young and want to go home and I get that it's almost closing but you are still open until it turns 10. Don't be disrespectful and fowl mouthed especially when the costumers can very obviously hear you. And don't scream about your bowel movements where customers can here. Learn some respect for your job and yourself. Do it when there aren't customers around. read more

We frequent Bruster's all the time and the location on Old Alabama is maybe our favorite so far. I wish I remembered the name of the girl who helped us tonight, but she was awesome! At other locations they aren't too happy if you want to try a lot of flavors, but she was perfectly fine with me being picky. In fact, she was very positive and upbeat, even having a nice conversation with the person I was with and making great recommendations. There was no way for me to tip on my receipt so we purposely went to the car, got some cash and put it in the tip jar. We will definitely be back! read more
