I've not yet had my lens exchange but I do want to take a minute for Dr. Brusco. At least in the DMV, you aren't going to find a surgeon who more clearly cares about his work and your outcome. When I met with him, I got a cell phone number to text if I had questions. I have put a substantial amount of research into this decision and I had a bunch of question. I posed questions to him on a Friday night not because I expected him to respond before Monday but just so I didn't forget to ask. Those questions were answered on Friday. I asked my second set of questions on a Saturday a few weeks later based on additional research and they were answered right away. That time, I told him explicitly that he shouldn't respond before Monday but he did anyway. If you are considering refractive eye surgery do yourself a favor and just consult with Dr. Brusco. read more

I will preface this by saying, if I could give this review more than 5 stars I would. Brusco Vision is where I completed my EVO ICL recently and Dr. Brusco performed the surgery. I was incredibly impressed with the overall quality of care, attentiveness, and consideration him and his entire team took in not only identifying the appropriate procedure that would suit my eyes and lifestyle, but also educating me and preparing me for the procedure. I'm one week post-op, and I have 20/20 vision with zero concerns or issues. The surgery itself was incredibly fast (30 min) and actual surgery time for each eye was faster (6min). The team kept my nerves low and walked me through each and every step. It was by far one of the coolest experiences of my life. I had ICL done in both eyes in 10/2023. Best decision I ever made! I had a very high prescription with astigmatism, greater than -10.5 in both. I also have a scleral buckle in my left eye and retinal tears (repaired) in my right, so fairly complex when considering vision correction. I am 37. Vision had been changing slightly with each of my pregnancies, but finally stabilized enough to think about correction. From the consultation, to the surgery, it has been top notch. Better than any medical experience thus far. During the month after my procedure, I had a real test of my lenses! Kids with pink eye, RSV, Stomach virus, meaning multiple night wakings where I didn't even have to think about my glasses! No fumbling around to see. I ended up at the ER with my son, which turned into a hospital stay. Didn't have to worry about who would bring my glasses or how dry my eyes would have been with contacts in for so many hours during an unexpected situation. None of this compromised my ICLs and recovery. Dr. Brusco never made me wonder about expectations. Overall, I see 20/15 with both eyes! It is amazing, freeing, and worth the cost. Generally I write pro and con reviews to try to give others a means of possibly considering something they may not have thought of, but I actually have no cons here. I would highly recommend Dr. Brusco and his staff. He is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about finding what works best for each patient's needs. His staff is attentive and incredible at making you feel you clearly understand where you are at each stage of your treatment with them. Personally, I went with a procedure I did not know about previously and now have 20/15 vision with no need for reading glasses. I use UV protective sunglasses outside as he recommended. Dr. Brusco and his team have been fantastic, healing has been right on schedule, and my vision is better than it was with contacts (and without the hassle). If you're thinking about corrective vision surgery (even if you think you might be hearing too old for it as you approach reading glasses age), Dr. Brusco is the doctor you want to see. He'll be thorough, fully assess what is viable for you (I came in to see about LASIK originally, but found out my corneas were not good candidates), and will follow up for months to make sure everything heals correctly. I recently had ICL surgery with Dr. Brusco. During my initial consult I met with him and a couple members of his team. The fact that I met with Dr. Brusco personally and his in depth description of the ICL process was the icing on the cake. Throughout the entire process, I was able to maintain contact with Dr. Brusco and his staff via texting which was helpful when I had questions. The office is sterile and immaculate. The procedure did not take long at all and they had 90s Hits playing and were singing to help keep me calm :). No pain, no red eyes, etc. I am experiencing some dry eyes which should helpfully stop soon. It's to be expected since I just had the surgery and am still in recovery, but so far so good! If you're considering eye surgery, do your research on the surgeons' efficacy, risks, the different procedures offered, and attend consultations with different practitioners, and choose who is best for you. I went to Dr. Brusco for a second opinion after visiting another Lasik practice. I'd gone through a couple rounds of consultation at that other practice and was ultimately approved for Lasik, but something felt off to me. As someone who has experienced medical trauma it was extremely important to find a doctor I could trust. The first thing that impressed me about Dr. Brusco was the fact that he actually attended the consultation. It was great to meet the person who would be doing the surgery and ask questions directly. He made me feel like all of my questions were valid and that he had all the time in the world to answer them. The fact that he had performed surgeries for the army at Fort Riley was also a selling point, suggesting a commitment to public service in alignment with my own values. After the consultation, Dr. Brusco recommended EVO ICL over Lasik due to the thinness of my corneas. The surgery itself went very smoothly. Even though I was abjectly terrified about the prospect of having someone CUT INTO MY EYEBALLS (!!!), all of his staff were very kind and reassuring, *especially* Salma (I'm not sure about her role - assistant physician, maybe? deputy doctor?) who really went out of her way to make me feel comfortable and develop rapport. Before the procedure, my eyes were -7 and -5.5, respectively and everything beyond arm's length was blurry. Immediately after the procedure, I could read the clock all the way across the room! Recovery mostly went smoothly and I could text Dr. Brusco to get rapid responses to issues that arose. Again, he took all my questions seriously. I wish I'd had the procedure sooner, as I'm now 41 and could have enjoyed even more years free of glasses and contacts. The possibilities truly feel endless. Should I go swimming in the ocean? Yes, because I don't have to worry about getting my contacts wet! Should I join a protest on the street? Sure, because I won't need to worry about someone trampling my glasses or getting arrested without my contact lens solution. My one suggestion for improvement: there were some points in the written post op instructions that contradicted what Dr. Brusco told me (he said to go with what he said over the written advice), so those instructions could be updated or clarified. I also can't comment on any of the financing options since I paid cash for the procedure. Overall, I'm highly satisfied with the whole experience. 5 stars. read more

I visited this practice considering lasik correction surgery. What a Beautiful facility, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. However, I decided not to go ahead with the recommendation to remove my healthy lenses and replace them with artificial prescription lenses at the steep price of 13K. My eyes are perfectly healthy, and because there might be a chance that after age 70, I will develop a cataract, it is not reasonable to make changes to my healthy eyes. I will continue wearing glasses; they are a great fashion accessory. Dr. Brusco is excellent at explaining the process, procedure, and risks in detail.
