The management changed over the summer, and we were shocked at the culture change among the personnel. They were rude and unaccommodating. Today they suddenly turned the lights dark at 1pm while we were in the middle of the game, lighting only the pins, and claimed that they had "always done that." We've been bowling there for 12 years, and they have NEVER done that. One of the ladies has vertigo, and this was triggering her condition. We explained that, and they basically said "Too bad." We will find another place for our weekly bowling outing. read more

Brunswick Zone is huge. Their Cosmic Night Friday Night deal is a great way to get in a lot of bowling - $10 gets you shoes and as much bowling as you can get in for 2 hours. Almost all of the 44 lanes were in use. Unfortunately, there were some problems which prevented us from enjoying it as much as we would have liked. The layout of the tables and chairs for the alleys is a bit awkward. The tables for each odd-numbered lane - including the automatic scorer - are on the alley level for the odd-numbered lanes, and the tables/scorer for the even-numbered lanes are on the next level up, behind a rail. Since the automatic scorekeeper can accommodate up to 6 players, and the tables only hold 4, there's a lot of people standing or sitting at each others' tables. The automatic scorer for our lane got screwed up about 6 turns into our first game. It marked someone as having a strike before he bowled (of course he didn't think that was a problem, lol). When we manually input his score, the program would then copy the keyed-in score into the next player's frame. It did this about 6 times, and we finally had to go to the front desk to ask them to make some kind of correction - which worked. At a later point, we had a situation where the pins were reset and the 8-pin fell down. When we tried to manually reset it by the button, it did nothing the first time. On the second push, the sweep bar cleared the pins and then never moved. We had to have someone from the desk fix it from behind. We certainly had a good time and got our money's worth, but with the layout and the problems we experienced, we'll be checking other places out as well the next time we bowl. read more

Great bowling. Decent arcade, horrible prizes. The arcade sucks up your 20 dollar bill the prize is a 50 cent toy. Seriously? Way to be cheap.. Also, the chairs you sit in to bowl are extremely awkward. Another problem is, it takes a long time to find the right sized bowling balls, you have to check every section to find your size. It's a good bowling place but... I suggest Wamesit Lanes for more fun with family. read more

This bowling alley is great for those who are on a budget. Being a college student myself, I find this place to be great if you are looking for a fun, inexpensive time. Mondays and tuesdays (9-11PM)are dollar bowling nights where soda, pizza, bowling shoes, and strings of bowling are just a dollar each! In addition, Brunswick also has a lounge with darts, tvs, and pool tables, an arcade, and a full bar with moderately priced drinks. Get there early because waits can be up to an hour for a lane. Don't worry though, they have the Red Sox games on all the TV sets :) The place is clean, the people are nice, and the crowd varies in age, sex, race, and skill level. Usually come here on a Wednesday or Thursday night for the unlimited bowling deals, never had a complaint. Went there last night on a Tuesday for a change and it felt like all the screws had totally come undone. There was a new bartender it seems and the line to wait for a drink was always at least 4 people deep at a minimum. The blonde woman who usually works the bar is always fast, kind, and efficient. Never any complaints from her. This newer older man was horribly slow, to the point that it took me at least 20 minutes to get a beer the first time, and I left my group waiting for me to take my turn. Never had an issue with grabbing a drink before last night. The second time I tried it was so slow I just gave up and continued bowling. Most people we only ordering draft beers, something that doesn't take much time to prepare at all. At one point another waitress yelled "you good?" to him in my ear as about 6 of us waited in line and he replied with yes. Not sure why nobody else jumped in or tried to cut the line down. There was nobody else in the actual lounge, just a couple people who wanted some beers. No excuse why it should have taken that long to be honest. I usually love this place and their prices are good and it's a fun environment, but tonight was a real bummer. read more

Great great spot!! We are from Indianapolis and stopped in to kill some time. The staff was super nice and fun. The place was also very clean, one of the cleanest bowling alleys I have ever been in. The price for 4 of us for three games and shoes was $93.00 which compared to Indy was pretty steep but still a great time. brunswick bowling is cheat, I planned to go there on Saturday afternoon. I bought Groupon coupons, I called them first to ask about Groupon, they said they will accept before 6, I went accordingly. When I reached there, cheaters said their system is not accepting groupon vouchers so have to buy full price bowling and shoe rental which is 3 times a price. I know whenever any vendor has to accept groupon coupon, they simply have to click on redeem the voucher. but they are cheaters and want to make money so first on call they say they will accept but when anyone go there, they don't accept it by false statement about their system. Cheaters cheaters, dont go to brunswick bowling. Even after buying for 3 times higher price, they stop the bowling lane in between and ask for more money read more

Bowling area itself is fine and it looks nice after 9pm ONLY when they have the neon lights on and music. But the place is always so dirty and the staff is very rude. The man at the desks uses grunts and sounds as a form of response in lieu of words and sentences. Arcade area is small but fine when the machines are working. The restrooms are foul. read more

I had never been ten pin bowling before so I was a little unsure of myself. Rich was great. He sized me up for the right ball to use and gave me some helpful hints on proper technique. This place is a major rip off. Me and one other person went bowling. We bowled two games and rented shoes, and the bill was 36 or 37 dollars. The arcade is also a major rip off. Like 4 bucks for air hockey. The waitress didn't approach us once to offer drinks. Never saw her more than once. My friends and I bowl here, but only because we enjoy bowling, not because this is a great place to bowl. Much of the staff is down-right surly. The equipment is often faulty: pin setters that don't put down a full rack of pins, ball returns that either don't always return balls or manage to return balls with an additional layer of sticky gunk, foul line sensors that buzz when no one's standing near them... the list goes on. It's pointless to complain to the general manager, because she doesn't really seem inclined to do anything about it. read more

First of all, this is the most depressing bowling alley I've ever been in.... unless your blood alchahol level is above .08 and you are playing in your bowling league I would not recommend coming here, especially with children. The manager was nothing but mean to me and my quests and they acted like I shouldn't have even gone there in the first place, VERY UNWELCOMING.... they also told me I wasnt going to be able to bowl for 5 hours cause the lanes were closed when there was 3 lanes in use and 20 turned off, I'm sorry for trying to bowl at the bowling alley I guess. read more

Took my daughter Friday night with my Groupon, had already expired but was able to pay the difference. The staff at the desk, bar, and food court are all friendly. The bathroom, and area are all clean. Plenty of parking and located at a good location. I will definitely return back read more

4 stars for this facility-BEFORE THE FLOOD!!!! Unfortunatly, this bowling alley sits between swampland, a tributary river, and in front, the Merrimack River. During the heavy rains of April and May, the water in the swamp area in back of the lanes continued to rise, and eventually the entire neighborhood on Pawtucket Blvd. flooded out, including the Dunkin Donuts next door. The water was 4 to 6 feet deep in some areas, and since the lanes themselves were a foot or so lower than the floors (you had to step down), once the water came through the doors, it destroyed the lanes and the pinsetters. (Synthetic lanes and computerized scoring had been part of the last $4 million dollar renovation a few years back) Brunswick Corporation owns the house, so insurance claims adjusters were in there immediately accessing damages once the waters receeded. The lanes are now closed while the damaged equipment is replaced, and they hope to re-open in September. League mailers for September signups were in my mailbox yesterday, so it appears that a September reopening is still on target. read more

I never usually write reviews but I feel obligated to do so tonight. I left there 30 minutes ago really annoyed. I had my nephews with me, ready to have a fun night of bowling but unfortunately that didn't happen. I was waiting next to the "check-in" line patiently to purchase a lane and the older bald man behind the counter pretended like he didn't notice I was waiting. I looked around and thought that I might be in the wrong line so I took a step back and noticed a different check in line so I started to wait there. It was the same old bald man behind the counter, he started helping out the people in the line I was in. There were 3 people in front of me, after he had helped them all, it was my turn and he decided to turn to help someone else then walked away afterwards leaving me standing there, unacknowledged and confused. I find it extremely unprofessional to leave a customer waiting for so long without acknowledging them, a simple, "I will be right with you" would even be enough. I left there extremely disappointed and frustrated. Such bad service. read more

Do not go to Brunswick Zone!!! We had a terrible experience tonight. It would have been $60.00 for the four of us to bowl for 2 hours if I didn't have a $20.00 off coupon. Then it cost us over $13.00 for 3 medium drinks and 1 small drink. Then we ordered dinner.....3 hamburgers and a kids chicken tenders, all of which states is serves with fries (see pics of the menu below) when they deliver the food or comes with NO FRIES. When we ask what's going on they state that fries are extra..... So they want us to pay $8.99 for each hamburger with no drink or fries included, even though the menu clearly states served with fries. So when we complain they tell us too bad it's not included. So we tell them to take the food back and refund is, they do.....they wasted over $30.00 in food because they would not honor what the menu stated!!!! What a joke!! I'm not a real bowler so when I say that the floor wax they use requires about 3 degrees of rotational offset to accomadate for lack of ball traction then please take me word for it. I used to enjoy going to Brunswick Zone with my friends for weekly bowling. But eventually the crowds, waiting, and occasionally ludicrious pricing (Friday and Saturday night) turned me off. They have a wide selection of balls for you to choose from and classic bowling shoes (no velcro please). The computerized scoring is very convient for you newbs (or basically anyone who isn't league). Speaking of Leagues, if you happen to go when they are playing than forget about bowling for a while. You'll have to play DDR or drink in the sullen bar (read: depressing). Fortunately when you are bowling you can drink Sparks and eat french fries. The crowd is usually pretty interesting, a nice mix of obnoxious teenagers and bowling freaks. We used to go on a weeknight and they would play the same 10 music vidoes in constant rotation. On one final note, the Disco Bowling DJ was cool and played Gun's and Roses. read more

Nice atmosphere and set up. My friends and I had a great time ! The staff on the other hand was awful ! The chubby brunette bartender had quite the attitude. I approached the bar counter she was sweeping looked up at me, looked the other way then spoke into her head piece continued to sweep. Once i said excuse me she came over and said "WHAT" with an attitude. I asked if she could break change for me and she just pointed at the main desk. Also when we first got there the young long haired brunette cashier at main desk completely ignored me when i asked a question while paying for bowling. While ignoring us she was screaming across the counter to her co worker having her own personal conversation as we were standing there looking for answers. We had never been there before and were wondering how everything worked price wise. Her response "we close in a hour you really think youll have time to play two games" Your staff needs a serious attitude adjustment !!!!! Brunswick Zone is a great place to bowl. Located in Lowell, Ma. It is not far from the highway. I have bowled there for over 40 years on the same bowling league. The lanes are good. The lanes are just ok, however the lack of professionalism the staff has is abhorrent. Specifically, I called to see if lanes were available and Doug abruptly answered "no" and hung up before I could ask him anything else. I called back and said "hi you hung up on me but I had another question" - hung up again! Then I made the mistake of actually going there, he was less courteous in person than he was on the phone (if you can believe it). I would rather wait for an hour at nearby ten-pin lanes in Tewksbury, or just not go bowling at all, rather than coming back to this place again. read more

Great place! Lots of fun with their cosmic bowling and an arcade. Newly renovated after the big flood of '06, it is really a great place to have fun. Tons of leagues from young children all the way up to adult. Leagues for the serious bowler and leagues just to have fun. Last night, I brought my grandchildren in for arcade games and snacks. I was waited on by a young girl, name tag Taylor. I watched this attendant give fast, polite and complete service. I did not see any other attendants working and asked her if she was handling it counter herself. With a smile she said "no, I have great co-workers ". I thought to myself what a polite and loyal employee. I write this review, not only because if this exchange, but because my grandchildren being picky as usual, this Taylor , put up with every request for extra dipping cheese, extra ketchup, another straw, more napkins, etc,,, as the kids requested each item, Taylor was right on top of it with a smile. What I really appreciated the most was that (having picky and exhausting kids with me) Taylor gave me the biggest smile and asked us if we enjoyed our time and to come back again. i feel like brunswicks in lowell, ma is very racist and service is bad. i was there the other day and wanted a 3 lanes for our group of 10 people so we can play more then a few games in the amount of time we have, they told us they dont have enough lanes for us. but when we started to play, about 10 minutes later these two americans kids next to us had 4 lanes between the two. when my friend came in after us and required a lane next to us, they told him , he must have at least 2 people on his lane. i was outrage and told him to just play they cant do anything to you... i go here because i love bowling and its the only one around, so i think they use that to their advantage to do what they like... and this is not the first time that happen, there are many other occasions read more

Food hasn't arrived yet and I've waited half an hour bowling system got screwed up and is really buggy.

Got sick off the pizza and took forever to get out! The staff there was soo rude and not to mention I had to go up the bowling desk about 3-4 times because our lane kept breakinf and they wouldn't fix it. Lost about a games worth of time just waiting for them to fix my lane. Following week went to check out the new place in Tewksbury, wamesit lanes, had an amazing staff and was everything Brunswick wasn't. I suggest Brunswick take some tips from wamesit lanes. read more
