I am writing to share a distressing experience I recently had with KK Dental in Somerset and to see…read moreif anyone else has faced similar issues. I scheduled an appointment for February 3, 2026, to see a specialist regarding a prior root canal. Despite being told over the phone by Yana that my x-rays had been received, I was asked for more upon arrival. The dentist then recommended a CBCT-scan but could not confirm insurance coverage. A receptionist, Priscilla, claimed she checked with my insurance and stated the scan was not covered, quoting me $921.00 out of pocket. She repeatedly pushed payment plans and FSA options, even though I expressed my discomfort with these suggestions. After contacting my insurance provider myself, I was informed the scan is absolutely covered. When I called KK Dental back with the insurance representative on the line, Priscilla was extremely rude, hostile, and mocked the representative's accent. She later confirmed the insurance was indeed correct, and my portion dropped to approximately $203. I later learned that my son had an identical experience at their North Brunswick location. He was forced to pay out of pocket for a covered procedure due to the urgency of his case, and the office has since been hostile and refused to issue a refund. Furthermore, during a follow-up call on February 5, 2026, I was told by staff member, Yana, that the scan was again not covered and that the dentist had decided on an extraction without even performing the scan. We believe these predatory billing practices need to be addressed publicly. We are planning to reach out to the local news to bring light to this issue. If you have had a similar experience and would like to join us in this effort, please let me know, and I will reach out to you with further details.

The first time I just missed their call and tried to call back, but no luck since then. I tried calling back again recently and there's some sort of issue where when they call back I can't hear them (there's no noise or anything), but they haven't tried calling back after that. I have gotten in that que at least twice yesterday. Now I am attempting to hold on the line (thus far it's been about 27min...). I just feel like it shouldn't be this difficult to call to schedule an appointment. As a person trying to go there the first time my impressions of them so far are not looking good. I tried navigating their site for the chat function, but it doesn't seem user friendly in a sense that it looks like an educational type website and not one for a dental office...

Very hesitant to go see someone new; I had just gotten dental insurance back, so I figured it was time to take the leap. I walked in at 7AM and was greeted by Kathy who came out and shook my hand behind the desk. The dental hygienist (I cannot remember her name - the very blonde one) brought me back and said they tour new clients around and handed me a gift bag. Was I at a spa? This place is unreal how nice and pleasant everyone is! After getting my teeth cleaned and examined, Dr. K came in smiling ear to ear. He was so welcoming and shot some witty jokes out within the first 2 minutes of being there. He took his time with me and seemed to truly take an interest in our conversation. After a little while we were laughing about all his guitars on the wall and jamming along to Alanis Morrissette. Apparently he is in a few bands! Dr. K kept complimenting what great teeth I had, I think I said to him "Dr K, I feel like a rockstar!" at one point during the session. Even though he sent me home with several cavities that day, I went straight to work after and told everyone what a great dentist experience I just had. I ended up needing two cavity sessions within about a 2 week period. I was super nervous as I knowingly have a very low pain tolerance. Dr. K was so calming and assuring that if I felt ANY pain, to let him know. I went through the whole procedure with no pain! Needless to say, I highly recommend Dr. K for first timers in the area that have been hesitant to find a new dentist. You will think you are at a spa for a moment! Everyone that works there is so pleasant, it seems like they all truly love their job. Thanks again Dr K and team!

I found Dr. Schwartz after an exhaustive search of dentists in my area. He was consistently well-reviewed by patients across several review platforms, and he was also in my network. His educational background and many years of experience factored into my decision as well. I finally had my first appointment with Dr. Schwartz earlier this month and it was such a positive experience! Right from the start, when I reached out to his office to discuss my dental plan + scheduling, Karen at his front desk was very nice, organized and responsive to all my questions. The same great service continued on to my appointment with Dr. Schwartz. He was very nice, had an excellent bedside manner and took his time with my cleaning and x-rays. He was very professional and warm and explained everything to me clearly. After a thorough and careful examination and review of my x-rays he confirmed my suspicions that the 3-4 procedures that my former dentists prescribed were in fact unnecessary.  Added bonus: Dr. Schwartz is one of the few dentists that still perform dental cleanings himself which I very much appreciated. I have always been so afraid of going to the dentist but Dr. Schwartz did such a good job of putting me at ease with his compassion and patience. I am SO HAPPY to have found Dr. Schwartz.
