After a quick look at the menu, I decided on the French toast latte. I was informed they only had small or large. I went with a small, which I was told was the equivalent to a Starbucks Grande. The latte itself was flavorful. For a small (with almond milk) it was about $7.50. A little pricey in my opinion for a small drink. It's cozy inside with ample seating.

The tables and seating struck me as soon as I walked in on top of the displays and how clean it was, I knew I found a great bakery! I ordered some rainbow cookies, a couple of eclairs and cream puffs. The rainbow cookies are without a doubt some of the best I've had in a long time. The cream puffs I was expecting custard filling but what I chose were the cream puffs filled with chocolate pudding instead, I didn't know there were choices but these did not disappoint, I love chocolate pudding and the flavor/texture was perfect, not too sweet. I called the bakery when I got home and they actually offer 3 types of cream puffs. Chocolate pudding, custard and cannoli filling. The pudding has the chocolate stripe on top, the custard is the plain dough sprinkled with powdered sugar and the cannoli cream puff has a little cannoli cream coming out of it with shavings on top. The eclairs were delicious but they only make the mini size! There are LOTS of pastries, varieties of cookies, cakes, cheescakes and breads. It's too bad I do not like coffee because there is an expresso bar for you to have with your favorite dessert! I will definitely be back, so much more to try here! The entire time we waited for our order to go, the owner was at the bar staring us down, and made us feel uncomfortable. We left as soon as our food came out, which was unusually quick. We left to go eat at the marina down the street. We opened the bags and saw that we didn't get what we ordered. My salad had crushed croutons mixed in with the lettuce (I'm gluten free for medical reasons) and I couldn't pick them out. Her burger was well done, no bun, and the food have her a stomachache. On top of that, they didn't give us any cutlery or napkins. Our food was given to us in black tied plastic bags, and we didn't check because we were ready to leave due to the passive aggressive hostility of the owner and the other customers eating by the bar. Our orders combined came out to $45, plus her tip. We ended up throwing out most of the food. This was my friend's first, and last time coming to Avino's, and this is my last time. Overpriced low quality food that the staff can't get right. Don't eat here.

My parents love the food but I was not blown away on either occasion for the $300-400 bills I paid. The ambience is not high-end, but I like that. I like when I go into a restaurant and I feel like I'm walking into somebody's home. The servers/service was great both times and Jamie on the front end is fantastic and makes you feel like family!
